To do his karas, do you use forward hk or forward lk?
Also, is it worth plinking his cr lk x2 or should I just try and get the timing down?
Simple answers:
- f.hk for TU, TK, f.lk for TS.
- get the timing down.
Then, as usual, it depends.
Only use lk if you need added range. Its slower and goes further than hk. I use hk hara 90% of the time harder to react to.

As far as data collected in SF, I know there are startup frames, active frames, hit-boxes. Is there such a thing that specifies the range of a move? Either in pixels or an arbitrary number? I think this would be really useful. You often see beginner players ask for help on a matchup and people commenting on how generally their pokes are either better/weaker than yours. Those statements aren’t really that helpful in though, not specifically (IMO). However if players could go to a table and study the range of normals/non-projectile specials, they could work out exactly how to space and zone.
If such a thing exists or has been tried please enlighten me
quick question how do you guy do your late throw techs i been practising online and been failing alot…and by alot i mean like 90% i get thrown I tried searching for vids and am really stumped
I’ve given up online tech methods, both mashing and slow are equally ineffective. Personally now, I’d rather make a good educated guess at the timing than eat a combo. Smart players will start throwing in Fierce once they figure out your slow teching.
There’s no need to tech more than twice, so blocked jab - Tech, 2 x blocked jab - Tech are the only spots you need to cover IMO (outside kara). Learning character traits are better in an online enviroment. IE - Dhalsim blocked slide will 95% end in a throw.
Akuma is the only one when I’d rather eat the throw, I can block his shit if he knocks me down and I’d rather do that than eat a walk forward cr.medium into combo. That might just be me though.

another question guys ^^ I was watching alot of bonchan vids and after cr short x2 cr jab xx tu he dashes in and does cr short… is this meaty cause he done it on shotos and they have 3 frame dps so like wut gives…
It’s a meaty vs most chars. If you immediately dash after a TU and do a low short it will give you the frame perfect timing you need vs several chars.
And yes shotos have a 3 frame dp. Bon is trying to show his opponent he doesn’t fear that option and he is more concerned with establishing momentum.
Sumtimes you can’t be too scared of something otherwise your opponent will just sense it and won’t respect your game and won’t respect your options even when you put them in bad situations.
I’m new to sagat, and I was wondering can anyone tell me how to zone effectively with sagats TS. For example I was watching Mago (I think) using low TS on characters that are in the corner. So I what I’m asking is what is the ideal situation to the various TS ??
hey guys, how do you buffer sagats EXTU into ultra? if i understood buffering on ssf4 correctly the ultra (qcf, qcf, KKK) should remember the one qcf from the EXTU so i need only one qcf to execute the ultra? i learned from the tutorial videos that the timing on that one is quite tricky but it still feels like i’m doing sth wrong…

Right. So I’ve just recently picked up Bob and I’ve got a question regarding the kara TS. What is the closest range that you can do the fireball-almost-off-screen-QCF+LK~attack-kara assuming there is a short LS on screen? I’ve been trying to measure it myself, but I’m not confident enough in my kara abilities. How many tiles would you say the max range is?
Why is it that slow low ts help against opponents who walk towards you? Wouldnt you want shots that recover faster such as the high ts? Help me understand this.
They can duck high shot but yes high shot is fine in that regard but if they happened to crouch a split second early then you will get fucked up so yeah. You may have killed yourself over a possible 60 damage. Fuck that nonsense.
Slow shot travels slow. Crazy right? By the time it reaches them you are already well into your recovery. If you do a fast low shot then it reached them quickly and it’s riskier to throw out another immediately because you are still in recovery around the time they are in block stun.
It’s all just numbers really.

he was beating me in the zoning game and i was getting wicked salty.
can someone explain to me the mechnics of a fireball war with mirror sagat.
i dunno how, but he kept slipping shots in from the recovery of my initial tiger shots.
soemtimes we should exchange high and low tiger shots.
i tried stuffing his tiger shot with ex tiger shot and confirm to tiger cannon, but its just a random guess for me when hes gonna shoot.
plus slow tiger shots mix up are really good to counter neutral jump to reset the spacing of the tiger shot game.
i’m really solid with normals and the kara game and all, but fundamentally, my tiger shot game needs work.
with different speeds of high and low tiger shot, its even puzzling to myself.
how should you properly counter tiger shots with tiger shots?
