Rose requests v2013

This a little off topic but along with changes what do you guys think of more stages? Like this mod? I think new stages and cosmetic changes would keep the game looking fresh.

Seriously, if anything, They should buff ex spark up to 130 again like it used to be in Vanilla lol.

Buff cr. jab to 40 again like it used to be in vanilla. In that way, her bnb will reach 220 instead of the 186 that it is right now haha.

But she doesn’t need big buffs because she’s pretty mid right now as it is.

Wow i didn’t know she had damage nerfs from vanilla. That would be nice to have those.

yeah but the ex spark was unsafe on hit (-2) and on block (-6)
so since she can now link ex spark to cr.mp, I guess they tough that the damage nerf was necessary

I did some tests regarding Rose with some improved abilities on AE PC

– Regarding people wanting her to have the ability to HP Reflect -> U1 –
I think it would be overpowered.
I modified the damage output of the Ultra so that it does 450 damage alone
With j.HK -> cl.HK xx H.Reflect -> U1 I end up getting…510 meterless damage, anywhere on screen. I think this is a bit to much. She would also be able combo it from Soul Piede…meterless. 2 ways to combo into it meterless ? So if Capcom ends up giving this ability to Rose, is it possible that it might get not only a damage nerf but other nerfs as well ? (invincibility nerf, hitbox nerf, etc…) is it really something that we would like ?

– Regarding Rose have 2 more invincibility frames on EX spiral –
I’m don’t know what to think about it now.
1st of all I changed the invincibility quite quickly by just making the invincibility end at the same time her active frames starts.
By just doing that:

  • I have WAY much easier time bypassing fireballs with EX spiral
  • All shotos cr.mk xx hadouken (any versions of hadouken) gets bypassed easily by Rose EX spiral (max ranged cr.mk into LP hadouken can trade with Rose’s EX spiral which is in her favor)
  • Most normals cancelled into a fireball that’s not a true blockstring, EX Spiral takes care of that
  • Long story short, I think changing the invincibility frames that way makes her have a HUGE advantage over all fireball characters. You need little reaction to bypass fireballs

Of course there are ways to adjust that. They could just make the move Projectile invincibile from frame 1 to 11 and Throw/Hit invincible to frame 1 to 13. That would maybe make it more balanced (didn’t tried it yet tho…going to look into it)

Yeh definitely, I also remember seeing scrapped costume ideas, one of roses was this sort of gothic leather one where her scarf had like organise holes in and was black, most of the characters scrapped costumes are better than the current ones

A good way to balance the u1 juggle is that if you’re opponent is juggles air born the ultra should be halved. Like since it does normally 502 damage it would do some where about 250 damage alone.

Do you think giving rose the reflect property when you reflect a fireball to her soul spirals would make her too powerful? 10% is added for each reflect to SS and soul spark?

Also how would speeding up her u1 and recovery for Rose work out?
If i could get this SFIV thing loaded up on my computer i’d try these things but its not working for me -_-

heh…another thing that no one talked about is that I want Capcom to fix the U1 glitch where the opponent flies away and you still get hit…

I still think the 50/50s in this game should be toned down more. I’d like to see the top characters have to work more to earn their 50/50s or make their mix ups weaker in damage.

Also for Rose i’d like to see
-They change what happens when you use U2 and are hit out of it only to have them going around you. I think after that point should be able to block. You should only get hit out while someone is using a meatie, or maybe a jab. As for throws she shouldn’t get thrown out of her ultra.

-Change the area that your opponent is sent flying when doing a hp.reflect so you don’t have to waist meter for an FADC or change the hit box so it can be used as an AA IF we dont get the soul throw fix.

-Up the damage on cr.lp, and fix the push back on st.mp so we can use the frame advantage.

I’ve managed to change the juggle system so that when the opponent is airborne, the last hit doesnt add up.

