why should i use TU->FADC->f.hk->Ultra over just ex TU->Ultra? or why do i see the former much more than the latter?
fadc is way safer than doing a raw ex upper
Can someone tell me what the safest jump in strategy is? If I’m jumping in, I usually use mk, then combo with mk, maybe into tiger-knee if they dont block, but after mk jump-in, I’m usually stumped.
A c.lk blockstring? C.lk, c.lk, c.mp, tiger shot? Or c.lk, c.lk, s.lk, short tiger knee.
What’s a good anti-jumpin strategy against Ryu, Ken, and Sakura j.HK?
My opponents are about 3/4 of the screen away before they jump-in and I’ve tried using Sagat’s s.HK to reject them, but their j.HK always connects first. I’ve tried to use TU and TK, but I don’t think i’m fast enough since I keep getting hit whenever I try that too. Because of this, I usually either block or cross-over, but I would love t counter their jump-in whenever possible. This situation usually occurs when we are both fullscreen away from each other and my opponent jumped the first TS and they are about to jump over the second TS.
i think ur timing might be off with the hk
You can combo that as well as jumping RH. into Ultra.
The thing is the jumping attack has to be meaty and done late enough so that the Ultra doesn’t get blocked.
I don’t use it regularly since it’s a lot harder to confirm/risker than TU> FADC> RH. Ultra and Ex TU > Ultra. And even if the opportunity arises where you hit someone with a meaty jump in attack, you do more damage with the traditional Ultra setups than just the jumping attack into Ultra. (The exception though is if you don’t have meter for the traditional Ultra setup)
jeenyus are you pretty good with your sagat? Maybe we could play sometime and I could learn a thing or two.
I’m alright. I won’t be able to play though for at least another 2 weeks though since I have to wait for a joystick.
No controller? Or what happened?
Had a joystick but that needs to be sent for repairs.
I took apart my controller to hack it.
ok well I added you, so whenever, I’d like to practice with you. thanks man!
Is using negative edge the easiest way to perform st. short xx short tiger knee? It works as well for me as doing st. short and then mashing on :df: + :lk:. It’s probably worth my while to practice doing it the legitimate way, because that can translate into other fighting games. I can never get this cancel consistently.
Looks like it was. I tested out the kicking range and was surprised how far it can go. Seems like i was just kicking too late.
It has incredible range once you get it down… I still miss with it sometimes, though =(
I like Sagat because he doesn’t afraid of anything.
2 ?'s tho… Does Sagat broke? And how do I shot tiger?
funny
At the Arcade UFO tournament, I was having a hard time trying to get through to a Dhalsim player. There was a match where I ended up getting stuck in the corner and he would just jump towards me in the air while I tried to do standing RH on him. After this occurred several times, after he started his teleport animation from the corner to the other side of the screen, I input my Ultra command and as he was landing, the Ultra connected. Later on today, I tried it out again in training mode to see if it wasn’t a fluke and it didn’t appear to be. Can anyone else test this out and see if it will work for them or if there are any other normals that Dhalsim can use while in the air to stuff out the Ultra while he lands?
Edit - Tested it out a bit more, seems as though the drills can stuff it out at the right time.
Whats a good combo to lay the smack down on a zangief that whiffs a lariat?
and can someone help me with this situation…
Zangief jumps in and lariats. I duck and he whiffs. What should i do?
Zangief jumps in for the lariat? Don’t give him the opportunity. Punish his jump in with a TU. If he manages to pull it off, give him combo starting with cr.lk or cr.mk during the last few frames of his lariat…
I’ve found that the best way to handle a Gief is to spam his ass with TS and bait him into using the lariat. This leaves him wide open to a j.hk if you time it right (last few frames of lariat), which opens the door for some ridiculous combo action.
