It probably had the best mercenaries mode, and it was very fun for couch co-op. I especially liked the inventory trading that they ditched in the 6th game. The limited inventory space was a challenge too. Me and my friend ended up assigning 2-3 gun type exclusively to one another so we could make better use of ammo drops and what not.

What do you mean by " completed" as far as I know no one has been able to finish it yet

I really wanted to like this demo but there’s nothing to it, 6 rooms of nothing with 2 game over triggers. It was scary for the whole of 5 mins until I realised there’s nothing that’s actually going to come after me. I’ll still keep an eye on RE7 though as even after 5 and the little I played of 6 it’s a beloved franchise to me but this demo really didn’t do anything for me, 2 5 minute playthroughs of an empty house isn’t gonna sell me on something.

So Capcom is really going to back Survival Horror with RE7 based on the demo?

What you see in the demo isn’t part of the main game. You could very much say that it’s a “tech” demo for the things to come , just giving you an idea of how RE7 will play like.

its interesting how capcom seem to be releasing a non combat resident evil, well to be honest I know there will be a point where you’ll be able to attack/shoot things. theres no way they’ll release a resi game with absolutely no combat

It does have combat , both melee and ranged (firearms). You can find a axe in the demo to use as a weapon and
aim assist has been discovered by @Hawkingbird in the options menu. 110% guarantee that there will be firearms.

I haven’t played the demo yet. its downloaded though, might give it a try

Yeah I know I just feel there wasn’t enough information given to me on how RE7 will play, what makes it RE? what makes it different to other first person spoopers out there? How effective are weapons against enemies? etc.

You can find an axe in the demo but can’t really do much with it

They said the demo is a tonal demo. They want to show that horror is front and center

We will find out soon, i’m sure. The game isn’t far away at all. fuggin’ January! Time is gonna fastforward and that shit will feel like we waited a month tops.

I will say this though… The idea of playing this with a VR excites me sooooo much. Like… Ki shima VR boner lvl much.
Just imagine walking around in a huge dark mansion like this and you run into a zombie , just so you can pull out dat magnum

I loved RE4, it was new and i was scared as a 14 year old

RE5 was a fun co op if you didnt think it was RE

RE6 was crap

This shit right here? This is so creepy, isnt relying on jump scares, just the whole vibe screams “you’re fucked if you dont gtfo”. I cant imagine keeping clean underwear while using VR to play. I love it

As fun of a prospect the VR could be for RE7, I am not going to dish out $$$ until I see other games making a case they would be better played on the VR.

can’t understand why the demo is getting people miffed and confused.

anybody seen alien: isolation in 2014? it had very minimal combat and emphasized stealth over direct confrontation. it also emphasized exploration and item management to be able to survive. the level of immersion in that game was sick and the experience was top notch from start to finish if you were a fan of the franchise because it def felt like a lost episode.

this RE 7 demo has the same atmosphere and really keeps that feeling of dread looming all around since the environment is so grimy and in disarray.
gtfo with that motion sickness bullshit excuse, this is the new style and face of survival horror. epileptic seizures and vomiting aside, this is only for players with nerves of steel so to speak.

Pretty much because anytime anyone describes it like you just did it doesn’t sound like Resident Evil. even if they’re just creating atmosphere haunted manikins sound incredibly stupid in this universe and if that’s the tone moving forward that’s not good news.

Read the facking posts instead of posting shit. What you see in the demo is purely for show and has no relation to the main game.
