"Removed!" - The Decapre Combo Thread

I slept on it, Woke up, thought it was just a bad dream then realized it wasn’t.

Now I’ve come to accept the fact that its gone and we’ll never get it back.
All in all, I guess having an ultra that both forced your opponent to play the neutral differently and could be comboed into on demand was a little too good to be true.
Baconface is still very much playable though IMO.

Desk was able to do it from a far standing jab on gen.

doing it after a jab is really easy after cr.hp. Most st.jabs after cr.hp/cl.hp seem to hit meaty actually.

So you were able to link ground U2 from jab?
Interesting, Ive been trying to do it from raw st jab and no results. I’ll try it your way.

easy test on standing twins should be cr.lp, cr.hp, st.lp u2. it’s not too hard to see what visually hits meaty

May I ask a question. After the nerf of Stinger charge time, is it possible to do the combos
FA lvl2, back dash, Ex Scramble, HP Break, Spiral Arrow, Stinger anymore ? I saw Uryo did that combos before but idk with the current 10 frame extra charge time, is it viable now ?

u cant do the stinger at the end of that combo anymore. Only the DP and AA U2 charge have been increased. All Razor slices and spirals arrows havent been affected.

So i just found out that cl.mp, cr.lp, cr.lk xx stinger no longer works (Thanks Capcom (!) ).

you can still stinger at the end of the juggle combo, it’s just harder to do.

Ok I’m a long way out of my depth (Prior to buying ultra my only experience of street fighter was the flash version of sf2ce on kongregate) but in case there are other people on here who haven’t got the hang of combo execution yet I have found that j.hp > cl.hp xx rapid daggers actually works (and can be achieved by jumping and simply mashing hp)

If you just want a really simple jump in combo that you can just mash out I would recomend using :mp: instead after you land. it will give you more damage and is slightly safer on block (still unsafe on block). But the first thing I think you should learn when it comes to Decapre combos is :mk: in to :lp: daggers, but that is just my opinion I don’t know what people that are actually good thinks.

I would just get down target combo 2 into air throw… never a good idea to try learning a character by mashing a button…

I can’t do cl.HP linked into cr.MK for the life of me. I am trying my best to plink and I just can’t get it even when input display shows that I’m properly getting two frames of MK. Any tips?

It’s not an easy combo. All you can do is practice.

This might be obvious to you but if the cr.MK never actually comes out, delay your input very slightly. If it comes out but it’s not a combo, do it slightly earlier. Alternatively, keep in mind that after focus crumples, you can always get cr.MP instead of cr.MK. It’s a 2 frame link instead of 1 frame which is considerable easier. Alternatively you can also use cr.LK, it’s an even easier link (3fl if I’m not mistaken), it has a slightly longer horizontal range than cr.MP and it connects into stinger regardless. It’s not maximum damage but if it means you’ll be doing it 100% it’s worth going for.

Remember you’re trying to hit these buttons within a milisecond of eachother
Just practice plinking in general before you practice the combo, just sit in training and look at the input
You’ll get it eventually

Like why practice that combo though, in what situation is it optimal?

0 bar, character specific better combo immune, cl.hp cr.mp immune, have to kill, nothing else will kill, and the other character is dizzied or crumpled?

there are 10 other things to worry about before that
