I guess Soul Throw can grab things that are invincible so long as they’re not throw invulnerable?
That’s something, maybe. It could possibly do a few things that a normal dragon punch couldn’t.

i’ve tried to Soul trow blanka after a blocked ball it doest work for horizantel balls he ends up too far it only work for raimbow or vertical balls. If he’s in the corner then it does work because he doest go far when you block a horizantel ball.
The speed at which cannon spike comes out after cannon drill is crazy. This one move totally owns so much of my rose game. I have tried many times to punish blocked cannon drills, and been spike every time. If i wait and block, I usually get thrown, hopefully I can tech in time.
I really need to work on my punishing of this move in training mode… because man it really owns me
watch the range in wich she does CS, if she does it upclose then its unsafe all versions if she does it from far depending on the version she does its safe.
Yea its mostly far ones that get me. These people aren’t spacing it ideally so that they are just hitting me with the tip.
It seems that in most cases she can spam it for free from far. If i block, i get spiked if i try to punish. If I block the spike then yes I do have an opening, but since I am usually waitin on the spike she has mixup mental advantage. If she whiffs in front of me I usually don’t know she has whiffed until she is basically out of recovery, and I usually get spiked out of my drill or cr.mp.
Spike spike spike spike spike
You too. I am having the hardest time with Cammy match ups. Also in the air, I think it’s her j. mk that keeps beating me in the air. I only get hit with the tip of her foot.
I’ve soul thrown him on a blocked horizontal ball several times, maybe he was closer to the corner than I thought, it very well may be. But when I play against Blanka I usually keep pestering him and rushing him down so he may have been closer to the corner than I thought. I know for sure however that you can punish a blocked ball with ultra from anywhere on the screen.
Alright, so Blanka requires a more patient and less projectile-heavy game.
Is OP around to update first post at all or should someone start a new thread? It’d be nice to have the info consolidated into a first post, maybe with our opinions on matchup numbers so we can compare them to what the other character forums are saying about fighting Rose.
A note for Cammy:
Far HK or MK can beat out Spiral Arrow. Far MK is a bit easier and beats the tip of it clean, not to mention decent startup speed. Far HK can beat it (or you’ll both just whiff each other some of the times which you may or may not get the advantage off of) but is less reliable and harder to time.
Not that a good Cammy will be throwing out Arrows from across the screen or even outside of close range, but it’s something to remember in case the opponent throws out a random one or they’re thinking you’re still recovering from a previous move.
What’s the best punish, if any, against a blocked spike? Cannon spikes are even more annoying than Ken spammers.
depends on the version she uses, some are even safe on block :arazz:
i guess the best choice would be forward + HK (EX drill would connect but not for much more damage and would use up a oh so useful charge).
was that an online match or offline?
cause latency can change a lot of game mechanics
especially when your trying to Anti-air with Ultra.
as for the croosup, Rose doest have an easy crossup like Sagat does, you have to time it almost perfect againts some character hitboxes
it was online, there was no real noticeable lag in any of the matches but I guess when all else fails, blame it on lag:looney:
this may have been addressed already but what does rose have in response to Bison’s head stomp? obviously soul throw doesnt work, i try meeting it with a j. hp and get beaten, I try c. hp and get beaten, i try sliding out of the way and get hit with the weird purple punch thing, all i know how to do is block, and he can just spam it and chip me to death. I get owned by bisons who arent just bear pawing their controllers.
Try jumping backwards when doinc the hp, works MUCH better. I use j.hk more though since it has better range/is able to hit them from further away lessening your chances of a trade. And Rose CAN slide under the purple thingy, youj just gotta time it right. Rose own stopm happy Bisons, good Bisons though…GG:wasted:
Rose has some good answers for head stomps.
First of all, if Bison is across the screen and he’s got charge… don’t fireball him, but you’ve figured this one out. Like Luigi-Bo said, j.HK is good here because of it’s horizontal range. If you don’t want to go air-to-air with him you can treat like Sim and just slide under it. I think walking/dashing forward/back is also a good solution but I don’t do this nearly as much as slide.
As far as the follow-up goes, I just FA crumple it if he gives it to you. If it crosses up just dash out of it. Slide is a good answer here too, but I think this can be a mistake for him to give you an opportunity to land ultra.
Dammit to hell if there ever was a night I wish I was able to record myself, it was tonight. I was on fire with Rose and Cammy.
ATTN PSN PLAYERS:
If you need practice against a STUPID GOOD Ryu, hit up wArorPEaceS
He only plays Ryu, but his skill with him makes up for that greatly. He does shit I didn’t know Ryu could do and makes it look hella easy.
Learning that playing shitty players all day makes me play like shit as well. But playing peeps like him, I feel like I went up 3 levels since yesterday.
Lol, I’ll keep that in mind. I mainly get cross up happy Ryu’s so I would love to face a solid one.
ok, Claw is starting to be VERY unnerving.
his lp poke is just insane, and i find myself completely unable to put any pressure on him because of his goddamn backflip.
once he has an EX bar, it’s over since i need to watch out for his forward walldive and end up turtling…
any tips on how to approach a good vega ?
His dives do get hit by fireballs dont they? When i’m vega I always tend to dive into them, but i’m not a great vega
