Anyone know when Sako vs YHC happens?
it’s hitboxes are avg but into lvl 2 it’s the fastest in the game (tied with adon and Fei) also her FA has some wierd prperties of having a few lower body invincibility due to her hitbox movement.
I honestly would say that fei has the best FA, Akuma and chun are up there too. (chun is +1 on lvl 1 blocked)
I was browsing the Eventhubs framedata and more than half the cast has the same FA2 start up as Cammy: 17+12. Am I missing something here?
I would agree with this. Not 10x better, but significantly better. The MAIN thing that makes Rufus’s Dive Kick better is the lack of delay upon landing. While Cammy’s does Block Damage and has larger Hit Stun, one Focus Attack can completely kill Cammy’s Dive Kick. Whereas with Rufus, you CANNOT Focus it and punish Rufus easily at all. So that’s the main thing.
Sako plays ANY character on a whole 'nother level. You see the Vanilla SFIV matches where he used Sakura? Made her look straight beastly and broken. Sako has one skill that trumps everyone else on the planet, and that’s that weird “sense” of when people get edgy. He can walk up to you with Cammy, stand in your face and do nothing, then DP you the INSTANT you actually finally get so nervous you touch a button. It’s uncanny. The only person who comes close to this is Daigo, when he walks up at you and Low Forward EX Fireballs you right when you stand up.
Yeah, but I think you’re underrating her in Vanilla. She was pretty much, IMO, top 10 in Vanilla (out of 25 characters that doesn’t sound impressive, but it actually is). Now that she’s gotten BETTER, she’s easily still within the top 10, possibly top 5. Remember, everyone else ranked above her mostly got nerfed. The exceptions are Balrog and Rufus.
It’s pretty simple, actually. His Dive Kick IS better, as I already said. Also, he has more life, which means he can make more mistakes. And, finally, he has the easiest way to combo into Ultras, and it costs NO METER. So punishing whiffed DPs badly and such is trivial for him. Damage output and endurance are the biggest advantages he has over Cammy.
And EX Messiah Kick, while requiring meter, is VERY hard to punish. If you bait one, it’s easier for him to escape scott-free, since you can’t jump it or avoid it with Back Dashes. Meanwhile, Cammy’s Cannon Spike is just about the easiest move in the world to make whiff, and is easy to punish. And on block, 100% of the characters (not a scientific fact) can punish it with their own Ultras.
These things don’t make Rufus better than Cammy necessarily, but they ARE huge advantages he has over her. But I can make a post that sounds equally as broken that makes Cammy sound way better than Rufus, too.
Rufus’s Instant Dive Kicks are MUCH faster, due to easier performance. It’s easier to walk up to someone and hit Up/Forward, then Down/Forward + Medium Kick than it is to walk up to someone and input the code for a TKCS. By default, you have three extra frames you are forced to input on the ground, most of which are “Back” motions on the controller, making it MUCH tougher to wait until the last second to bait people into getting hit by Dive Kicks. So it has nothing to do with frames, it’s just the motion and ease of performing that makes it quicker.

James Chen has spoken.
Got a link to those?
Wait, are you saying the Rufus got buffed, or are you saying he ONLY got nerfed (instead of most of his changes were nerfs)? If you’re saying he got buffed, how? I thought he only got damage nerfs, but no buffs.
i think what he’s saying is the damage nerfs didn’t affect rufus and rog all that much. b/c they still get pretty good damage off of their shit.
I tried looking for them and couldn’t find them. It’s so hard to search YouTube for Vanilla SFIV stuff these days, because all results are for Super. I’m pretty sure I found those links here in the Cammy Forums (because the videos have Sako playing Cammy as well), but I haven’t looked through the old Video Thread yet to see if I can find it.
That’s exactly what I’m saying. Damage nerfs are damage nerfs. If a character is godlike and you nerf their damage only, usually that just means he takes longer to kill you. I really only consider REAL nerfs as changes to the properties of a move, and Balrog and Rufus basically got none of those kinds of changes. Everything good about Rufus is still good (I think EX Messiah DID lose some invincibility, but barely noticeable). Balrog got no nerfs that I know of at all. And, in that same vein, Cammy received absolutely no nerfs either.

Just thought I’d mention that I updated the main thread with the time and date of the match (converted for people on our side of the globe). Those who didn’t do the math on DataIsKing’s time might not have noticed but that puts it at 4 in the morning PST. The last round was pretty dang early too, 6 in the morning if memory serves, so I actually missed the first couple sets as it was, but 4, ugh, I’m really hyped for this match but I don’t know that I can swing that. Watching the recording is still fine and fun and all but there’s just something special about watching something live that no one knows the outcome to yet so we’ll see, but on the flip side I’m not really sure if I’ll be able to fully enjoy the match if I’m half awake while watching it. Regardless I’ll try to get a link to the recording on the initial post as soon as possible.
absolute and utter destruction… 10-5…
sako could’ve won those 5 matches easily… i think/felt he just wanted to play more… lol… and stylize :karate:
lol think we’ll be seeing more people playing Cammy now?
A lot more…lol
Sako beasted on Mochi . I hope this doesn’t spurn a heavy surge of Cammy players…only because I hate mirror matches.
Matches over, Mochi started to make a match of it at the end but it was far too little, far too late. Final Score:
Sako 10 Mochi 5
The match up really did appear to favor cammy early but once mochi got a better feel for it he was able to at least make it look closer to 5-5, but even at the end it seemed like every round dhalsim won he just barely won and had to fight and scrape for, almost every round cammy won was a near perfect that was over so fast it made your head spin.
Overall though happy to see Cammy finally win a tournament of note, and just in general enjoyed getting to see her used against high level opponents. Lots Cammy players can learn from these matches.
lol and more of the below:
- how can i do ground cannon strike?
- i cannot get this “sako” combo ??
- c.lk, c.lp, c.lk, sa… my sa doesnt come out… or comes out randomly and 99% of the time gets blocked…
:love::love:
I thought there would be more people playing Cammy after the first couple of matchups, but I couldn’t really tell.
Mochi did some clutch wins, but it usually cost him his super and ultra bar. So next round, he stood there with his pants down.
And I love mirror matches, as long as the other Cammy only knows one combo: Spiral Arrow into Cannon Spike
