Rose Moveset and Attributes

The j.hp cross up is very strict in spacing so Pasquals got his work cut out for him. Im sure he can do it but if he can do it safely off a blocked SSpiral it will be a sight to see. good luck man.

Hey guys, what does Rose have in the way of safe blockstrings from point-blank range that can do chip? I know if I back up a bit I can do c.mp soul drill as much as I want, but I can’t quite find any way to deal chip damage and be safe from DPs at the same time.

Nope.

the problem with this is shotos and the like are looking for a reversal they can do during your attack sequence. Doesn’t mean they’ll mash on DP every time, so they could suffer chip for it. I say you ditch the blockstrings-into-chip option idea and just use spiral as a poke more. get the spacing down to stay safe. LK spiral is heroic. Rose’s best chip option is spiral xx super -> spiral, but I don’t know if it’s airtight.

Maybe c.lpx3 xx spark would be a good possibility. I can get chip damage after comboing c.lp, c.lk, c.mp. I mean IT SHOULD COMBO, but if I’m preserving meter, then I spark instead. Can possibly follow-up with a long range poke afterward. maybe slide. maybe spiral. I enjoy testing people’s patience.

I was wondering if there were any differences between far s.hk and towards s.hk? Do they have different properties?

F+HK puts airborn opponents into juggle state, after which you can juggle with super. For the rest F+HK has better reach, and hits a bit higher (from up to mid instead of from mid to mid). It’s a good move to keep people grounded.

yeah but you can get swept out of it whereas s.hk avoids low hits.

If you get swept out of it arent you using it at the wrong range? Should be far outside sweep range and I doubt anyone would footsie you with sweeps at that range

I was just wondering something, how many jumping moves can Rose avoid with her cr.mk (not the slide) The reason I’m asking is because I didn’t really notice before how a lot of attacks missed Rose when I did cr.mk, is her hitbox lowered or was I just getting lucky?

Lol, yup. She gets way lower. I haven’t used it to dodge aerials before, but in mirror matches, I’ve countered many far s.HK’s with it.

it seams to me that her hitbox is near the same as ryu/ken cr mk. In that case that mean almost all ‘forward’ air attack ( ryu/rose hk,…) will wiff, and all ‘down’ air attack ( ryu/rose hp,…) will hit

Hmm they reworked Rose sweep ? I’m feeling that the recovery is bad now :, i can get punished by a rekka on reversal.

Blocked piede as well it seems has more recovery.

Is that on block? Fucking rekkas counter so many of Rose’s moves as it is.

My abandoned project regarding Spiral setting up ambiguous crossups will actually happen. The properties seem to be identical in Super so it’s a go.

Oh my… I definitely see the difference. My sweeps and Soul Piedes are soooo slow and clunky all over the place. Only got to play an hour or so though… friggin school work.

God, I played the whole day today. Didn’t use barely any of that Sweep or Piedes now.

Piedes’ especially useless since s. hk has more range and faster recovery.

Let’s talk about vs El Fuerte.

I would use Illusion Spark vs Fuerte because his random grabs own Rose ( the tortilla press).
