The way I look at it, people will find those videos if they’re looking for them. Similarly, people will find this thread if they’re looking for it. I don’t see a difference.
when your orbs are already activated, you need to go for the “simpler” combos (crossup into c.HP->drill) to avoid those pushbacks. they will do plenty enough damage.
oh and don’t worry too much about the “U2 set-ups quarrel” that happened here between the kids. there is already plenty of knowledge to read about in those forums, and most orbs setups showed in the great video by una77 that was on SRK’s frontpage a while ago () still work for AE2012
The perpetrator needs to** REFLECT** on his situation.
People, still give me Rose tips, please, my Rose is average at best.
I’m still trying to understand what do he mean at the end of the video with ultra 3 -_-
Idk if I should put this here but I was in training mode an recorded back throw walk forward a bit then jump forward mk Against Ryuand I can’t block am I going crazy? Or is this already known xD
Weird every now and again I will be able to block by blocking as if it was a crossup but sometimes not maybe it’s something to do with screen positioning but Cammy can block it by blocking as if it was crossup all the time any insight?
If people look at the Rose forums/threads to see if there is anything threatening Rose can really do, then I applaud them. People just looking at the front page of Eventhubs (which the video did make) doesn’t deserve knowing that knowledge.
But it doesn’t have the ones that Trike used except his forward throw setup. And a lot of the setups in general in the video don’t work anymore so you guys have to pick them out for which ones you think work and don’t work (plus timing changes).
I personally have been working on a google document against all characters, preparing for EVO.
You guys don’t understand that Trike has done extensive research on setups, training mode, niconico premium account, talking with the Japanese themselves.
And it only takes one person to ruin it for everyone; what’s there to say if I post my tech against Rufus, Acku won’t make a video demonstrating it again?
I understand where you are coming from, your wishes should be respected regardless if people think otherwise.
I’m a dancer, imagine you putting hours into making choreography. You show and teach someone and you tell them NOT to use the dance moves or show them to anyone. A few days later you see a a group of kids doing your sequences. It is truly INFURIATING. The person told me that it was no big deal because I wasn’t using it in a show. Its not cool at all, and its worst when people dont understand. To this day she does not understand what she did wrong.
As for research and analysis on characters, and learning match ups. I’m one who likes to go in the lab and do long sets to learn match ups by trial and error. Believe or not I’m not here really just to gain info I’m here to help as well. I myself is currently writing up a match up analysis against the divekick/rushdown characters that give Rose problems. Since I cant make it to ECT this weekend however, I will be going to Big Two #31 next Wednesday and other local venues to validate and test some of my “theories” with some good players. As I said to people before I don’t believe Rose is a low tier or even a mid tier. I believe on letter grade scale she is a solid B on a F to A+ grading scale.
I truly like Rose as a character and I WILL maximize her potential.
The reason I ask if you are done with lending assistance to the lesser skilled players is because I have a unfinished document I’ve made consisting of what I think Rose Bad Match ups are and what to do in them. Example of what I have is anti-dive kick tech, things to do vs Seth’s Tanden Engine etc. When my draft is finished I wanted to contact and possibly to show the advance rose players for feed back to see if I have valid and useful information.
For trolling purpses, I did a meaty MP reflect on a Chun, and it traded with wake-up U2. Anyone ever explore meaty reflects on wake-up? There may be some potential. I’m gonna fool around with it next time I’m in training.
No reason to use a reflect over cr.lk or cr.lp for wakeup pressure. MP reflect leads to nothing, while the latter can set you up for frametraps and option selects.
As someone who loves meaty cr.lk, I realize that. Just wondering if it beats any reversals that other options would lose to. Also, the pushback could be useful for putting opponents into the corner, where Rose excels, especially with U2 pressure
Can someone give me some beginner link combos for Rose
The ones on the first page don’t seem to work anymore?
Frame data says you can’t combo from cr. lk unless I’m doing it wrong.
Frame data in the current generation counts the last startup frame as the first active frame. So a move with 4 frames startup according to the frame data hits on frame 4, meaning it can combo from +4.
Rose can combo cr.lk -> cr.mp, cl.mp -> cr.mp, and cl.mk -> cr.mp. These are her most important links.
i have a quick question because i was reading through the video posts… would it be best for us to keep our tech just to ourselves in this forum rather than putting it up on the front page?
Also i have more time so i’ll look all over youtube for rose stuff and i think there is a rose thread here with counter hit combos i posted early this year. I’ll post it in here.
I’ve found an interesting U2 hardblocking Jump MK setup against Ryu, Ken, Makoto,Gen, Dan, Oni, Dictateur, Evil Ryu and Blanka on the corner (seems to be unblockable on Gen and Dan). But I didn’t found how to MP someone on shoryuken to share my setup with some fellows ??? (don’t laugh i really didn’t)
I also work on hardblocking Jump MK corner setups without U2, i’ve found some stuff, but i can’t make those reliables at 100%, so i’m still working on.
EDIT: I’ve just found another U2 hardblocking Jump MK setup working on: Dudley, Seth, Gouken, Juri, Abel, Viper, Hakan, Guile, Zangief, El Fuerte, Fei-Long and Rufus.
It’s common. The hitstun caused by orbs is quite small, and it overrides the stun that was going on before it connected as combo.
For example:
c.mp hitstun: 20 frames
orb htstun: 10 frames
Normally you could cancel c.mp into EX drill (startup 12 frames or so) because the opponent is 20 frames in stun, but due to an orb hitting rigfht after he is only 10 frames in stun, and thus already 2 frames in block when EX spiral hits.
This screws up a lot of combos. Best thing to do is not get fancy.
Also annoying is that an opponent cant be hit with focus level 3 if he is in blockstun. Which messes up some U2 corner gimmicks where you charge full focus.
Please don’t make a video of this, this is top secret. Thank you.
I found out something in training mode. Its some set ups for U2 Forcing your opponent to block the wrong way. You do a lv2 or lv 3 focus attack or counter focus attack and you wait until your opponent is almost about to fall on the ground. Then you do a cr.lk to make them do a flip, but you must activate u2 right after it. After you slide under them and it can force a shoto to SRK the wrong way for some free damage or cause others to simply block the wrong way.
This setup has been known for quite a while. Keshikaran is especially fond of it.
I knew of this set up for while. Maybe i should have came here to see if it was found already lol. I’ll look for some other stuff.
