Colt Steele and I both had an opportunity to really dig into Mercenaries last night. It took a few tries but we got our combo up to 65 (though I think most of it was CS’s work). Damn this mode is fun, I just have to learn these stages.

My only problem was how often I was running out of shotgun ammo. We’d both immediately drop our pistols but most of my enemies were dropping pistol ammo. Couldn’t believe I had to resort to using the knife sometimes.

If you really want a highscore, you have to melee kill everything. Melee kills earn +5 seconds, you get a bonus of 1,000 points for every second you have leftover after you kill all 150 enemies.

Oh, I got lucky I guess (although I missed the bad blood achievement first time through)

Does that only work online? When my friend joins in offline, all my AI’s infinite stuff just goes to my inventory and they start with basically nothing.

:confused: Then how do YOU aim in re5? wasn’t it always the left stick to aim?

anyways, whats your strategy in the village and experimental for getting an SS rank?

me and allen (vasaznion13) can barely reach 100K for those two stages.

our strat so far in the experimental was to collect all the timers, go to the elevator, camp there, build a 50 hit combo, then take the elevator when theres no more enemies. by then, the timer is running very low though.

I didn’t know that, although I was already doing a lot of melee kills (I’m just that way - KEEPIN’ SHIT PERSONAL!).

So which PS3 players got the Versus Mode DLC?

It was a dual effort. I blew up baddies in chunks with grenades but you kept the combo going most of the time. I get too caught up in punching hourglasses and trying to bottleneck Africans to keep any real consistency without a partner.

I’m the best Experimental Facility player in the US haha :rofl: Just stay separated from the each other the whole time with double Battle Suit Jill and you’ll get an easy 400,000 points. :tup:

Same strategy for Village as well, just stay far apart from each other with double Midnight Wesker and Cobra Strike everything.

For an SS score on any (Duo) stage in Mercenaries the Combo score does not matter, just kill with melee as much possible and stay far apart from your partner.

In Mission 5-3, how can I tell that I’ve dealt enough damage to Wesker so that I can start concentrating on Jill? Does he give any signs?

Easiest way to do it is to shoot him with the rocket launcher and shoot the rocket when he catches it. That ends the fight immediately and you get the bad blood achievement.

He leaves the battle completely.

can I “farm” rocket launcher in chapter 3? finished veteran mode today without cheating/infinite ammo. I might play again but I def want some infinite ammo. unlocked dylan minigun used by the governator in T2 :cybot:

also you get 10k from the dragon boss in the ancient ruins and flash grenade rounds is the easiest way to kill it. thats a great farming spot. rotten egg route is probably quicker though(I dont know I didnt try it yet).

Whats even more ironic is how disappointing it is to have him not be able to find you when you are a standing still, listening to him tell you how disappointed he is of you and how you can’t hide forever.
This happened to me on my first fight with him. I think he got stuck on something and I ended up just standing around.

So am I really the only PS3 player who got the Versus mode? I was hoping to get a group of four people together to work on the 40-kill chain in Team Slayers.

Yeah, I noticed today when the battle ended abruptly. Nice little gem he left for me too.

Anyone notice you can glitch inifinte weapons? Could be just a weapon glitch but mine happened with a fully upgraded H&K PSG-1 w/inifinte ammo. Just before you get to 5-3 with your first Wesker encounter, I gave Sheva my H&K PSG-1, saved and restarted from 5-1 because I wanted the bad blood achievement (thank you Kusanagi02).

With the H&K equipped to Sheva, I equipped it the new H&K from 5-1 and it was automatically upgraded and given infinite ammo. Now I have two?

Did I come across something new or am I twenty-five pages too late again? I’m guessing this works just like the rotten egg glitch but better?
