I understand that you’re highly frustrated over this match-up, but the first thing you need to do before approaching this, is to calm down. If you’re going to let your frustration get in the way, it’s going to interfere with your way of thought, and ultimately, how you play. I don’t know how many times you have seen this be reiterated, but you have to play patiently against Dhalsim, especially with skilled Dhalsim players. There is just no way that you could simply approach him, and not get hit with an anti-air in the process, if you’re jumping. If your opponent is anti-airing a lot, just don’t jump. Try looking for other alternatives to approach. If you can’t figure out what moves beat his Yoga Tower, go into Training Mode, and test out what moves work, and what doesn’t. There’s a reason why a lot of Dhalsim players don’t use Yoga Tower very frequently. Over time, I’m sure you will find a good solution and strategy to deal with this match-up.
Honestly that Sim wasn’t very good. He seemd to be using tower at random times, and panicked times. There is no sense in him using it full screen. That’s basically telling you to dash in twice on him, thus giving you the positional advantage. And since he was getting predictable with tower, you just gotta figure out what works on it, and realize what your window for punishment is (instead of getting baited to punish and falling for some ultra or super counter).
Sim is a bastard though.
i tried, belikeveme i dont autopilo t 10 rounds in a row. i tried to footsie him with pokes,
ythe video was mostly a parody though, i want people tp olagh
so laugh.
LOL, dont jump in so much =], and yeah dont go for those hard links that you arent getting, go for knockdowns because once he blocks, all he’ll do is jump and teleport away. Once you knock em down, go for a J.HP OS into HK.Spiral so he’ll never teleport away, if they like to backdash rather then teleport, OS sweep or ex spiral , i have a tough time focusing through the mid to short length limbs, like his b.short into his s.short, you just gotta find the rhythm i guess, but then he’ll mix in a b.short into fireball and then that messes shit up, lol. ive honestly never fought a sim though who utilised yoga tower though, for all those times i did my “fake” block strings ending up with spiral he could have yoga towered and seriously fuck me over into a super lol
thanks for the advice guys.

My set with MarlinPie. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
good shit on the matches. My only gripe there was that you opted for cr.strong>Drill instead of cr.Fierce>Roundhouse Drill for a punish. You were also getting pretty predictable with the U2 activation (which MarlinPie caught onto later.)
Thanks! That would have been a better punish, so that’s something I’ll work on. Normally, I punish with cr. strong into SS, so that’s why that kind of happened. I could tell from the matches that I was pretty much using U2 right on wake-up, when he could have easily blocked it, which he did in most instances. I’ll work on that as well. I was getting pretty nervous throughout the matches, but I gave it my all.
majinhurrcane you are hilarious! I love your commentary you remind me of this guy:

I suck vs Sim too. Rose/Dudley/Sakura vs Sim I suck lol.
there are times I still do cr.strong>Drill after blocked stuff or things I can punish with cr.Fierce>Roundhouse drill. It happens. Though MarlinPie was playing really cautious considering after knockdowns, he could’ve gone to town when you had no meter.
He certainly could have. Considering Rose has a lot of trouble especially against a rushdown Cammy, I would of had a more difficult time. I don’t know why he was playing really cautious. Maybe he wasn’t used to my playstyle or something.
Rose’s different drill strengths don’t change the damage. no reason to specifically roundhouse drill. the cr. fierce will give a little more damage than cr. strong though.
It doesn’t, so it doesn’t really matter in a combo. Personally I go for LK Spiral about 90% of the time, since it has the fastest start-up. If it was Alpha where Spiral did 1, 2, or 3-hit respectively varying on the strength, then that would be a different story.
Uploaded a video of my Rose vs a Boxer player, I know pretty much most of what I did wrong but was wondering if theres anything else I missed. I need to break the habit of using soul spiral when its obviously going to get punished.
well first of all you chose the wrong colour (alt 2 colour 7 is best (red/black)
edit: I will offer something constructive in the morning.
Ha, I usually go with Alt 2 color 6 or Alt 3 color 8 and 10.
Not bad. A couple things you should do/work on: After a throw, you should go for a safe jump. Very few characters should be respected while they’re down. And sometimes it has to do with if they have an uppercut with meter to burn. But say you knocked Dhalsim down, you just gonna stand there and let him get back up? Nah you gotta stay on him. Safe jumps are especially good on charge characters since they lose charge by blocking, or get punished for trying to reversal.
Also, you really need to get your combos down. Even if you don’t hit them, understand that there are certain sequences that work.
I saw you do a cross-up to sc.MK to c.MP xx drill. If you can tell you hit them from the cross-up, then just go for c.MP xx drill or c.HP drill. sc.MK and c.MP only link on counter-hit, which is very unlikely if the sc.MK follows a landed attack.
do you guys like my videos where I sit at my moniter and yell at it?

Seems like I’ve reached the triple digit mark.
I know that I have to work on not stand teching too much, and pressing buttons during blockstrings. I don’t know why I keep pressing buttons during blockstrings after being told several times from many people to stop doing it. I need to be more patient.

I had the opportunity to face Wolfkrone after reaching the finals of a Team Battle Tournament. I end up getting bodied, not surprising. Any tips here would be appreciated.
Nice vids, do you mostly play ranked?
I don’t at all consider myself a good Rose, but I’ll try to help. In your matches you seem to get a little predictable with the U2 activation on wakeup, especially when they are right next to you. If you sense them trying to bait the activation (walking forward after knockdown, crouching on your wakeup, hitting jabs on your wakeup) they will back off thinking that you will activate right when you get up so this is a chance for you to escape for free and keep your U2. Also when you were in the corner against the Viper, you should’ve just simply blocked more. You saw how hp Thunder Knuckle happy she was being, so just block and let her waste 2 bars of her meter. I think if you work on patience and blocking then you will be pretty solid. I know, easier said than done =/
