Rage quit hell exist in ultimate?

too easy

lol

There are no “cheap” or “fraud” tactics, only techniques people haven’t studied upon. Even derp based characters like Wesker can be overcome with enough research and insight. And proper snap backs and legit X-Factors.

Ok i’m not trying to poke directly at you Solder, many people here have the same mentality you do with this. But the bold makes me lol. Hard. I’m all against rage quitting, but really are you trying to tell someone to man up…over a video game? Online no less? IT sounds just as bad as the scrubs who message “STOP SPAMMING! MAN UP AND COME AT ME BRO!”

This is where I start disagreeing with folks who are anti-rq. No one is obligated to finish matches online. Its a damn game. There is no tournament, there is no money changing hands. Its an online record that means nothing which ranks you against the world which means nothing. Because its a game. People need to realize the environment changes the moment someone gets eliminated from a tournament, goes home, and starts playing online. They have no obligation to finish any online matches if they so choose (like the scrubs they are).

This only proves that people get mad over plug pullers. “Man up! Finish your online match!” How about “get over it, its a game” Stop expecting tournament level respect and atmosphere sitting on your couch playing by yourself against random people you can’t even see online.

TL;DR: Its a video game first, a competitive game second.

Agreed 100%, so I bounce out and go study them rather than beat my head against the wall fruitlessly fighting against them

I don’t even play online at all against people I don’t know. Fruitless endeavor in some cases. There are hella things you can learn from unknown people in ranked however. I’m assuming that you don’t care so much about online than to learn more strats and tactics in a slipshod manner. I can dig it. If you didn’t care, your ranked rating shouldn’t matter, though.

OK, but if you’re going to condone ragequitting, stick to player matches and stay out of ranked.

It just wastes time for those who are actually trying to use the system to level up (as meaningless as it is, for those that play primarily online, it’s the option.) You rarely see people RQ in player matches / lobbies, it’s almost exclusive to ranked matches. It’s just wasting your time and theirs to RQ.

I didn’t condone rage quitting. I said despite what we here at SRK may want, no one is obligated to finish a match. We should never expect any online player to do so unless we know them well enough or it can be assumed they are part of this community.

I also agree, i tend to stick with player matches myself.

Got RQ’d 3 times today.

Landed Objection!, disconnect.

Landed PW’s LV3, disconnect.

It was gonna be a perfect too. :[

Anyone know if the badges are legit? I thought this guy was legit with a bright yellow star, I got a perfect & he left tord’s the end when I was in LV3 Cinematic.

Maybe that’s why, but still.

I do stick to player matches, and a lot of people have been msging me in game after I do it and I am starting to feel bad so I’m no longer gonna be doing it, or at least with much less frequency. It is defintiely inconsiderate

Even if it’s inconsiderate you shouldn’t feel bad if it’s your MO to do it. Just be aware of the repercussions if you’re strictly an online player. You’ll eventually get fewer and fewer authentic matches against other decent online players.

For the record I can totally understand quitting prematurely if netcode suddenly goes down the crapper but only then. You only get better by taking your lumps and learning from losses but when the connection turns a fight into protracted lag-fest nobody learns anything at the end of it. I can’t fault people for not wanting to waste their time and put up with that.

don’t take all your disconnects as Rage quits. This game has DC’d me and opponents during situations where you would think they were RQ’s a bunch of times already.

You know I’ve noticed this happening to me recently, although one day was due to XBL firmware update. But the other days it just cuts out at random times. I would be mid combo and the game pulls but I barely took 10% hp from the first character.

That’s exactly my point.
If went for a cage fight and found out my opponent was a toddler, I would gain nothing from fighting them except a potential chance to disgrace myself.
Likewise I avoid conflict with certain online personas.

The scrubs are too concerned with their petty ranked record instead of actually playing to try to improve and level up their game…I get rage quits all the time. I’m sorry my Wesker OCV’d your entire team? I’m sorry I punished your mindless spam with Nova’s Gravametric blaster. Stay free scrubs…Funny thing is I got a quitter who sent me a message once saying that I was a punk for using Wesker even though Nova did most of the work lol

i was RQ’d on for apparently “playing with too much gimmicks” all i did was cover my vergils teleports with an assist the entire match. :c

I have been told by the mods to not call people scrubby scrubs, so I will just ask you to politely drop your train of thought

Me Too.

If your goal in the game is to win, you essentially need experience against all forms of lame so you don’t lose to them. When would you rather lose? Online to someone doing shit you haven’t practiced vs much, or losing to that same strategy when you go to play in a tournament?

On a side note (to the convo above), there are three main types of moderation strategies for forums:

1.) Very little moderation. Smart users pick up the slack by harassing the dumb users until they leave (note: cuts down on dumb posters, as they either learn what’s acceptable or leave in short order, more inflammatory posts as a result).

2.) Extremely high moderation, but of the anti-dumb rather than anti-asshole moderation. Best example of this would be the elitistjerks.com forums for WoW. Being an asshole and calling someone out for being stupid won’t get you banned there. Being stupid will get you banned there.

3.) Extremely high moderation, but anti-asshole instead of anti-dumb. Mods don’t take action to remove dumb people from the posting pool, but warn and attack the smart posters who try to get rid of dumb posters via method 1. Promotes lots of dumb posts, and causes your smart posters to post less.

Historically, Shoryuken seemed to be more in category 1.) than anything else. People saying dumb shit essentially got blown up in relatively short order by other posters calling them out on being dumb and stupid. Lately, SRK seems to be more in category 3.), where you can’t really call out dumb posters the way you used to, because for whatever reason its a priority to protect the feelings of people who have IQs under 80.

Personally, I feel that if someone says something dumb/scrubby, they should have to deal with multiple people quoting them and calling their post exactly what it was. Why? Because it’s exactly what would happen if they said that in any other context in the FGC. If you show up at a local tournament or god forbid evo, and start spouting off how you think projectile spamming is lame, or that you legitimately think tron is top tier, you’re going to be mocked and laughed at in a manner way worse than what random SRK posters will do.

Hand-holding people on SRK and trying to censor them from people’s actual reactions only serves to set them up for a much bigger fall somewhere down the line if they stay in the FGC. Simple as that.

There is also an option when you file a complaint on XBL that says something along the line of “Left match early” something along the lines of that.

So while I do agree its not that serious, it is also looked down upon by XBL itself.
