Ugh SF4 netcode, I hope not because I sure do love me some inconsistant input delay =/, its well below the standard I personally wanted.
I guess GGPO was too high of an expectation, when will SNK wake up and smell the coffee.
SF4 netcode is terrible even on NAT1 and playing someone from your city. There’s input lag no matter what. Better than nothing maybe, but far from the best.
Street4’s netcode is indeed the best ever created for a fighting game. By far. I don’t really like the game but the netcode is close to perfection.
And yes, i have BlazBlue ( a lot of options, but lagless only with people of your own contry or close ). And i have HDR. And Virtua Fighter 5. And SoulCa4. And Battle Fantasia.
GGPO has been out there for so long now and set the standard for fighting game netplay, theres no excuse for any current fighting game not to offer a netplay experience as good or better than what GGPO offers.
Its about wanting better features for what is a really good game, we’re just fans wanting better for this game, plus no one talked about characters in this particular thread, so I don’t know where your going with that one.
When will people learn that demanding for better features doesn’t mean demanding for perfection or for the impossible (GGPO isn’t perfection, but the best out there so far), nor does it mean acting bratty or childish, what it is about is not being complacent, and wanting improvements to a game and genre we all love to play (if no one liked it no one would even care to complain about it, and nothing would get changed), I don’t see any outlandish demands in this thread, and niether do you.
For those who are bothered bring your demands over to the Ignition forums, better to talk there than here as you might get heard…might.
It’s the minimal standard that you don’t slam a game over. We’ll have to see when it actually comes out in a few weeks.
People may complain about SF4’s netcode, but there’s little outright bitching like there is over SF4’s.
The key will be convincing SNK to use GGPO in future releases more then current- gotta be realistic here. That’s ignition’s job. Besides, how much does Ponder charge for GGPO? He may be charging a lot more then doing it in-house is (though I doubt that)
In KOF12 ? Yeah surely, just like i always have " foreigners " in my “FRANCE” rooms… even Brazilians, in the other side of the world for european players.
I don’t get what you’re trying to say.
And for the others, i’m sorry for playing the games instead of forcing people to share MY opinion. And then mocking them if they’re not.
That is the difference between Capcom fans and snk fans. Capcom fans will let some sub-standard shit slide because they’re used to getting shitted on and calling it ice cream (they just can’t wait to get a game that is SO much like the 5 before it that anybody who expects an actual NEW game will get bored in a month), whereas an snk fan may love the game, but still recognizes problems when they arise.
I’ve had some great SF4 matches (connection quality wise, I’m sure I failed at actually fighting) so I’m excited to hear about this patch. Honestly, why isn’t everyone excited that the game will become more playable than it is? If it’s not up to your high-and-mighty standards then sucks, go talk to Ignition/SNKP about it, not us.
You shouldn’t shit on people for having high standards, but you need to accept that sometimes, the optimal solution for us isn’t the optimal solution for the company.
And lol at Rhio’s comment about Capcom and SNK fans when the fact SNK fans are known for trying to make sunshine out of shit. Just look at some of the games Dark Geese tries to run at tournies. (not a knock on Dark Geese, but a lot of SNK games are fail)
Part of the reason foreigners enter the France rooms, is that no one has any games open. No one’s playing online for two obvious reasons: the game didn’t sell all that well so far and the netcode sucks.
Ive been playing SF4 since Feb on Xbox 360. If you are playing on PS3, then your opinion doesnt matter here. PS3 online is shitty to begin with. The netcode is very solid. When I play all my friends here from SRK I have nothing but smooth matches. Ive played people from California 3000 miles away and I still get good connections. Like I said, 3+ bars and I am good. The netcode isnt perfect but its very playable, 3+ bars and Im good to go. There are always things on your or his end that can be done for a better connection. Also there are dumb people are there, playing online while downloading porn at the sametime thinking it doesnt affect the game for example.
Now would I take GGPO over SF4’s netcode? Yes I would but to bitch about SF4 levels of netcode compared to the shit we have now then you are just being a asshole.
SF4 PC’s netcode is pretty meh, but at least it’s playable with 3+ bars (and people who actually have good computers or are smart enough to put framerate on fixed when they don’t), but the match finder for it is fucking garbage. However, KoF12 is completely unplayable, regardless of port forwarding, NAT1, etc etc. Before the first patch it was worse than kaillera even.
At any rate I’ll take any improvement I can get, seeing as every game lags horribly or just doesn’t connect.
this has to be the dumbest thing you have ever posted, or maybe I just haven’t payed attention to you enough to know better lol.
Just sit back and read this shit you posted and really think about it, you are smarter than that right? You might be a fur suit wearing scumbag that plays with my little ponies but you are not stupid.
Kouga, I just had nearly full-speed matches againsta couple players (Cebollo25 and Legacy929). I have them every play session, but I have to take the time to find yellow connections. I have a 1.5mb dl speed and an upload speed in the triple-digit kb range. I have my ports forwarded, and am not using my pc for downloading at the time, nor do I have any family members using their pc. What’s going on on your end? If you are on now, would it be okay if I try to get you into a match? I’ve posted on srk while playing and it hasn’t affected the speed any, so just talking here shouldn’t affect anything.
Even though 98 and 2k2 are SIMILAR, but there are changes in specials and supers for a lot of the cast, not just engine additions. Capcom just likes to keep their characters exactly the same and feed them to you nearly unchanged every game. No 2 kof games are as similar to each other as most sf games. Anybody who’s spent at least equal time with both companies’ offerings can see this. I only had opportunities to play Capcom games ANYwhere until 98 came out for dc, then I started emulating and discovered how much SNK’s sequels are about actual CHANGE rather than additions. With the exception of each title in the Alpha series (not counting Gold), and to a smaller extent 2nd impact and 3rd Strike. Capcom sequels, while many are fun, feel like only upgrades (well…not the vs franchises) rather than true sequels in which characters evolve and players must change their playstyle accordingly. Instead, damn near every character can be played damn near the exact same way, save for a different normal move here and there. Nintendo bitched about this back in the day, prompting Capcom to stop with their upgrade madness on snes. Nintendo got tired of them releasing an only slightly different game and charging full price. That’s why ssft never came out on snes, even though it had been started on.
And chill with the furry shit. Not fat, not white, not gay. I just like anthro cartoons/movies (more interesting than boring people doing the same things, and with no subtle brainwashing on white superiority in group dynamics. As a black guy, I’m tired of seeing the standard white leader/main character, ethnic sidekicks/secondary teammates. So easy to avoid simply by not using people as characters.), which are made for EVERYBODY, with no consideration in mind for for teh queerverts…who latch onto them as if Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks gives half a crap about their deluded asses.
