Thank you i figured as much.
ok here is my question i usually zone when i fight and control the air but every now and then i they slip by my defense so how do i counter some one when they r right in my face or at least a hard kicks length away ? TU work great if they are not blocking and the light kick and light punch combos work sometimes but i always find my self getting beat any tips ?
Tap Focus Attack, absorb a hit and then dash in or out. That’s a good up close strategy. Also work in throwing as much as you can. It’s all about getting them “trained” that you are going to do one thing, then go opposite of their expectations and do something else, keep’em guessing.
Okay my question: Is TU > FADC > RH > Ultra character specific or is it all timing in the HK? I’m having a hard time landing it in actual combat, I always whiff that RH. I’m wondering if I’m better off just going from FADC > Ultra instead of trying to land the HK. I know with some characters it’s easy to land, and for others it whiffs. What’s the general understanding? Does my timing just suck on landing that HK?
Some characters have awkward falls like Gouken, for characters like him I would skip the f.RH. When you miss the f.RH, are you dashing under your opponent, or is the f.RH coming out as the opponent is basically back on the ground?
If you are dashing under, you’re holding forward after your dash, make sure it’s two quick taps (then I let the stick go back to neutral before f.RH)
If you aren’t connecting because they’ve already fallen, dash faster after your TU. There is some recovery time after your dash, one thing to try to get a feel for timing is to TU, FADC then immediately crouch and see when Sagat actually crouches. That should be a good indicator when your f.RH should be input. Keep at it!
Also I found the post I was looking for in the consolidated Q&A thread:
Against the following characters its better to either backdash to ultra or do the ultra immediately after the FADC:
-Boxer (everyone knows this one I think, his floaty fall is annoying)
-Gouken (back-dash seems iffy, so go forward into ultra)
-Seth(same as Boxer, floaty fall)
-Cammy (like Gouken, forward-dash cuz you could whiff if you back-dash)
-Sagat (at midscreen f.HK is okay, but anywhere near the end of the screen and you stand a chance of whiffing your Ultra’s finisher altogether)
Most of the other characters have similar timing… not EXACTLY the same, but similar.
What were the changes made from vanilla to super for sagat?
Please use the search function, play both games, or read the comparison frame data to find out. It has been said a dozen times in THIS thread alone, and it really doesn’t matter anyways.
Is there a time when I should use u2? I’m trying to think and nothing comes to my mind.
1 is an aa, more damage, less scaling…
2 is easily comboed in corner after ex tiger shots but anything else that is worth the dmg output?
Thanks.
so im finding that being really aggresive with my fireball pressure works really well.
has any body have succes with this?
I dunno. I just dash at people and hit cr.lk. It works pretty good.
that works as well to.
Do the sagat boards like to skip questions on there Q and A thread???
Instead we skip to sagat approaching w cr lk? Oooooook. I don’t expect an immediate response or anything but to read “I follow projectiles with a cr lk for footsides to stuff” after a formidable question is pretty funny. I think I have a valid point here.
Anyway, is it a good idea to try to link crlk to mp? It looks like range is balls and it’d prob be smart to just string 2-3 lks to something.
Ex uppercut/super to ultra-does this only connect in corner? And is this easier with the hk version of super? Seems like it is…
You can do ex tu to super?
…
Are you a witch?
Pretty sure he means ex TU or super into ultra
Yeah, I’m just messing.
EX TU to ultra is anywhere on screen. mk super is easiest to combo after.
Ultra 2 is good vs chars that rely on fireballs and Blanka.
I’ve seen a lot of sagats going u2 for Fuerte too
I have no idea why they would do that.
They were catching him off the wall cause it was faster I guess
Ex tu to ultra seems pretty bust…lol.
Good shit guys. Thanks. Blanka I’m guessing because horiz balls =free ultra?
What about against honda? I’m guessing u2 vs him? what can we do after blocked hb?
Should TU-FADC-U2 even be considered…ever? I did this yesterday near the end of someones life…and i wanted to commit hairi kairi.
is this ever a decent option? I just love u1 so much more in every match up thus far.
