Sako plays Cammy on a whole different level than any Cammy player in the world, but I don’t think he’s that much better than his opponents.
People always get overexcited at the idea of their favourite character being one of the strongest. Cammy’s not that different from who she was in vanilla. Better range on a few of her normals, a reliable cross-up, faster SBF–and big damage sinks. She’s definitely better but I’d say she’s placed squarely in the middle. And when you compare Cammy to Rufus, remember you’re not just comparing Cammy against Rufus, you’re comparing Cammy and Rufus against the entire cast. I bet the bandwagon would be with us already if Sako repped Cammy in vanilla. All Sako shows us is that she has the tools to compete. But we already knew that.
cammy is anything but middle of the pack in super. she is top tier no doubt.

Is he exactly the same skill? NO, so trying to base a match-up based soley on one or two people’s play of a character is just…ignorant.
I’m not saying that he was wrong to deny rufus is good against cammy, I believe it to be the other way around, but disregard any outcome based soley on the attitude that “they’re not sako” is plain stupid.

im having trouble with fei at the moment… i think fei long is a really good character and with capable hands he can be devastating… (and they are a rarity… not enough around to practice with… in comparison to Ryu/ken/Guile/Bison/Balrog…)

Also the forums are supposed to have alot of stupid people =P The point is to try and learn to get to a “not stupid” point. Luckily we have a SUPER og like Jchen on here to throw us some bones, thats more that can be said of almost ANY character forum on this site, most of the top/og players usually just sit back and go abouot doing who knows what (circle jerk?) but they learned fighting game shit back when there wasn’t such free access to global communication and videos and are from a “prove yourself” era that newer players like me (and most SRK peeps in character threads) never got a chance to be apart of. With the influx of new people there are bound to be some really dumb ones. Just move on.

fei’s rekka’s are always going to be negative so a proper (sLP) should counter poke anything he trys but heads up with HK chicken wing. Basically you need a knockdown. But once you get it fei has nothing. Try to not get to poked. Lots of instant air dive kicks to bait dp.
I thought I was the only one. I cant deal with rushdown well. AGAINST FEI I always end up in the corner where I cant jab my way out or ill eat a rekka followed by getting poked to death and I get poked out of Dive kicks and I cant cannon spike or block right I just get so nervous especially if he has U2 then I feel like all hope is lost. Why cant i learn to do that with cammy.

I’m with you on making sure we don’t get side tracked and start pitting Cammy up against Rufus when deciding their placement in tiers regarding the whole cast. For example Akuma is clearly better then Cammy, but still when Akuma goes up against Cammy he’s at a big disadvantage: so critiquing this match-up would not be good when deciding the two’s tier placement.
Still though, I’m having trouble seeing what Rufus has that Cammy does not that would make him better over-all. I think she would certainly be no lower then upper mid, because she has advantages other mids do not have (invisible upper-cut, good ways of getting in vs. zoning, superior rush down, awesome focus, great walk speed, slim hit-box, reliable anti-airs, good damage, great throws all combined)… Don’t get me wrong, she has weaknesses, but I think her strengths compensate well to counter them.
Oh, so that I stay on topic lol. Can’t wait to see where Sako will go in future tourneys, it’s going to take something major to knock him out, especially in a first to ten. The guy is a genius when it comes to punishing his opponents paterns. Alot like Daigo. I hope he will continue to prove me right about Cammy lol
What’s so good about Cammy’s FA? Seems average imo.
It’s very fast. Not the fastest in the game, but one of. A great tool for an already quick character.
I’m not 100% on this but I’m guessing it balances out at even. Rufus lacks a dp and has lower footspeed, he’s a bigger target, and his instant divekicks aren’t as quick. But he has higher health and stamina, better normals, can juggle off of some of his normals into ultra 1, ex-SS still does great damage, and his ultra 2 is also very good.
How exactly is it fast? Startup? Active? Recovery? If I’m not mistaken, it’s pretty much almost the same for each character, give or take up to 3 frames.
Rufus’s dive kick has 11 frame startup, compared to Cammy’s 12 frame. How is that slower?
Yeah, I’m much comfortable with saying they break even. Which would still say Cammy is pretty damn good still lol Since Rufus is considered one of the very best in the game. I think along with walk speed, she has the superior links and footsies.
Certain characters can charge their level two, and level three FA faster then others (look at Guy’s). Not everybody has the same FA properties.

He probably is, but I don’t think Cammy is. I didn’t say Rufus and Cammy were equal against the rest of the roster, just against each other.
Hmm, one thing that should be noted about Cammy’s walkspeed: walkspeed can differ walking forward and backward. I haven’t tested it but I think if you took the average of forward and backward walkspeed for every character (in Cammy’s case they’re the same) she’d have the fastest walkspeed in the game, not 6th place where the eventhubs chart places her.
