The U.S. actually has pretty stringent rules against allowing the domestic use of the federal military. I mean, that’s why the National Guard exists in the first place. The Posse Comitatus Act gives VERY strict rules of when the federal military can be used, although under President G.W. Bush those restrictions were loosened in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Those amendments were fully repealed in 2008 and President Obama changed it slightly to also include anyone with ties to Al-Qaeda or any such terrorist group.
Emotions can cloud shit sometimes so it’s best if everyone would just not post for a while but since that won’t happen let’s try and look at this objectively.
Michael Brown was NOT an innocent little teenager. He strong-arm robbed a guy shortly before his confrontation with Darren Wilson. I know some of you may see that as character assassination (something the US public LOVES when it happens to someone they hate so I don’t understand why so many here are angry about it) but it is important to get the context right. He probably did start the fight with the officer and that’s why it unraveled like it did. There is enough evidence in what was made public to show that it wasn’t completely one-sided. I agree that the lacerations Wilson received were not that impressive but he wasn’t unharmed.
Wilson acted IRRESPONSIBLY. He was allowed to defend his safety and his authority, but deadly force wasn’t the way to go. Reading up how he just shot wildly without even looking where he aimed his gun, in the middle of the day on the street, he obviously doesn’t know how to use his gun safely. If he can’t be trusted to use it safely, he cannot be trusted to use it responsibly. He should face criminal charges because it looks like he acted at the very least with criminal neglect that got an unarmed man killed.
The riots are whatever. I don’t condone it but I also understand that the whole MLK thing was lightning in a bottle. History has taught us that unbridled violence changes shit faster than trying to go down the peaceful road. Neither side guarantees you victory in your agenda, but I can definitely tell you one side has a lot more wins than the other.
I’m pretty sure most black people did in fact vote Obama in because he is black (biracial but to black people he was black). There are heaps of interviews showcasing how black people on the street knew nothing about his politics and even thought he was a conservative because the interviewer was messing with them.

Yeah, that’s always part of the problem with…well, every argument: Very few, if any, people are willing to see or comfortable with the possibility that both sides might be [read: probably are] at fault. One side has to be “innocent” and “faultless” and whatever other divine, angelic, superlative bullshit even though humans are never any of those things. A person can be otherwise “good” and still fuck up, but…yeah, people tend to never see that.

Unless you follow Fox News and the Republican narrative, even with all the scumbag surveillance “security” measures that (“Tyrant”) Obama has either kept or enacted, he’s not nearly as bad as Assad, which just being richer wouldn’t really fix. That said, yeah…I’m still expecting Civil War 2 around 2020 if America (or humanity) even lasts the long.

Funny you mention this because I read an article a few weeks ago about how Michigan is trying to change the way its electoral college handles popular votes for presidents. It would effectively split its electoral votes (16) depending how how much percentage each candidate gets. You wanna see some fun shit? Imagine all states did that. You would effectively make it near impossible for any Democrat from occupying the office anymore.
