it’s probably been said many times b4 but great vid man… :wgrin:

Hey nice tutorials…
I’m a bit of a N00b at Street fighter, but I love it… I pretty much stopped playing after SSF2T and have now picked up sf4… so yeah n00b.
I hope you don’t mind but I had a question,
I’ve been trying to get the shoryuken, focus dash cancel into ultra move working.
This is what I’ve been doing…
1.shoryuken
2. on the first hit I press mk + mp
3. while holding mk + mp press back, back (or forward, forward).
4. Then I try to do my ultra. d,df,f,d,df,f + 3 punches.
Sometimes I can get the ultra out, but its ALWAYS too late, the other played has hit the ground already.
Do I just need to do it quicker? Or is there another way to do it…
cheers…
PS - I’m using a HRAP SA ( until my TE arrives in a couple of weeks)
If anyone can help it will be very much appreciated.
cheers.
Nice vids, I really like the conceptual, mindset type type stuff you were saying. Like knowing when to rushdown, and creating advantageous situations, and getting momentum. Any scrub can learn a combo, but what seperates good players from scrubs is knowing when to use that shit. The mental, thinking side of the game is very underrated in contrast to all the flashy shit
bobg… you need to dash out of the focus cancel quicker probably. The ultra doesn’t have to be done very fast but the cancel does. Be sure to hit forward and FA at the same time, then just do one more forward and let go as soon as you start the forward dash. That leaves plenty of time to get the ultra out.
Thanks Digital717,
I’ll give that a go… I think I just haven’t got the coordination of it just right yet…
I only have time to play an hour or so a week… so its a slow process.
cheers.
Thank you sir…I’ll be diong this in part 4! Which is going to be going into zoning a lot more in depth. Corner pressures, footsies and zoning/ground game, when to jump, or when to expect a jump, etc.
Updated my first post to be a bit more clear and concise to newer viewers of the tutorial, also through in the link to my blog, as well as what to expect to see from future tutorials
Really like your vids.
Thanks for sharing!
Can’t wait for this, the other videos are totally awesome and this is the kinda stuff i was gonna suggest for the next video.
Keep up the great work man, appreciate it.
Mickey, I’m looking forward to your next vid. I think this will help me with my Ryu as my biggest problem is ground game from footsies range. Once inside I can block string and such but getting to that spot without using a jump in is what I’m having problems with. Keep it up man!
Thanks for the lovely vids Mickey.
I played SF when I was a little kid, and recently picked up SF4.
I’ve grown up a bit though (21 years old atm), so this time I’m taking things a bit more seriously, and started to learn most of the bread ‘nd butter combo’s. After that, it’s time to learn how and when to apply them…
Really loving SF4 and the things that surround it (even though we don’t have a "SF4 scene’’ over here in Holland) and your vids are really helping me out, making me enjoy the game even more!
So keep 'm coming, and thanks again!
awesome. Thanks
I think it would be great to talk about spacing and zoning correctly with fireballs. I often end up doing a fireball but eating damage from a jump over. Sometimes im like “WTF? Daigo did it at the same distance and he still could block -___-”
really like your latest blog entry… keep it up!
You can srk, super, ultra, poke between guile’s sweeps. I think I beat his second sweep with a lp once (bad srk execution). You can sweep easily when not online, but I find that it’s hit or miss with the lag.
You said he does his flash kick immediately after? That’s prime punishment oppurtunity right there. Big combo if you have your links down, or f.hp xx hp srk. If he’s too far, you can at least sweep and get him with crossups (meaty) on wakeup. I’m pretty sure you can avoid his c.HP if you time it right, and either make him whiff a flash kick or straight lose to your j.mk
Thse vids are very helpful
These vids are pure gold!!! thx alot!! :wonder:
Thanks! The videos were really helpful.
great thread the ryu videos helped alot
