im pretty sure its lp spark, mp and hp spark are unsafe. do you use cr. LK cr. HP as a frame trap?
Yeah. I would usually do ex spark because that’s safe or fadc my regular sparks ;).
hp spark isn’t unsafe on block, but it isn’t a true block string.
I’m pretty sure hp spark is +2 on block. In the corner, you can cancel cr. fierce xx hp soul spark > cr. strong and it’s a frame trap. Didn’t Jiban use it in a couple of his vids? He kept them honest by doing cr. fierce xx mp soul spark combos so they didn’t expect the hp soul spark frame trap.

I decided to do some matches with Acidronin, a Hakan player that is frequently seen on the SRKLive chat. I thought his Hakan was pretty good, and I didn’t have a lot of experience with the character in general, so I figured it would be a good idea.

I was really fishing and watching out for slides and command grabs to punish, so that’s why I didn’t finish some of my strings.
Chun: Work on absorb/reflecting from full screen. Projectiles are free meter from full screen. From close up you have to mixup between heavy reflect,medium reflect, and focus backdash–>punish depending on how he you think he will react. On techable knockdowns if you jump right away and time your j. mk you can beat reversal spinning bird kicks. Watchout for Chun’s normals/footsies. Her sweep is godlike.

Not really, since I was playing a lot more cautiously.
Jason gave a good summary of what to do in the Rose vs. Chun match-up.
Against Boxer, I would advise really watching your strings. You can’t really do Spark or Spiral strings often, because he already has his charge once he blocks it. Try baiting out headbutts, and using slide -> throw to punish his dash punches. Overall, this match-up can be quite frustrating for Rose.
Against Dictator, you have to be wary of his scissor traps. He can go through your untrue blockstring (c.mp xx Spiral), with EX Psycho Crusher, so be careful of that.

My thoughts on what did not work in this set:
-Playing conservatively (It was clear that the majority of the time, I tried playing conservatively, and I ended up in the corner, being frame trapped to death.)
-Execution (I still can’t get those 1f links down consistently enough, and thus, I had less damage potential and output. You can see how it can really made a difference, where he was able to get a good combo off a jab into knockdown, while I could not.)
-Sliding (As you will see in this set, Rose’s slide whiffs when Rose walks forward…similar to how Blanka’s slide whiffs on her when she walks forward.)
What I plan to do:
A) Really analyze her frame data again, and implement more frame traps in my game.
B) Find a way to utilize ALL of Rose’s normals in some way; I barely use Rose’s close standing short for instance.
C) Work on execution - I need to learn how to plink, as I think that would be very effective. However, I use a pad, so it’s going to be kind of difficult.
I got frustrated after a point, so I made stupid decisions that I shouldn’t have. I did feel really discouraged after this set, but then again, the only way to get better is to learn from what you did wrong.

i often play againts Golgoth 13,but i rarely win.he’s faster and clever than me,and he never do a big mistake…

honestly you looked tired during the whole set, and you must have been, so I wouldn’t be so mad about this. But yeah you missed a bunch of M>M which was weird. Thanks for the videos. By the way you’re a good player and you have a good playstyle. Just because you think you got demolished doesn’t mean you’re playstyle doesn’t work. Its just everytime i see a post from you its always you downplaying something about your rose
Anyway, does anybody have a dazzle capture card, because my quality comes out crappy all the time and the music tends to get slower. Plus there’s the S- VIdeo factor, will it drastically improve the quality, or just to a minimum.
Rose Out
His playstyle works, but you have the right parts to make a playstyle work.
I don’t think of the things he listed are a big deal besides execution.
Josh is not the best as execution, and he knows that, I know that. It’s not that I’m an execution god myself, but I can hit my 1f links pretty consistently (Sako combo points at the end for myself? :]), and throughout that set to 10, he did not hit one.
I’m not usually the one to be a hypocrite, but I’m gonna be a hypocrite.
Unless you can hit your links on pad, switch to stick. I was reluctant myself at first, but then my execution had gotten a huge improvement.
And I only say because hitconfirming is a huge part of Rose’s game. You can’t hitconfirm with Rose unless you have the proper execution to do a 1f link.
