this is true:rofl:
I agree. Everything lines up, but because they end up in a fall animation so it whiffs.
well thats lame
they treat Rose so wrong⌠but thatâs Capcom for ya
if only she could combo hp reflect with soul throw⌠thats would be fun and would turn reflect into an interesting offensive tool.
right now, i see no reason other than being flashy to combo reflect with super, SSpiral inflicts more damage.
this lack of combo options makes Rose a bit boring unfortunately⌠Capcom, listen us!!
i just wanna say thanks for this thread, it has help me get my rose better then what it was before. not i just gotta find an effective way to get Rufus off my back -_-
and im off to search the rose forums lol:bgrin:
you pretty much have to play him at a distance. i still have problems with him but when i get a good connection and i can actually get my combos off hes no problem. lp reflect gets him off your back when he tries for dive strings and if he does galactic tornado then tries to ex messiah you can actually slide underneath safefly since everything else gets beat clean. theres a lot more but this aint the match up thread.
I am proud to say that I beat a 5K GP boxer in a G2 tourney with rose last night.
It was probably my proudest SF4 moment so far.
You had to be XBLâŚI was so going to watch the replayâŚthatâs most of what I have hereâŚboxers and blankas
No replay, I didnât win the tourney.
I have one replay up and its the scrubbiest win EVER, I gave my opponent many mistakes to punish but he was so messed up by my Dictatorâs mind games that he never took the initiative.
I NEED to get that travesty of a replay down, but I havenât yet won another tourney for more CPâŚand that is the ONLY way to replace a replayâŚwin a tourney for the highest amount of CP ever for your gamertag.
:bluu:
What is really weird against that boxer was that I really didnât do anything special. I crossed him up, I empty crossed him and threw him, I used focus attacks when I figured a non ex move was coming, and I NEVER gave him the chance to do headbutt -> Ultra. The only flash I did was FADC -> jab.spark confirm -> Super, but that is childâs play.
I think he was just stunned at the idea of someone picking ROSE in a G2 tourney that he had no idea how to handle her.
hehe nice one
Anyone here use jump in HK, s.HK xx lk drill xx super? It did nice damage and I found it useful when the opponent was in the corner. Iâm pretty sure theres much fancier things you can do but I was just wondering if anyone else here uses it. ^^â
I use stand hp since it doesnât whiff on crouching peeps.
Ah ok yeah I see what you mean about the whiffing, just tried replacing the s. HK w/ the s. HP and it works out nicely, I think it does the same amount of damage aswell.
Close RH does 100, close HP does 90. If theyâre crouching though, the RH will whiffâŚso youâre better off sticking with HP for consistencyâs sake.
Yeah, I have used that before, or the alternate is to replace the drill with a light punch soul spark.
I picked up a combo from Roseâs hard trials that I have been using when I get a punish opening:
j.rh, c.mp, EX spark, EX focus (lv.2), Ultra
NowâŚI will admit that often I mistime the focus and either get a LV1 (no ultra/super can follow) or I overcharge and get a blocked lv.2âŚbut if I KNOW that I overcharged, often the other guy is still blocking and I can get the LV3âŚwhich resets the combo scaling and then they eat a LV3 focus -> Ultra.
Its a nice combo to spend meter on imho.
have been thinking to add EX spark -> level 3 FA to my arsenal too. It might very well surprise scared peeps. Ofcourse they will catch on soon, but really, a crumple, thats good damage for a shenanigan.
The problem with canceling moves (normals or specials) into a FA is that the FA wonât have armor properties. Any attack they hit you with will interrupt the FA instead of getting absorbed.
A possibly better way to use FA offensively is to make your opponent block 2 or 3 jabs and then go into a level 2 FA. Alot people will try to sweep you when you stop jabbing. Since this is a normal FA, it will absorb their sweep and hit them before they can recover. Plus it doesnât require 2 bars of meter. You could try charging the FA to level 3 but most opponents tend to jump away before this can land.
On a side note, Iâve had some success FADCâing normal moves into a throw. For example, if I see someone who tends to block my cr.mp XX soul drill, Iâll mix in a cr.mp FADC into a throw. This seems like the only reasonable way to use the ability to cancel some normal moves into an FA since this type of FA has no armor.
Just out of curiousity, why is Cr.MP -> drill preferred over CR.Mp -> lp soul spark? I know it does more damage, but it isnât even close to safe on block and most Roses Iâve played will do it regardless of if the cr.mp is blocked or not.
The slow ass soul spark is not really safe on block eitherâŚI switch up between the two.
The light punch SS is more safe than the others, but still very punishable.
IMHO, if they want to get rose off the bottom tier, her drill needs to push back so its safe, and her soul throw needs to not get stuffed by jumping kicks.
Yeah, it does more damage and it knocks down. Itâs not always unsafe, depending on the version used and distance, character youâre fighting etc. You could also bait reversals by FADCing backwards.
cr.MP > soul spark doesnât capitalize off of your opening enough. You got in, you did crappy damage and theyâre still standing. Not so great.
