Okay fella’s after a long break, I’m finally back at it again and collecting footage for videos 4 and 5 which might just MIIIIIGHHHT be a SIMULTANEOUS release.
The 4th video will be about advanced ground game: footsies, fireball game, air control, over all space control with ryu. Where as the 5th video will be about pressing the advantage: knowing when and how to pressure, block strings, punishment options, over all knowing how to make press advantage when it’s given to you.
All in all, I expect the videos to be done around this time next week, or mayyybe a little bit after (as it’s 2 videos). Sorry for such a long recess, but I’m back to start working at it again, hope you guys are hyped for it.
I’m looking forward to it. I still have yet to see any videos of how people do combos on their sticks, and that would be cool to see from you.
I find that your videos make good sense, but are hard to really put into useful practice when it’s just being done on a training dummy. Seeing your annotated match against the Viper was more telling of what is/was capable against that character. Because despite you winning the match, not everything you planned worked out.
Being as good as you are, it would be great for you to just throw a group of matches together and talk over what your strats were…at least against harder matchups. You know, a defensive Sagat, or wiley Vega, and especially (at least for me) Blanka.
Looking forward to the next one, mind talking about some defense for the really new people
Great news Mickey, proper lookin forward to those.
MICKEY D! Looking forward to it!
excellent videos. thx very much for time and effort to do these. i also read some of your blog, also very good.
I made a different video concerning hit confirms here:

Hope you enjoy!
I’ll check it out when I get home, thanks Mickey!
I’m supposed to be revising for my exam tomorrow but another Mickey video? Revision can wait!
Very good Mickey even though I already knew it all. That will defintely help out new players though. I can’t even count how many times I’ve played a Ken/Ryu/Sagat player and they lost by going for uppercuts without hit confirming and then getting severely punished when I block.
Very good, high quality video and tutorial with very practical explication.
Another + Mickey, keep it up.
Hey Mickey, what music is that you have going on in this latest video? I dig it.
Yes, great video Mickey! If there’s one thing that irritates me about this game (I even think “invincible” is hilarious… Still!) it’s the training room music. Having the tunes from “Trauma Centre: Second Opinion” would make hours of linking training so much more bearable!
Thank you for your continued dedication to raising the game of Ryu’s accross the world!
Hey thanks guys for being so encouraging! The music I used as Lone Pilgrim pointed out is from a game called “Trauma Center: Second Opinion”
You guys think that this should go in the first post? It wasn’t really “Ryu related”…and I know that a lot of new people in general could benefit from this video, though I’ve only posted it here in the Ryu thread where most people don’t travel…
All in all, what do you think? Throw it on the first page?
ps: Video 4 will be probbbably completed tomorrow, and uploaded in 2 days!
It pertains to Ryu as much as any character, and since that’s the one we all want to get better at, why not? Anyone looking for helpful Ryu tips will only be too happy to have it in their collection of vids to learn from. Throw it up there.
It should be in the first post. It may not be only Ryu related but being so easy to cancel lk/lp with Ryu makes it a tool every Ryu must master.
Once again, great work Mickey D’.
Wow I’m super hyped about video 4. Currently I’m making it right now, and I’m just so excited for the final product…should be up later today!
cant wait! good job w/ those videos, youve been a big help.
Really excited about video 4, been checking this page all day!
I’m in UK so its alot later here, im hoping its gonna be up before i go to bed, good 4-5 hours yet, you can do it Mickey
