Psychic Hotline: Rose Video Thread

trike you need to learn meaties

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT Keshikaran IN DAT VID USED MY SETUP! LOL WHEN I TOLD THE FORUMS ABOUT IT, IT WAS DEEMED NON-VIABLE… THE PROOF IS IN THE MIXUP…

It was deemed non-viable in Super because U2 would’ve been used for other things.

U2 in general is pretty unviable in AE; so whatever you do with it is on you because it ends up not mattering.

He actually sold his EMP stick to one of the guys there, lmao.

And yeah, meaties are something I really need to work on. I always fuck up the timing on cr.lk and get wakeup thrown. :frowning:

Yeah, I wanted feedback. :>

I never really tried walking forward and blocking. Usually I just stayed out of his range and threw fireballs/reflected which… of course doesn’t end well for Rose. Yet I still continue to do it and hope he fucks up. My other strategy is to go balls crazy with FA dashing and jump-ins which…rarely ever works. I’ll try walking up and blocking next time I play him. Thanks!

after an untechable dash forward and start walking. practice it in training mode. push him in the corner. Then you can do corner frame traps for day.

lol @ ending

That’s exactly how I use u2. All the time. Well that situation is kind of like the ideal, the maximum amount of damage you can do, but nevertheless getting at least a throw off or a combo off is the minimum. I do the same thing but I usually have to whiff a throw in front of them to make them try to stand tech(because nobody’s going to able to crouch tech this setup, it’d be too difficult w/o the extra teching frames) and when that happens their hitboxes push out into the orbs giving me enough time to recover and combo the hit confirm.

Essentially after a throw w/ two orbs I like to whiff a throw. They usually react to that throw w/ a tech which causes the orb to hit them when it usually wouldn’t and I combo afterwards. The hardest part about this is conditioning them to not do anything stupid. You really have to read the player and do a lot of empty baits and really have to get a feel on the player before you would do this at a tournament since just one reversal will make your whole setup moot.

I’m still working on my Rose. I’m happy they are giving her meter back. I heard they still doing changes, I may make her my 2nd over Juri or not, depends on the changes. I still think she is underrated. U2 is still good for momentum changing, it’s free pressure, she has good keep away game and her mobility and pokes are still top notch.

shouldn’t of sipped my diet coke instead of looking at which ultra makoto chose lol, I still pulled it off though. I’m going to assume she usually picks that one vs fire ball users?

qcf lagged out at the start of the match here lol

Makoto’s U2 is stupidly slow (16f) but since Rose’s fireballs have such ridiculous recovery, it becomes less of an issue. Just be careful about your zoning. If a Makoto picks U1 though, you should look out for dash-in EX Karakusa into U1. It’s a choice between utility versus damage/comeback potential basically.

Sorry for late reply it was a “hey I got high life bar than you, U think can win? :D” situation so all I did eventhough hopeless is build my super meter for the final round aka “round3” which hes going to regret  .

nice comeback by fucu

those japanese roses…

Round 2… and I never thought there would be people who used U2 worse than I do.

===

Nice, I thought so. I was the one who would comment on YT as well. I would critique, but I’m still cracking up at that Round 2 as well.

So I finally figured out how to upload saved matches from the PC version. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks! I do tend to jump-in on everyone I play against… Not much, but I sometimes forget who I can’t jump on at all. What’s an oki? lol! I’ve played a better Sakura who somehow nullifies my cr. hp anti-air (nullifies pretty much ANYTHING I do, actually -_-). I guess he delays his normal a little longer. Now that you mention it, I’m not really sure why so many cross-ups were landing that match. There was a bit of lag here and there… LOL. Watching my match I felt like I was kind of predictable with my cross-up to cr. lp. Although if it’s not broken, why fix it? :stuck_out_tongue:

@spiffyg
You were fine though you still tend to give up to much space unnecessarily. Once better players get you to the corner, you’re usually over and they’ll just lock you down. That’s why I always use meter to EX FIREBALL them and push them back. Um in the second match when you had him in the corner you decided to cross him up again. Never give up corner pressure. Once you have him in the corner, try to frame trap him and pressure him. If you have u2 use it and go for throw gimmicks. It’s impossibly hard to tech. Cr. strong into EX FIREBALL into slide is a pretty good frame trap. They only thing I noticed on your footsies game was you were getting baited into slide too much. Use st. forward and cr. forward more instead of slide in those situations where you were going to slide.

I joined a random Endless lobby and there was a Guy player beating everyone. I haven’t being playing SSF4 a lot and when I do I’m not playing Rose and it shows!! I feel like i’m playing this game for the time again :(!! My computer was acting silly when recording, I’ll try and get the rest off the matches up if I have time…only two more!!

Aside from my executional errors (which will pass once I get back into it) what should I be doing in this match-up!! It’s seems that all Rose players view this as 7-3 in Rose’s favor!! I know cr.mk beat everything but what else?

I asked him for a more matches or a FT10 but he wasn’t interested…

hum…I think you played very well o_O. I didn’t see anything bad there…

Lengthy set vs a friend who’s learning Viper. As a Chun mainer this match is a nightmare, but things seem slightly more punishable with Rose. Still trying to figure out what moves beat what other moves.

LOL @ elec knuckle parade come match 3.

First of all, I think you played really well as cerberusx said. However, if you’re asking for help you probably should be asking more detailed questions or posting a loss, not 2 pretty convincing victories.

Second, I would also love to know why this match makes it on everyone’s ‘easy matchup’ list. In general, Rose does not like pressure and I feel like Guy has a ton of ways to get in to start his pressure. Why is this match considered easy?

Some of my problems-
His jumps often beat cr hp (elbow, or regular with his jump arc). Are you supposed to just cr mk?
He can just run in from full screen to start his game. Full screen FBs are pretty much unsafe/pointless, so its not a great place to be anyway.
Up close he has tons of safe block strings/counter hit setups. Cr mk is safe enough to just throw out all the time.
Jumping is pretty unsafe even at range because of his flip throw.

I don’t get a lot of Guy practice, but would love to hear advice. Since the match is considered easy not many people mention it.
