Rose Combos and Glitches

not sure if this was mentioned but i’ve been foolin around with close s.mk combos and on counter hit it links to c.hp for and does some beefy damage.
i do:
432 damage
s.mk(counter hit)>c.HP>soulspark>FADC>c.HP>heavy reflect>soul throw.

the link works outside the corner too but you have to be pretty deep.

How does the link from reflect into ST work outside the corner? Unless you mean a second FADC, in which i reply there’s probably a more damaging combo with 4 meters and CT s. mk.

i meant the link for s.mk>c.HP.

you would follow up with heavy drill outside the corner.

God forbid someone try to share something with the community. People don’t own tech for their characters. You can invent it, but you don’t have a damn copyright on it. This entire forum is built on collaboration and getting better.

Moreover, do you really think most top players invent the majority of the cool stuff they do? In marvel, maybe. But how hard is it to go into training mode, set it to CH, and look for beefy link combos OFF A MOVE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FRAME TRAP WITH? Should we watch all the top rose videos to make sure to credit someone if they came up with it before we did so that we don’t ‘steal’ from them? Get the fuck out of here. If he had been like “this is my secret tech and you have to give me credit every time you use this,” then maybe I could understand your rage. But you’re just bringing the community down here.

ssj2jeff, thank you for posting that combo. I learned something, I never thought of going for anything other than cr.mp on counterhit.

Can someone explain to me why i’m able to combo cr.mk, slide, st.hk and sweep from HP/EX Soul Spark?

I was play some casual against a friend’s Yun. I went for the cr.lp,cr.lk,cr.mp xx Ex Soul Spark , cr.mp xx Ex Spiral combo. I realized I didn’t have enough meter for the Ex Spiral at the end so I decided to use St.Hk after the Ex Soul Spark instead. When he died I though he try to jump or something but it registered as a 6hit combo.

I tried to recreate it in training mode but failed. I did realize it was a spacing dependent. In training mode if I stand one block or so away from my opponent(corner) and they get hit with and HP/Ex Spark then I can combo sweep, st.hk, ect.

I’m wondering why this possible since the frames don’t add up and I don’t believe the Sparks are meaty.

anyways, i personally cant wait for the +4…the possibilities are just crazy…ESPECIALLY in the corner with meter.

and i agree, some of her frame data seems a little odd to me…like i can do a max range slide, get a CH, and link cr.mp XX ex spiral…when the frame data says its -3 on hit ( which im sure it means point blank) but still, it would need to make up a 7 frame difference…just like far st.mk is +2 on hit, and on CH, if properly spaced, it can also combo into cr.mp…just weird to me…no complains at all though :slight_smile:

It has 8 active frames, which means it can hit seven frames meaty. That would make the frame advantage on hit +4 even without counter-hit. With counter-hit it could be +6/+7 depending on the move’s CH properties.

It is hitting meaty. For a fireball, if it isn’t hitting as soon as it comes out, it’s hitting ‘meaty.’ This is why Guile can do cr.mp xx lp sonic boom -> s.hk and why dhalsim can do long range yoga fire -> s.hp.
