sony isn’t imposing VR play on the consumers [well, they kinda are lololol], it’s more of an optional experience especially for those who can afford it ala tony stark-like futurists.
devs have mentioned that it can be played without the VR component, to each his own i guess.
tone and atmosphere help facilitate games of this genre. how did you think the silent hill series became so well regarded in this aspect?
noobs got no respect for how the masters execute their craft, always whining and bitching.
well, there’s always the mario games for you but like it or not, survival horror is evolving again [with one of the landmark games in the gaming industry, no less] and because that’s what it will be going forward.
stupid non-believers like you will be left at the station, byeee…
I will never get the argument about how so-and-so is not a Resident game when the series itself has been through its fair share of overhauls
RE1 and RE2 is different from RE3, where it’s different than RE4, where it’s different than RE5, where it’s different than RE6.
I dunno about that.
Re1-cvx are similar enough that they logically are grouped together.
Re4-6 are similar in that regard.
Totally different franchisee as far as I’m concerned. Old re and new re.
Now we have new new re, which, as an old re fan, I welcome. Old re cannot be replicated. Shinji isn’t with capcom. That doesn’t mean re can’t be good again, its just not going to be like it was.
It was always goofy as hell with the only unsettling thing being the lack of resources, and how fast said resources are used up.
If I want scurry I go SH, not RE. I go RE for the goofy ass shit thats in every game, and the characters that spit one-liners straight out of a C-rated horror film.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure people pissed their pants when they played their first Survival Horror game, whether it be RE, SH, PT, or whatever.
My first RE was RE2, and coming from a Nintendo background with Super Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, etc. there were numerous times my bladder was on the brink of exploding.
Re is about creating jump scares and has good atmosphere. At its peak it had a aristocratic horror feel that felt unique.
It will create the sense of safety then bam. So once you realize there’s jump scares you begin to wonder when the next one will be and you start to be more attentive, and as soon as you feel normal again it happens.
Its pretty intelligent honestly. Resident evil is atmosphere and pacing.
The first zombie had in that tiny ass room had me shook as a kid not gonna stunt lmao. Over the years I’ve found it easier to displace myself from the situation in that 3rd person camera view though. 1st person camera is a pretty legit way to bring back some tension. It fucks with your field of vision(IE; What’s around the corner?) and it’s harder to map out a strategy in a room full of enemies.
RE2 use to give me nightmares. The mutated Willaim Berkin was the scariest 10 year old me had ever seen in a game.
Here’s how you get the axe. When you playing as the camera man in the VHS tape look between the fridge and the microwave and crouch. You will find a lock pick. Use the lockpick on the locked drawer in the kitchen. Once your done with the tape head back to the kitchen and you’ll find the axe in the drawer.
How To Find Axe:
When you’re playing the video, the lock pick is in the kitchen on the floor in between something. Its on the left wall on the ground. Kneel and youll see it. Its kind by the bird thats in the microwave or whatever, but on the floor.
Go across the kitchen, there will be a drawer to unlock with the lock pick. Once you’re out of the video, you can go to the same drawer and pick up the Axe.
-there are some differences in the VHS and real world, you can interact with objects in the vhs ie lockpick-axe
-the finger is either a compass or you can burn it somehow
the axe does have a purpose, when I used it on some pictures I heard footsteps in other rooms so this triggered something
the headphones in the VHS world seem to have a purpose
I think you have to do things in a certain order
you can avoid the family man after the phone call by crouching and staying next to the wall, I think this is more of a glitch since the game didn’t intend for you to avoid him but people have been claiming that did the phone call and it seems to be based off of what she says that effects the ending and that some people haven’t gotten the family man
the pictures on the wall seem to be a clue
in conclusion you have to do things in a certain order to get the endings, the best ending is apparently you leaving the house unpunched
