What good would that do? The crowd would probably kill the man and then what would it accomplish? You’d further the divide between the residents of the city and the people charged to protect them. If I were the police chief and I saw the riots happening, I would also protect his identity and I’d be justified in doing so.
The name should be given to the city prosecutor and internal affairs. That’s it.
I will continue this discussion when I have the time, working some overtime this week. For now I will say that regardless of whether or not the initial reaction in Ferguson was warranted or premature, the shit that is going down there courtesy of a police force that wants to be a military is inexcusable. To any of you who think a big, active government is the solution to all the nation’s ills, please remember that this is what such a government really boils down to.
Try to remember this isn’t exactly a race issue. The police and government will stomp you whether you are white or black, if you stand up to them. I hope this riot destroys the entire city. I would give zero fucks if every dirty corrupt pig in Ferguson gets lynched and crucified.
WaPo is out for blood after the arrest of one of their reporters. They just released an article documenting the racial tension building between the community and the police.
They are trying to set up a warzone. It is no longer about protecting public safety but about protecting themselves from nation-wide scrutiny, something they have failed to do anyway. I read earlier that a Missouri representative wants the Ferguson Police Department relieved of duty and that’s a good thing.
They SHOULD be relieved. Common sense dictates this.
But they are preventing news from getting out, to the effect of blockin news choppers, gassing and arresting journalists, and preventin assemblies whether violent or peaceful.
They declared war against the public. Your fucking citizens should start taking buses to Ferguson to stand against the corrupt police force.

That makes no sense. Usually in most police cases when police have to use excessive force they have usually come out by now and say I had to use excessive force for what ever reason. Yet, all the police have said is that the officer involved has an injury on his head which is selective information. The public can get no answers and the media can get no answers, and yet the government and police force response is nothing really except let’s stop the night protests, the media and let’s get cops on the street. This is after the government came out and said they would release the officers name. Basically, saying we will release what we want when we want regardless of what the citizens of that area want in effect defeating one of the purposes of government.
What you are saying is forget the safety of everyone else in the community by helping provide answers and protect this one cop who killed an unarmed kid because you fear for his safety over other people in the community (including other police men and government officials). You said it yourself **“I think it’s time for the local police to give up control. They can’t do their jobs properly”. ** However, in the this statement above you trust that same police force and government to do the right thing by the city prosecutor and internal affairs? That makes no sense. There are even former Federal Prosectors are coming out saying that the government and police force needs to get more information out there, not selective information and definitely not the militarization of police as Camacho mentioned above.
It’s completely absurd that the state hasn’t done anything. with all the news coming out of what they are doing, they need to crack down on this department, shut it down, and do an internal investigation. Every one conspiring to protect the murder should be arrested for conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Also, if and when found guilty, this man’s pesnion and benifits should be stripped and voided, as long as with those who are obstructing the peace by initiating illegal martial law.
