PS2 to PS3 converter. Pretty cheap, sorta high S&H, but this thing works flawless with my 1. Akuma SE PS2 pad on ALL Capcom PS2 games on PS3 2. Hori FS3 (same as #1) 3. Guitar Hero II guitar plays all the GH’s (1, 2, 80’s, 3) NO lag. 4. my buddies modded arcade stick with PS2 PCB

Seriosly, your answer is in that link. But the tell the guy the S&H is retarded high

Thanks for the reply. Is this the converter you are talking about? It looks like a pass-thru cable. Can you confirm this is the one that works for you?

Thanks!

The product on that link you sent doesn’t have a website. Where did you buy yours from??

I’ve got one of these things. Works as advertised and I haven’t noticed any real problems with it. Even works with Hori PCBs. Won’t work with VF5 unless you have an analog button to press though. Very good if you just want a no-frills converter.

allthatshit.txt

a local shop called Toy Kingdom. i don’t know where you can get it online.

Does it work with PS2 games on PS3? I thought PS2/PS1 games required the PS button to be pressed?

ps2 games do, not ps1 games. atleast thats how it works for me…

Tim Static or Farpenoodle:

Does that adapter work for PS2 games on PS3? The product information says,

“Guaranteed to be compatible with all Playstation 3 games, regardless of region, however this product does not support PS2 games.”

Just want to clarify, thanks.

That adapter is made by Dragon Electronics and you can get them online from DealExtreme.com ($5.32 inlcuding shipping) or from from divineo.cn ($6.95 + $5 shipping).

I have two myself and I think they work great, however, two Tekken players that tried the converter using a stick (with a DualShock PCB) claimed they had trouble doing some juggles. Might be the converter, might just be them.

Yes, it works on PS2 software. One of the recent updates for the PS3 made it so you can.

Yup, this is the exact one I have (now I have 2) anf it works with GH guitar, PS2 DS & PS2 Akuma pad, no problems, no lag.

Thank you very much for the information!

This thread needs to be updated. Due to the recent firmware, all controllers that work with the XMB or ps3 games work with ps2 BC. Not sure about ps1 though.

So, if I purchase this Hori stick for PS3: http://www.amazon.com/Hori-Fighting-Stick-3-Playstation/dp/B000MWE3BI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1203104461&sr=8-3

…will it work with Capcom vs SNK 2, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, etc. for PS2? …with no lag?? Thanks for your help.

b1a54 according to the users on this forum, It won’t work too well. It won’t work too well.

No. He’s saying that it’ll work with PS2 games on PS3.

Need a little help.
do you need an analog button with these convertors? and do they work with ps1 dual shocks.

I think they work with all controllers, or most. Not sure about SFAC, but the ps1/ps2 games need a PS or Analog button.

I have this adaptor from Deal Extreme: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5229, but it doesnt work properly with PS2 DDR dancepad on PS3. You cant press 2 arrows at the same time. I had read that having a PS button may help. What does PS button do? Would this adaptor resolve the problem because it has a PS button: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6834?