So if I hit someone on the ground with only U1, it does 450
If I do cr.HP xx HP Reflect -> U1 it does something around 400
If I hit someone airborne (use as an AA) it does around 380

All this to say that having the ability to use a meterless and faster U1 combo wouldn’t really be game breaking if people can balance the damage output.
But this would open a lot of possibilities as well:

  • Any type of AA projectile -> U1 would work (Reflect a fireball, opponent jumps on your soul spark, etc)
  • Soul spiral trade -> U1 would work
  • Soul piede -> U1 would work

I still havent figure out how the LP Reflect hitbox works unfortunately.

Rose having a 3F cr.lk wouldn’t be that bad.

Fix FA hitbox so it extends to the end of the scarf.
A bit more invincibilty on EX Drill would be nice

If there was slightly more invincibility frames on her EX Soul Throw, her Soul Throw could not be special canceled into, and her focus attack was slightly quicker to reach Lvl 3, I’d be happy. She’s already pretty solid. I don’t think U1 needs juggle properties, but perhaps if the hitbox extended closer to her to prevent people from jumping over it into grab range and/or it had faster start-up, that could help.

hmmm I dont really think more invincibility on her EX Soul throw would be necessary. It’s already very good as it is. What would be great is if her normal soul throws had 2 frames of invincibility like ryu’s LP DP :stuck_out_tongue: but I think Capcom would probably just lower the damage output and dont make it untechable knockdown anymore, which are vital in her gameplay.

Yeah a slightly quicker level 3 FA and bit more horizontal range (since she doesn’t move forward like bison, fei, akuma etc) would be a great addition.

I also don’t think she needs to have juggle properties on her U1. I DO think it needs to be quicker tho (possibly 9 frames) and have slightly less damage in exchange (498 to around 485-80 is not too shabby)

I can agree with that. In general, minor tweaks to her Soul Throw, Focus attack, and U1 would be great. I’m even fine with the range of her FA; I think a quicker FA would be nice to punish characters who Lvl3 FA all day with big ranges (Makoto, for example). I guess I just got used to her kinda crummy FA range though lol.

I think lower damage for soul throw would be an ok exchange for inv. I’d like if they shaved off some frames off her projectile.

over the ae rebalance request thread Emmanuelb has been going trough characters sub forum to see what kind of buffs people would like to see for their characters. He compiled this list for us:

  • Ultra 1: reduce the start up with 2 frames (10)
  • Soul Spark: - L: reduce recovery with 3 frames (49)
  • L: +3 block/hitstun (-9/-5)
  • reduce start up with 3 frames for M (19), and 3 frames for H (26)
  • EX Soul Spiral: reduce the start up with 2 frames (11)
  • cr. HK: reduce the start up with 1 frame (8)
  • cr. LP: reduce recovery with 1 frame (7)

imo she could get more useful stuff than this. My question is: what kind of buffs would you like to see on Rose ? Of course we cannot start asking for 20 buffs but that doesn’t mean you cannot say all the things you would like for her tho.

With this list I think what I would also add (and thx The-Olympian for reminding me this) but I would like cl.mk to be expanded downward so it can hit guy / ibuki / yun / yang (not sure) / juri when they are cr.teching. Also expanding forward j.HP downward so it can hit people crouching when it used as a cross up. These are 2 things I’m thinking about adding to the list right now but I will try to think of anything else that could be added.

-3 Other things i would ask for is.
-reduce her cr.lk start up by 1 frame.
-Make her FA attack faster by a few frames.
-Increase damage on her mk and hk spirals.
-Make soul throw uncancelable off of normal moves. (She doesn’t have any moves that launches so that doesn’t make sense.)

The first 2 I list will help her game more. The other 2 i’ve been wanted since super.

If they just extended the range of her FA alone, I would be happy. More EX Spiral invincibility would be cool, but not terribly necessary. A 3 frame cr. lk would actually benefit her more.

I don’t want any change and happy with Rose the way she is right now. Am I the only one :frowning: ?
