All I am saying, is it so much to ask to get marvel on there? Those tables are genius, because when all is said and done you will have a good idea of who is down for what game. If marvel only get 3 peeps, then take it off–the same with any other game. Those are just my thoughts, I will be down there no matter what to support our scene.

Evo is a 3 day event. Portland is 3 hours away and the tourney is only one day. Much more accessible than evo. That is just me though, I cannot speak for others.

A few things to list ( No hate involved in this post)
- To be honest all the people who play GG in portland are Mark, Ross, and little alex. The marvel tourny would have more people entering than GG would. I’m 100% positive on that.
- I’m sure if you advertised marvel in this tourny. All around you would be getting more people to attend.
- The Nw is mainly known for marvel. Just so you know
- People defending GG: Ac are contradicting themselves.
- It seems like enough noise has been made.
- Richs nikka pennybags will bring the hype.

Theres a bit of noise happening, but calm down guys, school just started and we’re a bit busy.
A - It states that we’re deciding on if marvel will be worth it depending on earlier reactions from the scene. It will be hard to commit to running it if we are unsure whether or not you guys will come down.
B - The tournament is still months away, plenty of time to change things around, the sites been up less than a week. We’re still working on planning everything out, we don’t even have a schedule.
C - Guess what, the seperate opinions of individuals do not equal everything that is going into the planning of this tourney. Bias will happen and guess what, we’re doing things as a group to try to stray away from that. Unfortunately, due to present circumstances, more input on other individuals (I.E. me or anyone else besides sam for that matter) have been rather terse. But hey, SamY has gone so far as to GET A WEBSITE UP, AGREE TO MAKE CHANGES AND GET INPUT ON SOME OF THE STUFF - MORE THAN SOME OF YOU WHINING BITCHES. ahem
D - Jetay, please quiet yourself. You can bring up a point without trying to cause a flame war. Don’t go starting shit online like this. I know you’re nicer in person, but try not to start shit at the tourney. Bring hype, not hate.
And this goes for everyone, and I know this scene is cool enough so it wont be a problem - but we can all get through this and behave at the event. This is a public event held at our school, I know we get away with a ton of shit at the weeklies, but this is on a larger scale, and if any shit goes down we might not be able to have the Smith Ballroom as an easy venue anymore. Of course, more power to seattle if they can find some place as large and as cheap.

Oh yeah - because not everything is finalized (esp marvel) , and since we want everyones opinions on everything. Do we still want to have something like this 2 days? We can still do something like - if we dont get all the pre-registers up to a certain tier by a certain date and then just cancel the 2nd day. We’d need to modify the schedules but thats not hard.
I was worried about NW Regionals being too ambitious for this Dec test. Now it seems everyones complaining about it not being large enough - but again - WE NEED THE NUMBERS. I know that will change when Sam at least gets around to adding Marvel on the pre-reg. We can work around it, guys.

To you, personally - what mackenzie didn’t emphasize, and what everyone else is not emphasizing is… this “no marvel no mandel” is, “if you guys (mandel, others) dont show, no marvel”. Thats it.
Anyway, I need to vent, too. I want to call people on the internet whining, because really. Nothing is set in stone and everyones already up in arms. Get a list of people who can commit to going, talk to people, goto zach’s, talk to the scene. Right now, the marvel scene isnt so great, and we’d get the same 4-7 players, but thats it. Why make a fuss over that unless we know Seattle marvel is coming down. Thats where this whole misunderstanding started. We post “hey, we can have something at PSU” and everyone complained about having to drive 3 hours.

Oh yeah, and why I’m pushing GG - cause I’ve been putting the word out for awhile now. Advertising, talking, contacting the other groups who play. Did you know theres a following in Salem? at OIT? Tacoma? Its not just the 4 (1 MIA in Japan) PDX players + Redmond. I’ve been taking the time to talk to them and get them to show up, some people are driving up / down in a few weeks just to casual. Even if its not record breaking numbers, I know theres a grip of players who wish this to happen, and due to the amount that I am putting into this tournament and the feedback of the players, it’s justified. And guess what, I want Marvel there too. Hell, I also suggested SSBB by then, too, but look how much hate that spawned…

Jetay - Seriously. End your hate or else. I’m apologetic because hey - the internet is serious business but I’m a nice guy in person. But… Seriously. Even though we’ve been pushing the joking about the No Thugs evo rule. Seriously. This is a campus event, as a PSU club, the reason this event can go on is BECAUSE some of us are PSU students. I stated that in the beginning posts of using PSU as a venue because WE CAN GET THE ROOMS FOR FREE IF ITS A CLUB EVENT. We need to be in charge, and we can assign a group of OUTSIDERS TO HELP WITH THE DESIGN PROCESS. I talked to Zach, and tried to get Zass or others who actually sounded like they wanted to be productive, with no luck. Thats just how it is.
Please note, that this is a club event. PSU has policies against violence and threatening of violence which can get us in trouble along with you.
