6A -> 5B is what’s used for ground to air combos, really no reason to rapid cancel from 6A… (if I misunderstood you, sry; brain is fried from lack of sleep)

well like if you hit 6A when they are high up sometimes they are too high for 5B to connect before they can tech (at least from what I’ve seen so far) though it doesn’t happen very often
If they’re that high and you know your 6a is going to hit, just go directly into super. But more often than not, you will get a 6a counter hit which can be followed up with another 6a > 5b when they’re closer to the ground.

I started playing around with some pumpkin shenanigans, and I think we could be on to something big. Lets give a name to this technique. Heres el clip I made of me throwing out pumpkins in several different formations:

If you noticed, in some of the “formations” I made the pumpkin move UP, while Rachel stayed on the ground. Seems that you can silpheed in the middle of attacks, which cancels her jumping animations, but the pumpkin still moves. I did it by inputting A~9D > 3D. Its like making her pumpkins tri-jump.
And in the final part of the clip you see that cancelling air pumpkin into air frog is a lot faster than figiting around on the ground begging to get comboed.
Im salivating at the mouth. Because I suck, so I know some of you guys can think of some crazy ass ways to use this. Build on top of this, im tired and probably wont play some more til tomorrow.
If only the “L-shaped formation” hit low, that would probably be too much for people to handle tho.:bgrin:

putting out the pumpkin is probably the highest priority for me. I was tempted to use the frog the most but after watching vids I try to keep the pumpkin out as much as possible.
Protip: pumpkins are used to make her moves safer and poke so you can get in with a combo. Don’t use 2-3 stocks just to hit them with a pumpkin
Also, you can wind during her astral.
It’s gonna be long road to get nice with Rachel. Getting rocked online atm.
Sticking it out though. Hopefully it pays off in me stomping everyone when I get her down.

I thought about practicing some combos with her, but I think that getting the fundamentals of just getting her pumpkin, frog, and stuff out at any opportunity would help me a lot more. I think my main problem is that I’m using her far too defensively.
really? i went 15 and 1 with rachel the past 2 days in ranked. You just gotta know what combo to mash out (B, D+C,C)
lol the locals were mad at my usage of that combo last night
IM pretty sure 6a wind cancel up int 6c works… could be wrong though.
well it looks dumb, like you knock them on their bottom then they are standing up again after you go run up and hit them
It works (6a 6c9d) for that situation I guess, but in general, the other stuff gives you better dmg/positioning.

If they keep jumping back, litter the field with bad rods. Toss a pumpkin and a frog and close in!!
What are your thoughts on D > 3C / D > 6C mixup? It covers distance pretty fast for her.
Im also playing around with 9D > 2C
airborne 2C (the crystal drill) seems like it only hits underneath Rachel, but Ive actually hit people with the side of it out the air, so its protected on all sides too (minus the top im assuming).

as far as the one you should be doing like every time I still don’t know.
2C is cool, you can use it as an over head. like you can do 2C+D, standing B, cancel into jump then do 2C again into a combo… and it all combos on crouching characters. Also if you do 2C from really high up it makes them bounce and you can combo them that way. or from a medium level do 2C+D and you’ll get the same effect.
