am I canceling the B into a jumping B jumping C in other words it will be more like the jumping B animation coming out as she goes UP rather than come down?

I’ll keep that combo in mind. Offensively I do alright, overhead drills and low normals keep it close for me most times. Getting rushed down is my problem.

Thanks, finally got it. Now im getting somewhere.

For anyone else who might be having trouble with the air combos you literally have to tap jump again to reset the string in the air, I kept holding “up” out of habit, probably something I got from Marvel.

Also once you get them in the air, the moves also seem to keep them pulled in, rather than them floating away from you midair, another reason I thought I should HOLD uf, but I was wrong.

Blazblue’s system is very forgiving.

well the standard combo includes throwing the lobellia after D+C but i just do lowpokes into B, D+C, into dash B, into super jump B, C, double jump B, C, qcf+A (or throw something else like the frog)

I need to see that in motion. Im almost NEVER in range to 6A > B > j.B …

Use the 6A as an anti-air and it almost always CH’s

do 6A > 6A > 5B > sjc >j.B > j.A > j.B > j.C > j.236A for the CH, if it didn’t CH and they’re on the ground just take out the first 6A…

Also, if your getting rushed down hardcore just don’t give up, try to get out and get yourself situated again. Rachel’s damage output is serioiusly insane, I dunno how many times I’ve comeback to win the round after being taken down below 20%

And :lol: @ her Baiden-Lilly… I landed a CH 6A > Baiden-Lilly in the corner with 3 batpoles near by. Seriously did a fuck-ton of damage :rofl:

if you’re getting rushed down just 1C. It is not safe on block obviously but it can save your ass and if you hit them out of the air you can put out a frog and just turtle a bit til the frog connects or plan your escape. Just don’t abuse the chair or you’ll get owned. Then if you can block the incoming strings then you can wait for the frog to connect, and if they block you can still throw them. Even if they break it it still pushes them away, and if you actually do throw them you can either combo or do 6D to push them away and set up a pumpkin or a frog.

I’m doing a whole lot better now, thank god, and I’ve finally moved out of the pits of 12% win rate. I’ve still got issues with execution of combos and mixups, but at least now I find getting my stuff out to be much easier than when I started.

For Rachel, what does sj. as well as dj. mean? I looked for the terminology on the zetaboards but it was not in there.

So an answer to this would be greatly appreciated.

sj. = super jump

dj. = double jump

Am I missing something with the j.3D2C/3C mixup (as seen at 1:40 in this video: [media=youtube]AtnzMOEn2Zs[/media] )? I can’t get the j.3D2C to combo after the 5B.

It looks like you just jump cancel the 5B and start the j.3D2C as soon as you hit the air, but I can’t get them to combo. I know it’ll still rock face on people online, but I’d like to get them to link for later on when competition gets tougher :tup:

Im getting frustrated because they way some of you guys SAID I should play Rachel just isnt working.

They are rushing me down before I can zone them with a pumpkin. They keep killing the frog…etc.

I need to completely re-think how im approaching this game. Should I only throw out bat rods in combos?

what is a bnb jump in combo with rachel because i have the hardest time landing one consistently?

After the 3DC you could also drop a frog, pumpkin, etc. instead of a lobelia. 2 wind, but I think you can get away with not using wind on the 3DC.

you gotta block a lot with her. People aren’t gonna just stand around while you set up your stuff. Just try to land the easy combo the best you can, and when you get a knock down put out a pumpkin or a frog. TBH I don’t use the rods in the combos that much unless I see one is there. But then again this is based off of 2 days of playing so far.
