The boldfaced part is frightening; to think that someone actually believes this is abhorrent. So if police open fire on a group of harmless people with the pretext that they were armed and dangerous (in this case it was very clear he was not of danger to anyone), you are justifying they open fire indiscriminately?
Bottom line: police aren’t protecting people in this era. If people are having a hard time understanding this, look at how they responded to political and social opposition in Ferguson: by attacking and intimidating peaceful protesters and journalists with military weaponry. Just ask yourself, what are they actually enforcing in Ferguson? Curfew times, disperse or get fired at, banning press helicopters - they don’t want social opposition to spread beyond this region. It already has to an extent (and righteously so).
This is not some period like the 60’s or 70’s where they have something to offer. Every politician representing the state is out to channel anger into ‘safe’ political realms e.g. Sharpton, Jackson… There’s no justice for the masses.
Good point. The police force is a place where backward sentiments resonate throughout the entire organizations; it’s a breeding ground for hate of the working class (especially the black working class in Ferguson).
While you’re at it, ask yourself why the state brought in the military to combat protesters on this issue in defense of the cop(s). Who do they all serve? Us? Obviously not.
I appreciate your insight, but I’m not convinced about the bolded part. A show of force in any context has the possibility of escalating a situation as well as quelling it, especially in this particular context where agitation with the police essentially started this mess.
And if you’re former military, I would assume you are relatively comfortable around people in camo that are armed, but I don’t think most people are. It very much gives the impression of being in occupied territory, or that things are unstable.
Of course they treat protesters as one entity; it’s one class’s social frustration with inequality vs one class’s contempt for them. The state will smash any opposition in this era. Arguments for militarized police will continue to parrot out of state-apologists mouths as long as they are lined up with the financial aristocracy.
By the way Compton School police will now carry AR-15s in addition to other schools in CA… Hey guys, living in a police state is fun right?
There was NOTHING wrong with this. The reporter was just stating facts from the guy’s own family. Black people are super sensitive the way they are portrayed in media but when they are alive and actively doing disruptive shit NO FUCKING ONE in the community speaks up about it.
I think the issue here us that the “news” does nothing to show insight for Brown. Straight to bashing him as a typical nigg@, while writing an essay for the cop as if he was an absolute angel.
It’s fucking retarded that there is no effort and they are type casting the dude, on purpose, as a typical nigger
What article were you guys hoping they’d write for Brown? A lot of you simpletons looking at him like Jesus or some shit. Did you want the NYT to write a new gospel? Brown 1:1?
I was listening to the news today where apparently, someone was recording during a conversation they were having with someone else, catching the moment when the gunshots rang out against michael brown. You thought 6 shots were a bit much? they are now thinking it may have been 11. :wtf: The longer it goes, the worse it seems to get. Gotta agree with jimmy. corruption is a bad idea from the start, and will only lead to a bad end.
It’s prejudice for one. It further typecasts blacks as hood niggers to the subconscious of America.
In fact, didn’t you bitch about being type casted by blacks in Newark for being white?
I remember @thrust telling you it’s because you wore f@g skinny jeans in the 90s.
you’re supporting the same shit you complain that happened/happens to you. Strangers assessing you in all the wrong ways simply because of skin color and or sub-cultural bullshit.
Whether he’d done nothing or everything, it’s not “fair” reporting. It’s biased, which is funny that you support this slant journalism, because you defend it when it’s attacked by “conspiracy” theorists for being biased by saying “no it’s not, I worked there”.
And you further support the damaging idea that all cops are hero’s and or good people.
I wouldn’t have in issue with what you’d said, had you not adamantly defended these obviously agenda driven media machines, and not botched about being type casted and attacked by niggers in Newark.
What? You mean the small excerpts they took out of it? Have you read the FULL article? Or are you just going by what Sean McElwee posted on social media?
11 shots seems excessive but it should have been easy to find the shell casings considering the Scend was closed off relatively quickly. Hopefully that info comes out.
