wat do you guys follow up s.lk > ts with?? h.tk??
Hy guys, i’m new :encore:
I’ve a question : Is there any shortcut to perform s.lk, TK/TS ?
Thanks a lot:pray:
What is the name of Sagats forward short normal? I know all of the special normals have a name, what is the name of this particular one.
Defending/Attacking against Bison
Every character that I have encountered I’ve had somewhat of a success EXCEPT for one - BISON.
Every time he gets me trapped in the corner (and sometimes not even that) and he does his stomp (ex or not) I can’t seem to counter against it. I jump and punch…forget it his stomp still connects.
I block and retaliate with a TS (tiger shot/fireball wateva) and he counters it with another stomp. Over and over.
I’ve looked on Youtube and it seems like even the top players like Mago and other Sagat finalists have trouble with Bison.
I’ve only seen a handful of Sagat players beat Bison. I looked on SF4 top replays vids and even they have trouble.
Any suggestions guys?
TIA
is c.mk xx TS or s.lk xx TS more effective??

this is magos lastest vid against daigo and he seems to spam c.mk xx TS more than s.lk.
what do you mean more effective
one thing that I do with somewhat success is the instant I see bison jumping for the head stomp, I do a hp TU, it always seems to connect… or you could dash forward or back and meet him with a TK… That seems to work against any of the bisons I encounter online, but I haven’t seen any that were that good.
Tk or EX lts, after tu>fadc w/ no ultra?
The Tk does more damage than the ex lts, and it doesn’t use a bar of your meter… but I believe that a High step kick to ex lts does more damage than both of those… and looks a lot cooler.
Just block it out and try to tech if they go for a throw. mashing out of a block string isn’t wise since it relies on your opponent failing at execution. You don’t want to condition yourself to mash everytime someone does a block string because mid level players usually won’t be dropping their block strings anyway.
I usually block down then walk up and do another s. lk into tk or ts.
h.tk is generally unsafe at a lot of distances since it will land you behind the opponent in recovery frames if their crouching, or just whiff completely against all but the largest characters, not to mention you’re fucked if they’re able to block it anyway.
You can stop stomp with jump straight up high kick. It gets trickier once they mix in devils reverse, but either jump straight up or back, never forward.
cr. mk comes out 1 slower than s. lk. cr. mk also has shorter range than s. lk making s. lk generally more ideal for pokes and used to pressure in block strings.
The reason why he used cr. MK is does a lot more damage than s. lk which was what mago was after since he was behind in health. Besides that, Daigo was camped in the corner crouching and could have easily thrown out a cr. mk or cr. lk that couldn’t be block while standing, and since mago was crouched, he’s not going to waste a frame to stand up to do s. lk when he can just do cr. mk for more dmg anyway.
F-RH has much easier execution than ex lts and tk and does more damage than both plus you can follow up F-RH with ex-tigershot for an additional 50 damage i think, although I wouldn’t waste the meter unless it was a game winning tigershot
What do I do against a good Seth player? I know I need to play the match more to get used to the mix-ups used, but I wouldn’t mind some pointers on how to get in, and how to play the match once Seth has Ultra/Super. Also what to do against jump fierce.
i’ve asked this in other threads without thinking to ask here first so here goes.
c.lp, s.lk>tiger shot/knee. does c.lp, s.lk string?
i have seen players lyk mago constantly pull it out, but since i can’t read frame data or do any sagat block string reliably(yet) i was hoping someone here can confirm it for me?
c.lp > s.lk does not link. he might be doing c. lp at the max possible range where another c.lp would whiff, but s. lk afterwards would connect since it has very good range.
is the majority of sagats damage inflicted going to be off of TS chip damage and AA?
its cool and all but defense gets real boring over time.
depends on how you play… some people like to rush in with TKs and FAs and jump in with MP and then big combos
does ex tu to ultra work on everyone or does it miss for some specific characters? who if any?
Anyone have any advice on Seth?
Anyone have any advice against Fei Long?
theres a matchup thread stickied, did you guys check that out? I think there’s info on both of those matchups
