"Put down the Flowchart, Scrub!" Ken Video Thread

I love how he just jabbed him to death

prolly a bit harsher than i would have put it. the video’s are kinda funny cause we can laugh at the ken scrub… but this thread is for video’s of serious ken fights, for people looking to improve their ken and that doesn’t show us anything that we need in this thread.

fight was g2 tourney championship mode and not staged… just because I didnt take it seriously dosent mean it wasnt a “real” fight.
hadnt been a new vid posted in a while on this thread, so I decided to help out.
oh , and trust me, the fight was very serious for HIM

I was just… jabbin

my highest CP so far

If you can stand the spazzy camera work good match between DR. Chaos and Magneto man

DR Chaos and MAGMAN!

if ethier one of you smoked weed and we magically met at evo…

I would have to run some blunts beer and casuals

CRazzy viper and chun

Crazzy Ken

and of course the fat ass rufus

i still wish i could play you chaos, maximillian and Joe Masters

but i would only use ken and try to do ex tatsus as fluent as you guys probably do it now

magman posted that last page.

you jump in a lot which is rather risky, but you get away with it  so fair play

and that second round what wtfpwnage! so yeah, well played sir.

I got a few little tips from that vid thanks

yeah i jump alot against Bison. i find thats the best strategy for me. especially the neutral jump. jumping counters alot of his moves. mainly if he jumps at you, his sliding trip, his scissor kick, his psycho crusher and not to mention bison doesnt have any good anti air moves. so jump away. it might not be pretty but strategy> flash in my opinion.

Sooooo close to a perfect. I used to jump a lot at Dictator back when I abused jump LK and it used to beat out most of his stuff. Then I started getting headstomped like a bitch now I don’t anymore :frowning:

Tournament playlist got way bigger. All Ken tournament stuff, check it out. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D5C1E15176F87607

At 2.18mins
DP.fp xxFADC > j.rh (reset) … land… cr.lk blah blah blah
Possibly a throw instead as opponents have a tendency ‘hold’ a crouched block even if they are hit into the air with a DP. Especially charged characters.
Any idea that you can get a reset with with j.lk and land before they do and get a cross-under?
> would mess with their charge and possibly get a free combo on them if they don’t block right

Simply beautiful use of cross-unders repeated times. This is one tactic I don’t have in my game. So effective too… j.lk, cross-under, DP.fp xxFADC> ULTRA

For this one: I just want to point out to everyone what it means to have solid general fighting skills, added with character specific set-ups (Ken), and then combined with match-up knowledge.

General fighting skills:
Firstly - He knows how to fight. Not just fighting with Ken… but fighting in general. I bring this up because some players lack this skill. Take for example my friend who is a chun-player. He is a good chun player… but in terms of fighting skill… he is lacking. My mediocre Chun will beat his Chun… not from chun combos and setups that I lack… but from being outplayed with general fighting skills.
Moral: learn all aspects of fighting, FA offense/defense/counter/bait tactics, cancels, dashing, cross-up and cross-unders.

Character specific set-ups:
This library of links shows Max’s diversity and knowledge of Ken’s abilities. He doesn’t just add “General fighting skills + hit-confirm into DP = good Ken player” (which was my initial impression of his skill in earlier links). He uses ALL INGREDIENTS (tatsu, kara’s, cancels, FA tactics) and calls upon the right combo/set-up at will.
Ken has a DIVERSE and LARGE library of tools in his shed.
You can’t do this unless you practice and learn ALL of what Ken can do.

Match-up knowledge:
His base strategy is according to the opponent’s character. When I saw Ken vs Bison I was expecting a ruthless Ken jumping all over Bison trying to rip him a new ass-hole. Even though Max’s CQC skills were much above the Bison in the above link… he was not overzealous and PLAYED SMART. If it was not safe… he backed off fullscreen and reset - as a “charged” bison is ineffective at fullscreen to neutral j.rh. When he got the advantage - he rushed in and made his assault.

So unless you guys can play to this level. I think you should be bookmarking this link: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D5C1E15176F87607

Some vids from a tourney this past saturday http://clgamer.com/2009/06/ranbat-4-new-challengers/ :wonder:

and some of winners finals :wasted:

Really? I’m pretty sure his s.HK is a pretty effective AA. If you insist on jumpin in a well timed j.HP CAN snuff his s.HK but its risky and not reliable.(dr chaos can you confirm this?) I’ve done it several times, but maybe they were flukes.

Dr. Chaos, I really liked those sagat and cammy matches. You know those matchups well and it’s fun to watch. Too bad about that final with Rufus. It looks like you were getting a little fatigued, and it sort of reminded me of how I must look at 1am playing too many online matches

Chaos, my man…whats good? I WILL level up in Vegas, lol. SFIV crack session all night!

Just came across this in the Honda forum. High level flowchart play.

Only online, man… only online… :coffee:

That honda was pretty bad to have lost to that.

anyone that complains about flowcharts is on an even lower level since flowcharts are so easily beaten. that honda was terrible. all he had to do was block the cross up and his SRK and then punish.

The thing I don’t understand about that video is both players were over 15k GP, but the replay displayed it as G3 final battle. Psychic ranking system puts them in their place?
