Racing/driving games thread v1.0 Type-R

I thought it was absolutely atrocious. Graphics were pretty poor and I didn’t see the option for manual (like Hot Pursuit '10) and you don’t need to slow down to take any turn what so ever. And if all the hazards are pre-determined, and dont change each time, then there’s no replay after the first time, IMO.

Yo that is a very good point. I Am hoping the graphics are better. i found myself liking the Porche better than the Lambo, and I agree with a manual option, which would make it better. I still have high hopes for it. I just hope that they make the finished product way better than the demo, and have more than 13 races across the country. Also it would be dope if they had an option of different routes across the country.

Daytona’s out.

Gentlemen, start your engines.

^I liked the Trial. Looks very nice and the new gameplay modes sound like fun. But I’ll wait for a sale.

Daytona USA setup.

Technically though, the game is a port of Sega Racing Classic with the Daytona branding that the updated HD arcade game didn’t have.

I might be in love with Forza 4. The rivals set up is really nice and easy to use and progress in World Tour is always so rewarding. I never feel like I’m grinding in this game.

I want Daytona 2, with a H-pattern stickshift wheel.

One of the huge differences VS Gran Turismo 5. I sold that shit after like 5 days of release. I made someone a happy man, unless he found it incredibly boring as well.

1100 HP, 10,000 RPM Turbo Enzo engined, GT0. Beautiful. Undriveable. LOL.

She’s a real beaut! (said like the Crocodile Hunter)

Also because you are rewarded a new car at every level I’m driving vehicles that I’d never choose on my own. Infact, I only spend money on performance parts. Having an eclectic selection of cars is so cool.

Best way to do it, if you want to conserve money, is choose a reward car of a brand you like, and find races that it can compete in as they give it you, or buy cheap cars from manufacturers you like, either way there are enough races that you should be able to get affinity for whatever company you want, and obviously lv 4 affinity means free mods. At that point you only need to buy cars.

i.e. Spend 6000 on a Mazda Protoge run the Mazda 4 cylinder races, or class D champs, get LV4 affinity (while earning more Cr) then you can mod it or any Mazda you buy for free.

Speaking of Mazda I miss this car from FM3
:

Thats in FM4. im putting its engine in my FD

Boner.

AN interesting interview with the creator of Gran Turismo.

^I’ll have to read that later but first!

That dude admitted that Polyphony Digital is hard at work on GT6. Although I do not own a PS3 or PS4 when it comes around this excites me because the competition between GT and FM only makes them work harder to deliver the best racing games possible. I eagerly await to see what GT6 has in store for it’s Sony fans.

That question on drivers he keeps in touch with just reminded me that the top drivers in the top echelons of motorsport (F1 and WRC) are both named Seb.

A free game from students at Digi Pen that is like Tron and San Fransisco Rush 2049 making a baby. http://nitronic-rush.com/

I’m already bored with Four-za after completing World Tour, sadly.

Moved on to NFS: The Run, which is surprisingly better as a racing game than HP2010 was (no, seriously, it’s no longer Burnout with Zondas and they’ve even put in a manual transmission) - just with typical EA meddling and Blackbox “hurr cinematics make the game” stupidity weighing it down. And I’ve moved back to TrackMania 2, which more people need to be playing anyway because it’s just that damn good.

Who’d be interested in doing a Blur tournament on XBL? It’s like 10 bucks now and it shipped way more than it sold so no excuses.

Least HP2010 has more then 2 hours of racing in it.

Too bad NFS:The Run isn’t going to be good.

It had a Gumball Rally feel about it that I hoped to see in a video game one day.
