Real Urien Unblockables/combos

Well first of all, with that setup you can do mp headbutt rather than hp headbutt on Oro and the Twins. It’s easy to do and gives you a bit more time. If you’re not getting it to work, dash earlier.

I haven’t discovered a great solution to this problem yet. Right now I guard break with c.lk or s.mp. You might have realized that if Oro low parries on wakeup the s.mp will whiff, but that doesn’t matter because the parry sequences are different for the 2 guard breaks. There are many ways Oro can parry out of each unblockable, but I have only discovered one sequence that works for both guard breaks. In essence, this is a gimmick not a mixup. But until you’re opponent figures out what that sequence is, you can continue to make him guess on how to parry.

Lastly, Rx sometimes does dash back, c.mk, HK knee, dash, (lp?) headbutt, uoh, dash,c.hp on the twins and it should work on Oro too. You could try learning that. I personally have trouble with this setup. Sometimes uoh crosses over the opponent rather than hitting him. That really sucks. :frowning:
Also, I think this setup leaves you vulnerable to wakeup moves.

good enough for me

ill practice that other one then

Who can I c.fp, tackle, sphere, tackle on in the corner. doesn’t seem to work on remy but it does on 12. anyone have a full list?

Hmm

I know Chun for sure. Also I think Necro and Q. You can also do it against Dudley, but you really have to time the tackle early enough to get him up high enough to hit the sphere.

Can’t remember if it works on anyone else… Hopefully, if there’s others, someone can clarify it.

It works on Alex, Chun Li, Dudley, Elena, Makoto, Necro, Q, 12. On some of them it’s very easy, and it’s tricky on others.

Against Chun Li Necro and Q you have even a better option: cHP, LK tackle, MP sphere, HK tackle, MK tackle
It’s a bit hard to do on Chun Li but it’s somewhat easy against Necro and Q

Question

Hey guys. This has probably been answered before, but I was wondering about a particular unblockable.

I was watching a Urien vs. Makoto match, and Urien did c. FP, LK tackle, Aegis, dash back, whiff c. FP, RH kneedrop, and then I think it was a HP headbutt over Makoto, setting up the unblockable.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this unblockable done on Yun before, but I was wondering who else this unblockable can be done on?

It should be Mp. Headbutt.

Done on Yun, Yang, Oro and Ibuki I think.

its more of a gimmick than an unblockable though, very easy to parry out of.

if you have 150% meter, just do the ex headbutt unblockable (c.HP, ex headbutt, lp fireball xx mp aegis, hit them with standing MP into kneedrop, do a normal or two, crossup, initiate). you can actually mixup with this unblockable and the four characters you’ll use it on take extra damage so its worth it imo. vs oro it takes off like 50% clean and you’ll have meter left over, vs the other characters it does more.

Yeah. The timing of their wakeup and you pushing them towards Aegis seems too tight whenever I do it.

Might be just me though. =[

nah you just cant mix it up on them and getting a c.HP.

UB’s

Allright, after watching some Urien vids, I’m trying to practice some other types of mid-screens. Not necessarily the dash headbutt mid-screen. For example: c. FP, jab headbutt. Then after that, sometimes people do RH kneedrop or just mp headbutt. What I have trouble with is breaking people’s guard with different commands. Like, after the headbutt or kneedrop, what are some good combos to do? One combo in particular that I saw Emphy do once after setting up the mid-screen and doing the kneedrop is c. lk, c. mk, c. jab x 2, c. FP, dash back, FP sphere, LP sphere, RH tackle.

When I try to do these combos in training mode, the whole thing isn’t going through. What I mean is that I’ll get maybe 1 or 2 hits, and the graphic will come up on the screen saying 5 or 6 hit combo before I even finish the whole thing. Is there a particular time where I should start the combo? Is there a timing to the hits? Am I simply inputting the commands for the combo to quickly?

What are some other good mid-screen UB’s other than the customary dash headbutt or dash tackle mid-screens?

just do f+MK or c.LK dash in, c.HP, and theres a timing for now. those are the easiest guard break methods.

the other two unblockables that you should learn are the ghetto midscreen (the ibuki/oro/yang/yun) one, and the ex headbutt one. exheadbutt is easy, just do c.HP, exheadbutt, lp fireball xx mp aegis, (standing MP), kneedrop. at this point they are knocked down and cant go anywhere, depending on the character you can do some normals to build meter, then crossup with mp headbutt and guard break like you would a traditional headbutt. theres no charge partitioning required, i only recommend using this vs characters with low stamina since it’s a meter hog.

theres a q specific one thats SUPER easy and i recommend you learn it. do: c.HP, mk tackle, mp aegis (1 hit), hk tackle (crosses under), dash into q, guard break.

those are your best bets for unblockables, the only other ones that you will learn will be fairly situational (like the sweep to HP aegis juggle reset)

I rarely use those combos like you said

I like to use c.short,UOH,and F+MK to break the guard on midscreen. For corners I use the infamous F.+Fierce that every crouching opponent in the corner falls for.

Well what I can say is there’s definitely a rhythm,if you will,to this. The thing is to create the right amount of space from you and the Aegis. If your too close to the Aegis and attempt combos like above, your opponent will just go into the Aegis. Too far away and your opponent wont hit the Aegis and wont come back. You need the right amount of space as so your opponent will spring back off the aegis and you can play Pong with your opponent,LOL!

What I mean by rhythm is that you have to understand that moves like c.MK and st.MP have more frames that Jab nad Short(obviously). Like you can fit in say 2 jabs for a st.MP. So mix it up. I keep the jabs to the end if I can. I like:

cr.MK>st.MPx2>cr.MK>cr.Jabx2…

1.cr.Fierce>EX Headbutt>lp.Sphere xx Fierce Aegis>st.MPxx MK Tackle

2.On Yun/Yang:

cr.Fierce xx lp.sphere xx Fierce aegis(timing is much different for cancelling sphere to aegis), cr.HK>lk.Tackle> jumping jab and knock Yun/Ynag back in> while they are falling back in dash to other side and continue

3.On Yun/Yang:

8 seconds in is a very nice unblockable for the twins.

Do the combos used on Yan/Yung also apply to Ibuki and Necro?

this is NOT a good unblockable because of its ease to parry out of, hell thats why he did the throw! but yeah thats your only solution with one bar midscreen vs twins. it also does NOT work if you are backed far into the corner.

Ye, its the only one worth using on midscreen twins. :frowning:

ex headbutt unblock can be useful but its incredibly situational (if it will kill them basically).

best bet is to just lk tackle into corner (if you are the one closer to corner) or mk tackle midscreen, aegis cancel once they are cornered.

they work on ibuki but dont bother using yun/yang “specific” ones on necro because they’re either a waste of meter, bad or necro has a better one.

Also works on Urien and Gill

ok thanks

I’ve been experimenting with the midscreen unblockable and I after I do my headbutt over a shoto and dash twice, my f+MK doesn’t seem to align with the Aegis and what ends up happening is that my opponent isn’t successfully guard broken. Any tips?
