Yeah RE4 not only revitalized Resident Evil but most people forget it set the standard for modern TPS games. Which makes me curious how this new game from him will turn out. The publisher is Bethesda and I’m not much of a fan so we will see how that collaboration turns out.
I’m a huge RE fan so I can’t help but feel stoked for RE6. I thought RE5 was good for what it was and the co-op was really fun. I remember the day it came out my friend and myself picked it up and played until 3am.
That right there is what bugs the shit out of me. It pissed me off a bit seeing reviewers say that RE5 was aping its TPS scheme from other shooters when RE4 was the originator of it. Its like it slipped people’s mind.
maybe those “reviewers” never played RE4…:shake:
He also did work on Shadows of the Damned, another great game no one played. I bought it new, and just managed to beat it a few weeks back because…well, I’m lazy.
I still need to play RE5 it can’t be as horrible as most of you say it is.
its not horrible
just not as good as every other RE game
I totally slept on that game, something I need to play at some point. A lot of hidden gems in the gaming market, they just don’t get the exposure they deserve when compared to AAA titles.
Shadows was a decent game. The dick jokes are way overdone.

Yea, RE5 isnt bad at all honestly.
These anti-capcom srk clowns just have unrealistic expectations when it comes to games in general. Its better to just play shit for yourself.
To be fair its more so that the anti-capcom srk clowns, as you said, are tired of the state of Capcom lately hence there hatred towards all things Capcom.
Survival takes a back seat to action and learning to deal with AI Sheva takes some getting used to. Other than that it’s one of my favorite games from this generation. I sunk a lot of time into grinding for money for upgrades and playing Mercs.
RE5 is a fun game if you think of it as a co-op Action extravaganza.
RE5 is not a fun game if you think of it as a single player Survival Horror title.
I used the first line personally, and it never felt like wasted money in that regard.
A show of “likes”, How many of you think that Mercenaries mode (based on RE5 to start) is sustainable as it’s own XBLA/PSN $15 game?
I really effing love Mercs.
If they incorporated a four player mode as well as co-op my answer is yes. I just think a four player GoW style horde mode knock-off would be cool.
^Not to mention the Revelations (right? 3DS joint) variation on the mode. And they could improve the Versus mode started in RE5. Plus it could introduce classic baddies such as Tyrant, og dogs, giant spiders, plant thangs, iron maiden, etc. I mean yeah we’ll end up with shit like this from Capcom:
“Coming soon! The Resident Evil 2 Mercs Complete pack featuring RCPD Leon, Claire, Hunk, and Ada Wong playable characters. A brand new set of maps featuring Raccoon City Streets, (I never played through all of RE2 so just add two more classic locales for me). And new enemies including classic Licker, Tyrant, Plant Thingies, and Giant Ass Spiders! 640 Microsoft Space Bucks or $8 Real PSN Dollars!”
I have no shame in admitting that I would contribute to this monster.
Wtf you only made it through the streets part of RE2 before you gave up? The police station that takes 10 minutes if that to get to and dominates the game never came up?
- Desolated Streets. 2. Racoon City Police Department, if we need a specific area I’d say main entrance or the Rooftop. 3. Either the sewer system linking the PD to the Umbrella Labs, the Umbrella Labs area (Test tube section preferred), or the Train Elevator.
I am literally shaking my head FC.
Also boss battles between or in certain rounds? We shouldn’t encourage this talk though my wallet is all sad looking in the corner.
I just never finished it I’m sorry. I had a guide and everything too.
Now if we are going the Horde route then yeah we would have boss battles. But for normal Mercs you could just surprise the player L4D style randomly. Like “Oh, you guys are doing well? How about TWO tyrants!”
We should encourage this talk. People love the shit out of Mercs and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be expanded. You have a huge cast of lovable characters, tons of locations, and tons of enemies after what like a dozen effing games?
I’m just tired of seeing things I really enjoy get the business boot and turned into bleh, really it’s kind of been EVERYTHING lately and I’m all mellow and trying not to get excited.
Although if the RE2 sewer map had the Giant Alligator as a Horde boss they can have all the money. I’m still waiting on a OTS RE2 remake that will never happen.

new gameplay in JA skip to 5 minute mark.
I like how all of those zombies made an effort to come running towards you then once they get close, they just stand there looking like ice heads.
