Lately I’ve been thinking on picking Rose as an alt to my Honda (she may fill his deficiencies well). I’ve learned a bunch about her poking and baiting game from watching some of your videos (so far 27 and 32-36). So, thanks.
I’ve had SSF4 since it was released but I have been putting it off until just recently. Here are some videos of my scrubby Rose. I apologize for the quality but I don’t think it’s that bad.

As you can see i’m not that great but that is where you guys come in. Be as harsh as you can.
Here’s what I noticed:
-Try using the slide more often, it’s very helpful.
-Be cautious when using Soul Spark if the opponent can use Ultra. A lot of opponents can take advantage of that.
-You can alternatively use c.HP as an anti-air, rather than Soul Throw. In the case that you miss, you won’t be punished as much.
-c.MP is really helpful for Rose. It’s a very effective poking tool.
-If your opponent is within jumping distance, try not to Soul Spark (sort of falls with point #2)
-I noticed that you do struggle a bit when it comes to projectiles. Try going into training mode, and practice on reflecting. It’s hard to get the timing at first, but you’ll get used to it.
-If the opponent focus attacks and misses, use s.HK. It has great range.
-Most of the time that you did do a slide, you followed-up with a throw. Try mixing it up, with c.MP, or other poking viable moves.
-When doing a neutral jump, go for HP. It’s a great air-to-air normal, and it has good range.

Thank you for the tips! I am going to try to incorporate cr.HP as an anti-air in my game. And yeah I agree I have a hard time in fireball wars because I don’t have the “rhythm” down yet. I noticed that I do cr.MP A LOT. I need to learn how to use her other normals more often. Here is one last video to finish the night off. I think I did a bit better in this match but my opponent wasn’t too grand so… shrug

Conclusion I have came to:
Against projectile users or characters in general, it seems that it is more effective to lure them close to poking range. I won a couple of my recent matches by doing this.
Alright, I decided to use Rose as a pocket character, I’ll add you to sk(x5)222 if you don’t mind so I can get more tips. I think Rose is really simplistic to play and fits my playing style the best as an alternative =). I’ll also post some Youtube videos when I get the chance and get everyone’s critique on my gameplay.

You have a really great Rose. You did very well with spacing and zoning. I have a question: I noticed that a lot of very good players like to use normals even when they’re not necessarily too close to the opponent, like you did with c.lp, and c.lk. Why do very good players do this? Does that fall into the spacing and zoning strategy? I’m currently trying to incorporate that into my gameplay. I can tell that I’ve been doing too much poking I think, but surprisingly it’s working. Really nice matches, I learned a couple of things.
