I did a ton of matches with a good Fei-Long player, and I happened to record them. There’s going to be 4 videos in total, but only 2 are ready at the moment. The other 2 will be ready tomorrow.

It might’ve just been the online, but the Fei Long couldn’t do he 50/50 against you, which is really easy to do. It couldn’t have been the lag, he did not attempt to go for it.
To add on, you need to learn to differentiate between each of the Chicken Wings. The HK Chicken Wing is safe on block, but it’s obvious that it comes out really slow and it is easy to react to for the most part. The LK starts up really fast and has the most invincibility on start up, but it is -4 on block, which means you can punish with cr. strong spiral or cr. jab spiral, whatever you think is easier. MK is a mixture of both; -2 on block and in the middle with invincibility; still fairly easy to react to, doesn’t start up too fast and goes up fairly high; maybe a soul throw on reaction ;).
Thirdly, you’re developing a habit on doing a EX Spiral on wake-up when he’s trying to safe jump you. You should only do that with 3 meters because it is heavily punishable. Fei Long can punish EX Spiral on wake up with st. mp xx HK Chicken Wing, St. HP Rekkas/Flame Kick; EASY 400 damage.
Also, I heavily dislike of your endless pressing of buttons. I don’t like how he punished jab Rekka everything you had to offer.
Aside from a couple of execution errors, I wasn’t mindlessly pressing buttons. Where do you get that impression from? After a while, I tried using crouching jab to punish some of his Chicken Wings, but as you obviously said in your post, depending on the version, it can be punishable or not. I’ll watch out more carefully for the safe jump set-ups, thanks.
I was trying to do cl. mk, but since st.mk came out instead, and I was within good distance, I went for it. I only did that once or twice. So, what did I improve on?
hey everybody. ive spent a few months away from SF doin other things in my life. anyway here are some matches from yesterday. if anyone wants to let me know how im doin id appreciate it. i picked out 3 wins and 3 loses.
I’m not sure if this works a 100% of the time, but i was playing my friend’s chun and on knockdown i could jump in and if he did ex sbk it would completely whiff.
When chun li throws a fireball at you why don’t you hp reflect instead of mp reflect? the hitbox on the fireball is lower than ppl think and high enough to prevent some jump ins. against chun its pretty much a wall…she can’t jump or hizanshu or even walk forward(they usually try this option not knowing)
but if you think about it, you have nothing to lose. hp reflect actually recovers 1 frame faster overall than mp reflect. if jumping would beat hp reflect it would probably beat mp reflect too wouldn’t it(if he’s committed to it anyways). But if he delays just a bit you at least have a chance at hitting him out of the air and it beats hizansho too. The biggest thing is it stops his horizontal movement too. To me, there’s no reason to ever use mp reflect. Full screen = absorb. Half screen/jump in distance = hp reflect.
The reason as to why I used MP Reflect often in those series of matches, was because I noticed that the Chun player had the tendency of dashing forward towards me. I could tell that he wanted to be aggressive, hence why I opted for MP Reflect instead of LP Reflect. I was debating whether or not HP Reflect would be better as well, but I think it strictly depends on where Chun is. If she is in a position to jump after the fireball, I would do it. If she’s in the range where she can sweep you with cr. rh however, I think MP Reflect would be better.
EX sbk comes out later than 3 frames so it can be safe jumped on.
topanga, topanga topanga-jpn on USTREAM. Video Game Marathon starting at about 30:00 you see rose players playing in the charity tournament, for the most part, AE style of rose play is very defensive with safe pressure…something im really not looking forward to during DLC release…
Was that Jiban’s Rose? I didn’t know he was in the tournament. Excellent Rose play, it goes to show that Rose is still very well viable in AE. Doesn’t Rose have the alternative of doing continuous frame traps for offense as well?
