Against shotos, just follow up the CH cl.MK with cl.HP instead. You’ll have to cancel the cl.HP into LP Spark instead of MP but that shouldn’t be an issue. Off a point blank CH cl.MK, you can do silly stuff like CH cl.MK-> cl.MK-> cr.MP xx Spiral.
Heh, should have tried cl.hp. Cl.mk > cl.mk sounds crazy lol. Gonna try and incorporate these combos into my game, I give up too much damage by doing cr.mp xx spiral off cl.mk.
CH cl.mk into cr.HP doesn’t whiff on ken and akuma. Only on Ryu
Ryu has the smallest hurtbox while crouching so it whiffs
Ken is a little bit bigger but it can whiff at times
Akuma’s hurtbox is way bigger and shouldn’t be a problem against him
Filipinoman, you haven’t give me Feed Back about the U2 Setup i send you on Xboxlive … You’ve got a problem with it ? Doesn’t work? You don’t care ? Tell me please.
Another Corner Harblocking Setup without U2:
After a Reflect LP, Neutral Jump HK, Jump MK Cross Up (Hit in front) (Work on slow Wake Up)
Is there some folks here who works on hardblocking setups too … i’ll be glad too share, it’s really take a lot of time and work (1 month just to find 4 setups actually) .
When experimenting in the lab recently, I found you can do:
st.cl.HP xx hp reflect FADC, dash or slide forward, U2 juggle, ST (midscreen)
Is this new? And if so is it useful? Haven’t really read much of this Rose discussion. Also, it is character specific and doesn’t work on Adon, Guile or Yang (and maybe others)
After reading some posts maybe it would be better to use U2 for a setup or cancelling a spark instead, although it is a fairly easy way to combo into ultra 2 using only 2 stocks.
I once started a document detailing how to juggle U2 on each character after HP reflect. I found that the most reliable way in the corner was to do a delayed U2 activation (slide may be a good delay) then simply walk into and do soul throw. Midscreen is more iffy, most of the time a forward jump after the FADC juggles them well enough. But it is really character dependent.
This is one of my favorite things to practive in training but I hardly ever land this in a match. The requirement to land HP reflect is kind of hard, you need to hit an attack really close for it. I find that simple spark FADC combos are much more prevalent. But comboing a normal spark into U2 is a one-framer, sadly.
In the corner this gets easier, but what are the odds of having U2 and landing HP reflect in the corner? Not high enough cause I usualy end up doing normal soul throw due to lack of U2 at that moment, and forget it if I do have it
