I am having a hard time going from her Shououken into her Ichiban leg-sweep super. I cant tell if they’re supposed to fall into it or if I’m supposed to hit them as they land; can’t tell if I am doing it too early or too late.
I wanted to main sakura, but I dont feel very comfortable with her. I’ve given up on trying to main her twice already…so why do i keep going back to her challenge mode? Can’t…resist…
it’s supposed to be cancelled almost immediately after shououken hits; for the first few frames of shououken you are considered on the ground thus when you immediately cancel into super it’ll come out on the ground
From what I can tell, the timing is only different if you’re in the corner, and thus closer to your opponent than usual. (Keep in mind that you don’t have to dash or move at all after the EX shunpukyaku ends. You just execute the ultra from where you stand.)
When you’re not in the corner, you have to do the ultra pretty quick after Sakura’s upward kick. When you’re in the corner, you have more time and actually have a wait a moment before doing the ultra. I’m getting better at it, but I still end up whiffing too much.
Just dash forward and do it, it’s not that bad. You can even see if you’ll get it beforehand cause the opp’s body will barely be in the camera when it zooms in on her starting up the ultra. If they’re too low, it’ll whiff, if you don’t see them, it’ll whiff. The dash timing into ultra makes it really easy and gives the perfect timing.
aww maybe this thread is more suited for my question…
i can seem to get this down…
3) MP+MK -> c.MK xx QCB+KK -> QCB, QCB+KKK its in the trial section and i cant get it to connect… i read a dash might be needed but do you guys charge the focus punch before doing the rest?
also it seems like i cant figure out a good counter to ryu,ken,akuma etc when they do jump in attacks… they always manage to sneak in a hit into a uppercut? plus them being power houses doesnt help damage factor for little sakura
and it seems like there isnt alot of standing combos for sakura to pull off big damage…only jump in’s?
HeartNana and I seem to be talking about 2 different ways of doing this, so let me break it down to avoid confusion.
First, yes you fully charge the focus attack. As in, you do not just tap M and K for a quit hit. You charge it up, but you still dash out of it at the last second, so both the focus attack hits, AND you dash forward and are ready to attack right away.
As Heartnana said, apparently you can do a dash after the EX shunpukyaku and then ultra. You don’t HAVE to, and I prefer not to because the extra joystick motions just make it harder for me. As for timing, like we said it depends on whether you’re in the corner or not, or whether you dashed after the shunpukyaku or not. But one thing you can do to help with your timing is watch carefully the body of your opponent when they hit the ground, and see if Sakura is getting there too late or too early (because either will make for a miss). Does that help?
@HeartNana: I was seriously surprised for a minute when I saw you were in Ono, Japan. The name of the city I used to live next to in Japan is called Ono, although that was Fukui Prefecture and it looks like you’re in Kansai somewhere. Heh.
well i say use standing :hk: just range yourself and when they jump at you they should land on those sneaks. but that’s just me, crouching :hp: seems to lack length to hit and act as a solid Anti Air.imo ill see what i can gather later ive barely got up in the morning so i can play this all day!
Zero - I tried not dashing, and i got EX Sakura Otoshi way too much (holding 6 then doing 214214 screwed me up somehow, doing 66 really quickly then 214214 was a lot easier for me). That’s my reasoning.
And yeah, there’s quite a few Ono city’s in Japan, actually. I’m in the Ono City in Hyogo-ken. ^_^;
and use c.HP for anti-air. It has pretty good upper body invul. Some attacks beat it out if you time it a bit off, but if you time it right, it should beat out just about anything, i think…
