are those demonstrations by RX practical in a real match? :wow:
Depends which one.
The wanted ones are decently practical to do if you want to do corner unblockables on a specific person.
Iām sorry jimmy-sama, I will have to disagree with you. Itās confirmed that chun-li owns URIEN. Jinjouni Shobou! :wow:
:xeye:
PO
ā¦Did I say Chun couldnāt beat Urien?
Stupid P:karate:!
I donāt like Chun vs. Urien.
Chun is an hard match (she is for every character), but when I play Urien Iād rather fight her than Ken, Makoto and even Alex.
Ken: Dealable for me
Makoto: Only if opponent knows 100% stun; Itās surprisingly easy on Urien.
Alex: I have no problem. Dealable.
Expect updates to the first post soon!
ill play u all for every urien color. original, silver, blue, gold, teal, brown and red.
if i win all 7 colors, no one can play urien ever again on this thread.
Emphy: how do you have āno problemā against Alex?
I think every character is dealable with Urien (besides a good Makoto perhaps), but I find him to be one of the most challenging fight, Alex outpokes Urien, multiple tackles donāt work, he takes damage well and if Urien gets knocked down itās trouble time.
I mean, I get the upper hand when I can start to play Aegis lockdown, but when Iām not charged or Iām not in the right position, there isnāt much I can do.
jumping RH is good, low forward is good, standing Fierce/strong is nice, but I canāt seem to get a dominant position
yeah have to agree with hol horse. When playing against a good alex-player urien has almost nothing to do should he get knocked down. Alex is a tough match-up for our beloved thong-man.
For me when playing Urien i have a lot of problems against 4guys.
Makoto, alex, ken and yang. All others i can handle with the AR but these 4 are annoying once they knock me down once. Iām not saying Urien is not having a chance or so, just that its really hard once i get knocked down by these guys.
Just play safe and patient, guys. You forget that it isnāt instant death after a knockdown just with Alex, but Urien too sometimes. Alex himself doesnāt have that great of wakeups. Patience helps in this match-up, like most others. Even if you were, say, Ken, you shouldnāt be doing blind wake up shoryus anyway. Just treat it as if you were playing a safe ken.
At least think of one plus side: Alexās crouching animation is REALLY wide, which means F+Fierce just got more unexpectable.
Yi:
Iām not saying that itās instant death.
I donāt usually do blind shoryus on wakeup, but at least the threat is there.
With Urien, thereās nothing that really makes Alex refrain from attaking/throwing all the time like having a good reversal would do.
Wakeups arenāt the only things that make the match challenging, btw. If it were only for that, Iād consider Hugo an hard match too, but that isnāt the case (though itās never good to be knocked down with Hugo hovering over you).
As I said above, Alex has many things on his side in the match. No multiple tackles (besides very situational cases) + good stamina mean that you canāt deal big damage fast to him; being outpoked is not good; Alex can actually jump-in decently on Urien (who canāt usually deal big damage if he even manages to hit with an anti-air sphere, at some angles even the first tackle misses.)
I play safe in the match, i play it patiently (which has helped me in a lot of matchups. As much as I like rushing down, a patience game is better most of times.), with lots of meter charging, and trying to control space as much as I can, until I can find an opening to burn AR meter. I had already found that f+fierce overhead works well agains Alex, but thanks anyway for the tip.
bottom line: I can deal with Alex. Itās just that I find him to be one of the most annoying fights when playing Urien.
Perhaps you have no problems because youāre a clearly better player than the Alexās you usually fight (thatās just a random guess, donāt take that to seriously and no offence to the Alex players in your arcade(s) by any means :P)
I find Chun to be less of a chore. As I said before, sheās not easy by any means, and I have no room for error when sheās charged. But at least I āfeelā to be a little more free against her, I can actually counterpoke her (stuffing her damn s. fierce with s. strong feels too good), she canāt get in easily and when I find opening itās always big damage (unless Iām totally uncharged). And the unblockables on her are so easy that I can miss them only on a very bad day or on ultra-shitty sticks.
Ken is harder. he gets in better than chun, he has better tools to escape pressure, he has the damn crossup, his kicks are annoying, and the midscreen unblockable setup is not āperfectā since he is thinner than the other shotos (as already pointed before on this very thread).
Yang is a bitch. Urien has hard time getting out of a good mantis pressure. A bit harder than Yun IMHO.
āMakoto is just too much for Urienā - RX
I think that all characters are very dealable with Urien (except a good Makoto, against whom Urien needs some luck in addition to skill), but you canāt deny that some of the fights ar harder and put Urien at a disadvantage.
Sorry for bad english, itās not my 1st language and itās late night here (must cure my insomnia X_X)
Thread Closed.
PO stupid.
DEBU
and NO, KEN IS NOT THINNER . He gets UP quicker.
urien is dirty fuck that like underage women and unblockable. dudley has secret out of aegis unblockable, DOWN parry. if urien canāt do aegis he lose stupid useless, which means in this instance he is turtle po, see more: tokido.
Quick question.
When I tackle xx Hp aegis, Hp tackle, RH knee (for getting to the other side of the screen), how do I have to charge for an immediate tackle when I am in the other side?
I know I have to charge when Urien is doing the knee drop, but, since I change sides while doing so, I dont know if I have to change the charging direction in the middle of the move.
Iām sorry, but there is no such mention of that AT ALL in this thread, where did you get this info? What was mentioned after RH knee was dash twice, F+MK, not TACKLE.
It exists, though (dash, partition tackle to break guard. Although, the partition tackle hits THE SAME TIME as the first hit of the aegis, which means it can be blocked).
Ive got a question, How exactly does the unblockable work? I saw those wanted vids (very nice btw) and I was wondering what strentgh knee drop the guy was doing. I just picked up urien and well this guy suits my play style which is why I really want to get good with him. Any other tips/tricks would be badass too :karate:
For the corner unblockable, both Mk and HK kneedrops cross up so they both get you the unblockable; however MK kneedrop is faster so itās the only choice in some setups or against characters which get up faster.
From experience, Iāve learned that HK works mostly in general, no matter what speed they get up. On Dudley (the fastest person who gets up without quickstand in the game, FYI), I still use HK. Still works.
I think itās a matter of range. :karate:
