Alzarath knows what’s good.

Rachel=Alucard

Height: 145 cm
Weight: 31 kg
Bloodtype: Unknown
Gender: Female
Origin: Transylvania
Hobby: Tea

A blood-sucking vampire who is the head of the Alucard family and who dresses in a gothic lolita style. As the head of the family an enormous castle and a servant have been handed down to her from previous generations. She carries a cat-shaped umbrella called Nago and fights using a chubby, red bat familiar called Gii. She slipped out of her castle in search of fun because she hates to be bored. Her Drive Ability is Silpheed, which allows her to manipulate wind.

Command List:

Drive:

Silpheed (can be used in air) - Creates wind that can be controlled in all 8 directions.
Hold Any Direction+D

  • Wind has the ability to move your projectiles, Rachel and your opponent according to the direction used. Learning how and when to use Wind for Rachel is one of the most important things in order to play her properly.

Special Attacks:
Tiny Lobelia (can be used in air) - :d::df::r:+A,B, or C

  • A projectile that varies in distance/height depending on button pressed. Lands on the field after for use with Sword Iris and extra damage for Baden Baden Lily. Only 3 can be on the field at one time. If you fire another Lobelia, the first one will be replaced.

    George XIII (can be used in air) - :d::db::l:+A

  • The lightning frog. Walks around the field and detonates when in range of opponent. On block, holds the opponent in place for mixups and easy setup for combos when hits. Can be killed and disappears if Rachel is hit. Only one on the field at a time.

    Impish Gypsophila (can be used in air) - :d::db::l:+B

  • The pumpkin. Stays on the field and moves with each Silpheed action. Can be used by the drive up to 3 times. Only one on the field at a time. Disappears if Rachel is hit.

    Sword Iris - :d::d:+A

  • Detonate each Lobelia on the field.

Distortion Drive (Uses 50% of Heat Gauge):
Baden-Baden Lily - :r::df::d::db::l::r:+C

  • Big time super. Multi-hitting Lightning will go off behind Rachel and at every Lobelia location.

Astral Heat (Uses 100% of Heat Gauge + Final Round + Opp less than 20% life):
Clownish Calendula - :d::d::d:+B

  • A red beam comes up behind Rachel as she tucks in her umbrella and faces profile. The red beam (if hits) raises opponent up for deadly lightning as a cross the rises behind Rachel that kills them in an explosion of rose petals. Incredibly long start-up. Rachel is completely invincible after red super flash and the move is unblockable. She can be hit and grabbed out of the move before the super flash. Can be comboed into.

corner

throw, wallbounce, 6c,j.c,land super, frog, 3c, pumpkin, 3c

Some Rachel pointers:

  • If you’re going to summon frog, fire lobelia or do anything laggy, you should normally try to have pumpkin out for protection.
  • Try to conserve wind. Extend ground combos for as long as possible, as Rachel only can restore wind gauge on the ground. Even though the damage may not be worth it, extra hits can load up the wind you need.
  • Get accurate with how you use wind. Get the directions right. Make sure you become aware how wind affect you and your opponent.

hello my fellow rachel users. Looking forward to discussing the loli vampire!

Easy choice for which character I’m going to play :smiley:

I didn’t really know that much about the game, I decided to play Rachel since she is a vampire and vampires are cool. I didn’t even know what she looked like… turns out she’s a little girl

GOD DAMN THIS CURSE!!!

This is not a curse!

Yeah… Wait until you play Arakune…

Bit of advice for people picking up Rachel, always throw out a pumpkin before a frog unless your in the middle of a specific combo. This especially applies when your in the air as you can’t do anything after you frog summon off the ground.

So is the recovery that bad on the frog you need to always have a pumpkin out?
Sounds like it is. No matter though I will be maining Rachel, picking up an alt much later.

In practice mode, what should i have enabled as far as aerial rol, emergency roll, wake-up, etc?

Air techs don’t matter that much (set it to back or forward), but for ground techs, set it to neutral. Most people will neutral tech roll against Rachel due to the risk of rolling forward or backward.

The recovery time on all of her moves suck. If you wiff a seed you WILL eat a combo. If the oponent is mid-range or closer they can run in and combo you if you try summoning a frog, this doesn’t always happen with a pumpkin though as you can wind as soon as it’s out and it turns into a projectile, but don’t try this if they’re just out of poking distance because again the recovery time, you wouldn’t be able to wind out the pumpkin fast enough.

To put it simply if you have a pumpkin out all of her moves become WAY more safe.

I’m definatly nowhere near being a good player, but I usually just save the summons for Oki’s

Cool, good to know Ghaleon.
I was planning on saving the summons for when they wake up like you said.
Now I’ll be doing that for sure. God damn I can’t to get my hands on this…

Best title for thread ever lol

there a wiki for this game?

or other good resource

First few weeks are going to be rough for me man ;_;

Takes a special kind of man to use a loli to her fullest.

Arcana Heart must have had a lot of special kinds of men playing it then.

Rachel is probably the first character I’ll pick up, just because I love how she looks, along with her cohort familiars. Definitely using the orange/black color scheme along with the 500 other people picking her. Honestly though, I think Rachel should have had a hardcore Romanian accent for the English dub.

Atleast you already have the mindset that it’s going to take time to learn her… That’s good.

When I first played her in the arcade I spent the whole day loosing. Out of damn near 25 matches I won 2 non-consecutive rounds. So that’s what, 2 wins out of 50? Didn’t even win a whole match the first day.

So I head back there about a week later (it’s over an hour and a half drive for me to FFA) and play for a bit. Still loosing, but definatly getting the hang of things, combos are forming, learning what, and what not to do with her ect…

THEN, I accidentally pick Jin (they’re right next to eachother…) don’t even know his moveset, just keep mashing C, 236A/B/C, and 214A/B/C and I won the whole match :rolleyes:

Just don’t get discouraged. After playing her for a couple days you’ll definatly get the gist of her, then it all has to do with putting some more advanced combos into the ones you already learned.

The first time you lock someone down in the corner for 20+ seconds with frogs and pumpkin Oki’s you’ll realize how worth it loosing was in the beginning :tup:

I use Halloween Rachel as well, it’s a really cool color scheme but it’s sometimes hard to tell what batpoles/pumpkins/frogs are yours when your in a mirror match and all that shit is out on the screen
