They should release a stand alone mercenaries game. With beefed up options, more characters, and more levels. I’m sure a lot of people would go for this.

Let’s hope they will patch and improve the partner AI. The fucktwat ran into the sun laser 3 TIMES in Chapter 4-2.

I do use wesker…Idunno but to me it feels like they take longer in this game to reload…then again I used the trick in RE4 where I’d throw a grenade then bring up the inventory to pull out my mag and reload only to have the reload animation cancel due to the explosion. helps cancel out the lag. too bad I can’t do that anymore. :annoy:

I do the licker beta spot in 5-2…easy 12.5k there and only takes me a few min to run through it.

I was just about to post this. For those who don’t know, there is a save point at the beginning of that hall. Kill the lickers, pickup their jewels, than quit and save status. When you use the Continue option, you’ll be right back in the hall. I use the fully upgraded magnum (the first one), and it take me about a minute and a half each run. Its definitely the fastest non-glitch method.

yeah I love it…did it for about an hour and snagged me a ton of money…then I had buyers remorse when i got the gatling gun…I’ll soon do runs through it to snag me my guns I’ll need for veteran soon.

Hunk/Krauser team = win.

Resident Evil 5 is a great game, don’t get me wrong.

But who in the holy hell at capcom had the brilliant idea of adding in a AI partner? An AI partner who has the approximate IQ of that dog who ran into the wall when he woke up from a dream no less.

I am playing on hard so admittedly I am asking a bit from the AI, but at the very least I expect them to not be complete idiots. Case and point:

  1. She loves using herbs. Just loves it. I’m not sure if this a telling tale of some previous life of substance abuse, but honestly don’t give her a herb…unless you want her to giggle and spray it everywhere.

  2. Apparently her 9mm is the best weapon for EVERY situation, including rabid zombified hyenas, psychos with chainsaws and large mobs. Until her ammo runs out that is.

  3. Cover mode to Sheva means, “Go run way with half of the human players weapons and loot and get yourself gangbanged by zombies and/or zombie dogs,” mode. Boner not intended.

  4. When the human player shouts for you to follow them or come to them they actually mean you should stand there for a few moments then run back to where you were, usually a place where the human player cannot trade items and where you’re vulnerable to once again get violated by the undead. Again, boner not intended.

  5. When enemy numbers are high and odds of surviving are low…stand there and stare at the wall like a bewildered dog caught in the middle of a surprise party. Proceed to get bent over by more undead.

They should have just made the game mechanics identical to RE4 and stuck them in the new engine with the new story and locale…I just wanted a stunning conclusion to the Umbrella story arch but the fubar’ed AI and new mechanics associated with it is getting in the way of that.

Ugh, I know I’m playing on hard, but I expect the AI to carry at least it’s half of the load and not be completely stupid. I’ve only died once and I’m nearly done chapter 2, but she’s died over 12 times! So is anyone else frustrated with how Capcom fucked up the RE formula?

Finally finish the game last night with a friend from NY. co-op makes this game so much enjoyable. After beating it , I give this game like an 8 out of 10. Gave me this ugghh feeling. I’ll try merc’s and see how that goes~

other than dat, beat the game last night, we’re already at 3-2 the second time around. I wont be playing the game again untill sunday but that better than playing with ai.

Also, Sheva/SHOBBA! isn’t stupid. the AI in the game is. Chris as an ai partner does the same shyt.

yo I forgot but did re4 mercenaries had those time thing on map?? its fairly confusing in re5. I am wasting too much time running around looking for them shits. for now I am beating all the stages with OG chris. fucking magnum owns all “boss” characters for free.

yeah RE4 had time bonuses. You picked them up instead of doing a melee attack. The stages however seemed simpler. all I need is to beat the prison with 40k to get Wesker STARS.

Stage feels confined :mad:

yeah I know I had to pick them up but were they on rader?

got owned in ship stage :bluu: only tried once though…I am sure I will find my way out. I saw 2 rpgs…guessing I need these to stop random chainsaw nigs.

ok that I forget. ah yes when you looked at your radar the action was paused and you could see the whole stage.

ship stage annoyed me. but the prision so far is the toughest. very little open room.
