I don’t know how viable this ub on Hugo is but cr. fp, ex headbut, cr.fp cancel on first hit to medium aegis, light tackle under. This leaves you on the other side of Hugo and he will land into Aegis with enough time where he is sandwiched and must parry out. I’ll post the vid tonight. I never see anyone doing it so maybe it’s not very efficient. It’s meter heavy but easy to do.
Does anyone have a list of what you should do after a UOH to EX aegis in the corner against all the characters? Or if anyone can just drop what they know against certain chars.
Hey guys. When unblockables fail(someone knows how to parry XD) what should I do? Like cr. hp - tackle x hp aegis - rh tackle - dash - headbutt - dashx2 - mixups and junk? Cause it’s frustrating to have them just get pushed out of the aegis. This has been what I’m doing if I’m worried they’re gonna parry out
There may well be some differences. Take for example these two midscreen combos:
BNB1: c.hp, tackle xx whiff Aegis, tackle, tackle, headbutt
BNB2: lp headbutt, EX Aegis, tackle, tackle
In these two combos, I?ve always been able to juggle Ryu further from the corner than the other shotos. I genuinely believe that Ryu juggles from further away than the other shotos.
I guess this is the appropriate thread to ask questions?
I’m just not getting Urien. Holding DownBack most of the time doesn’t feel right. I feel like at midscreen distance I have to rely on up projectiles, crMK, basically just walking in or looking for a good jump in HK into whatever. If I get in try and knock down or combo into Aegis, use LP Headbutt for mixup and to get in, etc.
Can I just ask, as a SF3OE noob, what are my Urien bread and butters in the following situations:
Mid-screen.
Mid-screen with meter.
Corner.
Corner with meter.
Anti-air with meter.
I know it’s standard to go for unblockables but I’m completely new to charge characters and am having difficulty with charge partioning so I was hoping there were some high damage combos I could use until I get the hang of it.
read the OP and following posts. Everything is character specific. The only somewhat universal options are plain cHP, tackle and cHP, ex headbutt, tackle, but they’re so far from optimal in 95% of the cases it’s not even funny
Don’t worry about charge partitioning and various unblockables if you’re a beginner. This is a very common misconception.
Just get used to his pokes, basic combos, when to use them(quite a few of his combos start with cr.HP…which is very unsafe on block), throwing(a good chunk of Urien’s gameplan), and another part of what makes Urien so good: his Aegis corner mixups.
Aegis corner mixups is basically getting the opponent cornered, and activating Aegis either on them or just right in front of them. It’ll give Urien some momentary free reign to use his high/low mixups for some damage opportunities. If you manage to catch them with Aegis hitting the rest, go for cr.HP->Tackle->HP.
Another big problem I’m having is on wake-up. It seems like Urien really suffers on wake up because he doesn’t have a great ‘get off’ me move. What is the best thing to do on wake up? Block and try to tech the throw if it comes?
Best thing on wakeup ist just to block. you can try to backdash or LP Headbutt but i wouldn’t overuse it. the headbutt will beat throws on wakeup but will get stuffed by a proper meaty.
