I don’t know if this is old news but the easiest kara TS way is this:
Throw a TS, prefer a slow one because its easier with a slow tiger it gives you more time for your commands, then while it is about to end , you do
QCF LK/HK for what move you want to kara F LK or F Hk
and after any button you prefer for your TS
For example:
QCF LK while is about to hit QCF HK, HK
c.lk to c.lp is safe on block, but c.lk c.lk and c.lp c.lp aren’t. So whenever you do either of this combo you get one safe spot in the string and one not so safe. It probably wouldn’t be bad to mix both up…
In the corner i can land an ultra after his super. Is it possible to land anything else after his super? Hitting the ultra after the super is a waste of meter as the entire combo only does around 580 damage.
In past Street Fighter games(never been a great player although I love them ;P) I never played much around with Sagat, with SF IV finally coming up to the PC, I read this is a great character for newbies. Is a standardized opinion? I’d rather play a character that’s supposedly easy then just play one that I can’t do squat with.
sagat is hard to play correctly if your opponent knows his matchup with sagat, but 99% of players just cry about him being “broken” or something and don’t learn the matchup, so that makes him “easy” too.
If you play the game long enough, you’re bound to find another character you like. It’s very easy to pick up a secondary in this game, especially if you start out with Sagat as your main.
what exactly is this tiger knee trap that i here ppl talk about?
and what do u guys do after s.lk > tiger knee? c.lp seems to be good but then i dont know what to do after that. seems like theres not many options to mixup besides another s.lk > tiger knee.
Knee goes for more pressure and to gain ground, especially if you want to get out of the corner. Ending in a shot goes for spacing; s.RH is sometimes a good poke after this.
Other options. These are more-so situational and applied according to the play style of the opponent.
jump in strong or roundhouse
backdash
cross up if close enough
HP uppercut if I have the meter to cancel and if I’m feeling psychic
what extactly makes the ultra whiff despite getting hit with the knee? I was in a sagat/sagat matchup and the guy does fadc to hk then ultra but the ultra whiffs int he corner, i then do a ex tu to ultra on him and the ultra whiffs too (the knee part k.o’ed him tho whew)
Only in a mirror match, if you don’t land the Ultra low enough in the corner, you will miss the last part of the ultra.
Sometimes the second part of the Ultra will wiff if the opponent is too far(vs all characters). It’s happened to me plenty of times from a Uppercut > FADC back > Ultra.
what do you mean when u say that c.HP is a meaty? it gets interrupted easily by pokes after a knee. do u mean after a knockdown?
and is it me or does s.lk > l.tk wiff way too much at max range? m.tk seems more reliable and sets u up for a good crossup if u do c.lp after the knee.
hey guys I was wondering about the crHP>>crLP link. I’m fully aware it is character specific and works in Sagat mirror matches, but I just wanted to know if anyone knows the other characters this link applies to.
I would try this out myself, but I don’t really have the necessary patience really. So I’ll just leech it off you lot :bgrin:
seems to land more consistently than s.lk versions. you can repeatedly do this string without adding in extra pokes to get the right spacing for the knee.
is there any advantage to using the s.lk version? they both have the same startup so theres still a chance of getting interrupted.
man repeated c.lk seems to be the safest option to push them back in knee range but its startup is trash.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but how do some of you feel as far as Fei Long being a threat? I know the matchup is greatly in Sagat’s favor but just want to know some folks input on this.
