Real Urien Unblockables/combos

latouche: You forgot fierce headbutt after rh kneedrop.

glass : I have no idea how to help you if I don’t know what exactly is it that you’re doing wrong.

… Yep, true.

c. FP / MK tackle xx FP aegis / RK tackle can have them bounce on the wrong angle, or even the wrong direction depending on the character & timing used. The best example I can think of for this is Q, mainly because he’s the only one I know of in which I specifically have to make my timing of the RK tackle slightly later than normal. If you don’t do this, he bounces the other direction than normal. That being said:

If you’re getting different results on the standard unblockable (ie, above + dash + mp hb) such as not being close enough to headbutt over, etc – It’s simply a timing issue and you’re not doing it consistantly enough to get it 100%.

anyone care to answer a few questions:

  1. can gouki get out of unblockables by teleporting? mid screen and corner ones? im sure i saw match do it in a vid.
  2. same as above but with yangs teleport?
  3. why talk about whiffing the rh tackle after the aegis when going for the mid screen unblockable? is it something to do with certain chars waking up too early so you cant do the second tackle?
  4. anyone know how to do a corner mk tackle, mk tackle, headbutt after a c hp?

thanks all

  1. Yes…

  2. I don’t play yang, but don’t think so.

  3. Only instance I know where you want to whiff is c.HP, tackle xx aeigis, dash, whiff tackle underneath, then push them back into aeigis for unblockable.

  4. Really tight charge buffering. Read more threads.

For others: about #1, If Akuma does a teleport to escape meaty aegis, could you spit out another aegis during teleport to stop it? Free combo perhaps? Might be a waste, but hey… it’s damage?

  1. Akuma can teleport midscreen unblockables on reversal frame, meaning it has to say “REVERSAL” on Akuma’s side. Although technically possible, you can do the same with corner unblockables. However, since Urien crosses up WHILE Akuma is getting up, it’s pretty hard to do the teleport. This is why RX continues to show corner unblockables being done on Akuma.

  2. Yang’s teleport has no invincibility AT ALL, so NO.

  3. Yes, some character get up faster than others. Some sprites allow so that DASH tackle UNDER can occur. You recover faster than if you were to do “standard” unblockable (except that I do this unblockable equally as much against different people, so they’re both “standard”).

  4. I tried to explain as best as I could earlier. Look back on my posts?

I’m having trouble doing the mid screen unblockable. If you do it to the training dummy with default settings (autoguard on), will it break the dummy’s guard and hit him? It seems every time I try, I’m just a little bit short… The critical timing points I’ve found are as follows:

  1. Launch the HK tackle after the Aegis as soon as possible.

  2. Hold the charge just a split second longer than you need to before dashing for the partition. It seems it’s possible to input the dash so early that you still get a dash, but when you finish it, you won’t be done charging for the headbutt. The solution is to just hold the charge a slight bit longer before dashing so that I can headbutt right after the dash.

  3. Begin to dash the opposite direction as quickly as possible. This isn’t that hard to do. Also getting two dashes in a row and the f+MK are relatively simple compared to the rest of the setup.

All this isn’t enough, it seems. I get there just a tad bit too late and Ryu just blocks it all.

The solutions I can see are:

  1. Maybe I can do the HK tackle even earlier somehow? This would allow more charge time, so I don’t have to wait a split second before dashing.

  2. One thing I didn’t try varying is the height of my opponent before the initial LK tackle. Does the height matter?

  3. Something else, I have no idea. Maybe I AM getting it and it just doesn’t work on the training dummy

Finally, I’m slowly getting the double MK tackle in the corner, but I don’t see how I can land a headbutt? Someone mentioned way back in the thread do go from db to df+MK, which seems like it should work, but I tried it and it doesn’t. Since you have to wait a split second before doing the second tackle, that means you would have to before doing to the headbutt, which means there’s no way you have enough time. But maybe you do, I never got that far, I’m still maybe 10% on double tackles :frowning:

will it break the dummy’s guard and hit him?>>> No.

The timing on which you do the HK tackle shouldn’t affect anything as far as when they stand up. As far as I can see, it’ll only affect where the victim lands (too far for dash/hb or other direction w/Q, etc)

Assuming Ryu is just getting up after you finish the 2nd dash, you should have ample time to f+mk. What system are you practicing this on, and are you sure you have unblockables turned on? The only situation in which ryu can block both the aegis and f+mk, is if he was way far out in front of it. This would only occur either by ONE dash and f+mk, or the body being so far from the reflector that you wouldn’t be able to make the headbutt over him. Since I doubt it’s either one of these, it makes me think it’s a system problem.

It is a system problem.
Ereet, read the post before your’s. Latouche is right. Computer in training mode with block/guard all WILL INDEED block/guard ALL. Yet, it breaks their guard in arcade mode…

Ah, the joys of autoguard. I practice on a DC atm so I’ve never experienced anything but blocking with autoguard on. Wasn’t aware it’d be that way with the Xbox/PS2 versions as well.

To answer my own Question, Yes you can spit out another aegis to stop the teleport.

PPP Aegis is only one fast enough to hit him… otherwise you would have to stop him while he is still in the previous Aegis in order to hit him.

drunken master: I stay a bit to the back when hes getting up, when he teleports i just jump/dash back and c.hp him in his recovery

What I don’t get is what rx used on ko. Which tackle did he use (the first and second) and how much time did he need to charge for the headbutt? :wtf:

They were both forward tackles.

He needed as much time as possible for them. On Yun/Yang, it’s particularly strict.

Which tackles did he use ( weak than med. or something else?)

Forward in street fighter means medium kick.

I’ve tried that but I can’t seem to hit him since he falls pretty fast.

Try more.

1st tackle must be early.

2nd one late.

The headbutt is nothing to think about. It comes out in sleep or whatever.

both tackles must be done as soon as possible.
