Ryu Tutorial Video

Damn, understandable but not what I was hoping for. Hope you get sparked again to share someday.

this is not to blast mickey but to give encouragement

mickey, we can’t make everyone happy but if you want to take a break it is understandable

and about rewarding or unrewarding it is not for you to see but for others to tell, did you get to read how many people did improve their game after watching your tutorial?

look if we miss the point on what you are trying to say, tell us then since we don’t all see in the same view as you do

if you are good then you won’t stop, if you really want to help then you will continue too.

hope to see more of your video soon

Nah man, you guys are great. I know you guys appreciate the videos, but there are some people around here in which turn me off to even wanting to help others. People want to criticize, and tell me that I’m not doing things right…or some people have “problems” with my videos…I’m tired of getting harassed as if I was doing something wrong.

I make the videos to help people, and though there are many who I help, I hate hearing the handful of others that say that I’m not doing a good enough job…

lol, one guy comments in the first video I made “let me teach you how to teach the beginning of what your teaching…how do you link c.lk, c.lp, c.hp?”

It’s so ridiculous…it’s so unrewarding in that for every 1 person that tries to bash up on me, it takes away from me wanting to even make new videos.

I’m sorry, but what the fuck, guy? The person you quoted disagreed on an issue in your video, and you act like he insulted you. You can be wrong. He can have a good point. There’s no need to act like it’s not allowed.

It’s a childlike mentality that punishes others because of a spat with one person on the board, Mickey. You do good work with your videos, and they are a privilege to have here. The minute you hold the next installment out because you can’t handle that argument, and take it out on others, is the minute it loses it’s value. Don’t treat people that have nothing to do with said argument as if they are involved and need to be punished accordingly.

It’s so ridiculous…it’s so unrewarding in that for every 1 person that tries to bash up on me, it takes away from me wanting to even make new videos.

Ignore haters, dude. Seriously. Just go about your business. There are plenty of us who learn a lot from what you do.

wow, i didn’t know that someone actually say that, should it be like how to cancel c.mk to hadou? lol

anyway, yeah there are always critics mate but not sure if you want to take it to the heart, i mean you made the video and we know it is not easy, we appreciate it but keep it up mate, others need you

sorry mickey i really wanted to play you but i was in a middle of a training session with a guest

hopefully i will have a chance to play you next time!! thanks for the invite!

I was speaking on the other thread about exactly this. what can be aply to your opponment depend of the quality of your opponment.
you can deal with blank ball because blanka you are facing is making it too obvious.
the lp blanka ball is nearly the same distance as his df hp sweep.
if a blanka go at this distance and you spam cr lp he can do the sweep.
if you want to react to the ball and counter hit with cr .mp, it might touch you because hp ball is fast enought to make it meaty with your cr.mp

so what you do is doing one step back to give you more room but if they just walk forward you can hado as they will df.hp you…

basically you will finish in the corner… and they will control the distance.

super is realy effective against blanka so effective that when i play strong blanka as soon as i have super they do a roll in my guard to make me use it…

Plus why do you need ex against blanka?
shoryu fadc ultra? yes
ex hado? why?
ex shoryu? why?
ex tatsu? yes in some situation as many blamka like to tech throw but generally you don t jump in against blanka( only safe jump after a sweep/throw if he have ex and only empty safe if he have an ultra)

about mickey video, they are for beginer and that normal they were the first one. you don t start speaking about option select. but personnaly I was happy to watch it as it make you remember basic, and sf4 is all about basic. good defense good footstep good zoning.

mickey if you wana make a video character specific mp me i will share some of the thing i know in some match up.

My wish will be that you do a ryu/ dalshim on(really hate this match up so if you have tips). but if you wana start with a ryu/sagat one, I might help more people

I have a lot of knowledge on Sagat matchup. I’m actually pretty confident. I definitely would love to do something with you to make a video like this!

As for the Sim matchup, I’m JUST delving into it, and I haven’t played any insane sim’s other then fairly good local Sim’s around my area. All in all, I’m gonna need more time on that matchup…

But Sagat, I’m pretty confident that I’ve broken that one down fairly well.

I played Mago 3 days ago , believe me you haven t broken that one

but general strategy about this match up is not so complicate with one basic rule never jump except safe one or except if you manage to make him focus on something else…

but general tips will be good i m sure as this match up is hapening quiet often( with ryu /ryu one …)

hahaha, no not saying that I’ve broke it to THAT extent, however I feel like I’m able to have a good game plan against Sagat’s…

Your right though no dumb jumps! The main thing about this matchup that I struggled with was the ability to compete in a fireball battle…knowing when to compete and when to advance ground was VITAL to learn and understand.

That it, but how will you walk forward against low tiger shot?
fadc is a bad idea as tiger shot recorver very fast and because of ex one( difficult to react at mid distance if it s a normal or ex one before fadc)

all the point about this match up against good sagat is about your capacity of making them afraid of a jump in
and all the goal of good sagat is to make you feel like you catch the rythm and jump in …

but ryu goal should be always the same, push sagat in the corner playing him footstep

hahaha, I think we think of the match very differently…at the same time I don’t play Japan’s top Sagat’s…

Like I said the match has to do with understanding how to gain ground. I deal with shots by contesting them while advancing and gaining ground in order to put myself in a position where I can play a footsy battle.

I rarely jump in…only after I calculate the shots and when my opponent likes to throw them. I also only jump from a range to where only s.hk will hit, instead of uppercut…Primarily the match is all about knowing how to gain ground and playing smart/safe and disciplined.

I’ll make a write up of what I believe the Sagat matchup has evolved in to now a days and send it your way some time…Just give me your word that you’ll actually open up and try to understand how I play it.

Mickey, I love your videos. For every one person that complains, there are ten people like me who love the videos and find them incredibly useful; but don’t comment. Keep up the good work and know that what you do is appreciated!

great videos mickey even though the quality wasn’t the best, it delievers the purpose of a tutorial pretty well

great vids! keep up the good work! looking forward to checkin out #5, and your super street fighter4 ryu tutorials…please

so true. Keep up the good work Mickey, ignore the haters.

Mickey on the bold part,

won’t kara tiger uppercut will cover more distance?

sure I will

Most definitely…Unless I get proven that the opponent can kara uppercut me, I personally feel as if the jump in to gain ground or possible momentum is worth it to me.

All in all, I guess I haven’t played a good enough player who does that to me yet…however I rarely jump to gain ground really, I mainly use dashes or walking forward.
