Hard tag Strange. Immediately.
The THC thing also works with Viper.
I was in the lab with Haggar(lariat)/Deadpool(quick work)l/Doom(beam) Deadpool is a pretty good team mate for Haggar. His quick work assist hits low so theirs unblockable potential, it can also be used to extend his combos. And of course good THC synergy here; Haggar can keep the combo going on after words.
Doom’s beam allows Haggar to make a safe approach and get in, and can also extend his combos. Beam also helps Deadpool play keep away, and can cover his teleports. also cutting time DHC into sphere flame is really good too.
Easy 1.1-1.2 million damage combos for Haggar with this team.
I’ve been trying out Haggar (Steel Pipe)/Captain America (Shield Slash)/Chris (Gun Fire)
I found this team works fairly well, DHCing nicely and Chris’ gunfire helps extend Haggar’s combos tremendously. Any constructive criticism?
How’s shield slash helpin’ Haggs?
Well I originally picked it to help Mike “The Body” Haggar get in and just because I felt it was a good assist but recently I was asking around for some advice and a cool guy named Kensanity in the Cap forums pointed this out http://forums.shoryuken.com/t/avengers-assemble-assist-team-thread/137325page-2
So for this reason I’ve decided to keep Shield Slash on the off chance I’m ever dealing with a real block heavy lameo who just wants to chill in the corner all day.
You think Steel Pipe is a good call? I picked it because it does massive damage for an assist and because I’m not a big fan of Double Lariat draining my health or the fact that it’s nerfed but I heard that it’s still pretty good and the optimal assist choice. Thoughts?
Cap doesn’t have a ground bounce I believe. So yeah. Combo. Otg. Call pipe ground bounce relaunch etc. Pipe has absurd block stun too.
Not so useful for Chris though as he can air magnum for ground bounce. But hey. Air combo otg ground bounce pipe into relaunch or magnum into a wall bounce hard knockdown with boulder punches etc.
Tapatalk is garbage.
Never even heard of Tapatalk until you just mentioned it haha.
Yeah that does sound pretty useful for The Cap since I don’t know if he can really do anything except hyper after his OTG. And I mostly picked Chris just because I wanted to use Chris and for his assist so I could keep the Haggar combos going. Gonna keep the pipe groundbounce in mind when I use Cap, though. Thanks.
Chris is good. Put the time in with him. Otg cancel to H boulder loops likes three times. Then otg cancel to magnum here comes the level 3.
Team Authoritah.
Oh damn really? I didn’t even know. Anything else you know about Chris that can help out? I can tell he’s good but I’ve got trouble using him well.
Put taskmaster in the lead and stick Ammy as Anchor instead of Chris?
I’m currently thinking
Captain America/Haggar/ Third
Not sure what third to use, maybe Sentinel, I’m NOT taking Wesker.
My main team at the moment is Nemesis/Strider/Sentinel and I’ve been screwing around with Thor/Iron Man/Skrull, not a bad team by the way, it just has some really difficult conversions.
Best point Haggar team I’ve seen so far was Haggar/Doom/Arthur
Switched up to Haggar/Spencer/Hawkeye and I’m doing well.
haggar shuma and firebrand in that order. my bnb off of a pipe without the corner or meter is 796k. with 2 meters most of the cast dies. and if they live i have time to do another drop kick off of the thc because of the hard knock down from the shuma laser and then x-factor and whatever
What do you guys think of Haggar/Spencer/Arthur? I was thinking Arthur’s dagger assist to cover the middle.
I was on a low tier warrior kick this week and picked up Haggar/Skrull(my main chicken)/Arthur. I think he’s Haggar’s bff. Haggar is an amazing battery and anchor Arthur with meter means the opponent can’t call assists or press any predictable buttons. On top of that daggers are great durability and both help Haggar to get in and extend combos off his OTG.
Bonus points, people get real salty when they lose to this team for some reason.
Would you say Haggar/Arthur is better than Haggar/Hawkeye?
I agree with Haggar and Arthur being BFF. Both have really great synergy together and make great uses of their assists. Daggers assist helps Haggar on lockdown and extending combos from anything provided it isn’t done very late on a combo. Lariat assist helps Arthur on his much needed defense and he can also use it to combo out of his air grab.
Not sure about that, but I personally think Arthur is better because I find his assist more valuable. They’re slower compared to Hawkeye’s Triple Arrows but for a slow character like Haggar, it helps him from the amount of block stun and hit stun it does. I’m pretty sure Arthur is a scarier anchor compared to Hawkeye, so there’s that too.
Yeah you’re right, his assist does work better. Even though Lariat is nerfed would you pick it over the pipe?
Abso-frikkin-lutely. Even with the nerf Haggar only has one assist. If you end up DHC’ing into Arthur (or your other char) the threat of Lariat prevents him from being rushed down for free. Also, if you have extra meter and aren’t fighting someone short like Ammy or Raccoon you can crossover counter into the Mayor and usually get a free rapid fire fist or at least knock them out of their offense.
Now just trying to remember it in the heat of the moment…
I definitely prefer Arthur to Hawkeye for assist. To me his daggers are the new drones, they travel just slow enough that you can run in behind them and start your offense. Comparing his new instant overhead to Hawkeye’s high-low game and I think he makes a better anchor as well.
Alright sounds good, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I was really only using Hawkeye because I heard he was good in Level 3 X-Factor and Greyhound seemed to cover things well but it looks like Arthur is pretty much just a better version of what I was using Hawkeye for. And my other character is Spencer with B assist, for obvious reasons.
Do you have any advice for how to play Arthur?
