Thank you for the tips! I used to play Ranked a lot, but not much anymore. After watching the match over, I should have just blocked her HP knuckle, instead of jumping or doing anything to get out of it. I don’t know how I can refrain myself from trying to attack during blockstrings. I noticed that in my set against MarlinPie at GC 12. I could see a significant amount of counter hits on his side while he was pressuring me. If I was a bit more patient, it could have made the difference between winning and losing…I was a round away. If I could just get rid of the stand techs, the button pressing during blockstrings, and work on my 1f links, I think my Rose will be very solid. The problem is, I don’t think those problems will go away any time soon…no matter how many times it is brought to my attention. I need to find effective solutions, or I won’t improve.
Taking a trip to thunder knuckle city lol
These were the videos I could find from the last local tournament. Managed to get first.

Shoutouts to Smirk79 and Hugo101. Best Bipson.
I’m still trying to figure out what SAP stands for…
Are you shouting them out because you played them, or because they trained you for that Bison player who teleported NON-STOP.
lol.
haha well SAP wasn’t meant to stand for anything, was just supposed to be the word. My tournament organizer buddy thought it stood for “Seth and Proud,” cuz my actual name is Seth. I still read it as Sap, the word, but whatever.

I need to find more people to do Endless Battles with. 2 more people told me today I need to stop pressing buttons on wake-up or during blockstrings, ugh. I need work on defense.
I thought it was pretty much established majority of Rose’s wakeup game is going to be blocking, U2 and teching throws.
Yes, pretty much for the most part. I’ll just go into Training Mode and just work on it. I’m tired of my stupid impulses.
Sk, if you have friends that are willing to do this, you could play a little defense game. The game is that in one round, one of the players will try to rush down the other as much as they can, pressuring and mixing in tick throws, and the other player’s main goal is to try to survive it and defend against it as long as they can. Next round the roles are switched. You can also play some online matches and try to keep you mind on defense throughout the match. Instead of thinking “how can I counter this?” try to think “how can I block this?”
I don’t know if you’re interested but there’s a tutorial video on youtube for it. It’s pretty basic though so I don’t know if you’ll find much use for it. It helped me a lot though. Also if you want you can add me on xbl and we can play some endless. I live in PA so the connection should be fine. Gamertag’s over there if you’re interested <— And the tutorial video is below. Good luck in resolving this!

Thank you a lot again for the help! I will ask someone to help me with that, if they don’t mind. I’m going to definitely watch that video, although I have done so in the past. It’ll help watching it over again. Sounds like a great plan, once I get the game for the 360.
Awesome man! From what I’ve seen of MarlinPie I thought you’d get blown up like vs wolfkrone but you actually nearly beat this guy! You were doing great except, as people have said before, you ALWAYS use U2 on wake up!
Mix up how and when you use it like you do with all your other moves. Its just another tool but you need to make sure it counts every time!
Good meter management too that match! You were probably nervous (you looked it) but for the most part you did really well. You and MarlinPie made a few mistakes here and there.
Seems like the guard crush scene is liking you though and giving you some respect. That must feel good that you’ve got some attention from those guys. Things can only get better from here for you in the Street Fighter scene!
They were even saying you might become the better Sabin! :woot:
the better Sabin? So there’s a worse one out there?
Okay, so…

Here’s two matches against Capcom’s Hero who plays Gouken. I don’t know this matchup, but when AE comes I’m gonna have to learn this lol.

Me playing Rose vs Tokido playing Akuma in the grand finals of FRB7 from last weekend

Thats a good watch. Also encoraging for me that your Rose does the same things mine would do. Difference is that I would try to hit the harder links and fadc combos more (I saw you do a basic punisher while you had 2+ meter), but you perform nice footsies and throw-tactics by walking up between your pokes and chains and then doing another attack or throw. That’s great stuff that I need to master
yea I dont go for the hard links sometimes because im not confident enough with them. I figure if I fuck it up ill pay for it more. its not a good thing but I just dont really practice this game often honestly. also yea. I probably could have done way better punishers as well if I utilized meter and stuff but like I said, I dont play this game very often so I dont really get in the habit of it. thanks for pointing it out though. I should make more of an effort to go for that kinda stuff more.
I also should just block more when im getting pressured on wakeup instead of throwing out EX spiral or EX soul throw (or even backdashing too much for that matter, which he straight up predicted and hit me with that demon). I just suck at tech throwing in this game (too used to guilty gear timing which is much earlier so I always get thrown even when I try to tech) so I dont have confidence in just blocking and waiting for throws enough.
The demon looked like an option-select to me, which is probably very hard to do but it is Tokido, right. The match really showed to Rose requires U2 on wake-up to survive these kinds of pressure. It will get hard again.
yea… I relied on that ultra to save me a number of times and that shits not gonna work in AE…
Here is a video displaying some of my latest Endless Battles:

I used the Replay Channel, and turned on input display, so you get to see what is precisely going on.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
i just watched, why are you mashing on throw on wake-up? also why are you mashing on strong when you are blocking? STOP DOING THAT!!! no one wants to be on the defense but you have to do it. you’re putting yourself on a high risk for little reward.
