ive never been in a situation personally where i need to fire at an attacker, but from every single account of people who have, training and attitude can only take you so far when adrenaline and fear kick in
saying you should shoot to disable is just not what guns are for. when you are threatened, you shoot to kill. once its already at the point where you’re firing your weapon, its too late to think about disabling them with a trick shot
Am not disputing any of that, am just going by the video posted. Top comment was probably right, he wanted to die but the way that went down was some bullshit, if the cops cant disable a guy in that situation what chance they gonna have if say, the guy burst into a sprint from the get go, jumping over doors and going for throats?
All in, that guy should have been brought down via non lethal methods.
Cops could’ve used tasers. Cops could’ve used mace. Cops had options other than being a firing squad. Completely unsurprisingly, the cops decided to gun a man down.
Jesus Christ. Have any of you even fired a gun? Even with training and experience, hitting small, moving targets (such as limbs) is going to be extremely difficult compounded with stress and fear due to danger. What happened in Germany was pure luck. I know everyone is pissed off at police and the shit going down in Ferguson, but you can’t say EVERY incident of deadly force as excessive. As Joshkaz pointed out, the danger of someone with a knife is being underestimated here.
People keep saying cops are just people too, but then expect cops to have super human, Hollywood-like aiming abilities when real danger is present. Use your brain.
the racist officer has a fractured orbital bone. Obviously he must have injured himself because the innocent kid couldn’t have struck an officer, he was an angel
Use of deadly force is ok in some cases. The problem is that the police have lost all credibility with their stupidity, brutality, and bullshit, directed toward people who were not guilty of any crime. If they want credibility, they can start by wearing body cameras that record their every action. They are in a position of power, the public who relies on them for safety deserve transparency in how they handle things. Second, whenever a cop does something horrible, like those idiots in LA who were hunting down Dorner and SHOOTING UP RANDOM CARS THAT DID NOT MATCH DORNER’S MAKE, COLOR OR MODEL AT ALL, they deserve to be punished. Not suspended WITH pay. That’s taxpayer money being wasted
I don’t think anyone would really disagree with this, but the incident we’re specifically talking about is what Pedo linked and if deadly force was justified.
The actual death of Brown is genuinely irrelevant at this point. The problem isn’t about his death anymore. The problem is the militarization of police, their open suppression of the media and their carte blanche ability to open fire on civilians with any provocation, no matter how small (or imagined). We could find out Brown pulled a rocket launcher on cops and it wouldn’t excuse their actions.
We’ve seen cops fuck up with tazers, too, resulting in someone’s death. And now an incident with a chokehold. So it’s not like a cop choosing those options over a gun means any better judgment in applying it, or that it guarantees no fatality in the result.
Be sure to teabag the corpse before it disappears. Stock up on ammo and go for the spawn frag. Also be sure to aim behind because sometimes the collision box lags behind the opponent’s model.
Bullshit copout response for reactionary race baiters that rather than learn facts and objectively review a case will instead unsurprisingly prefer to play their cheap banal cards AGAIN and get all uppity AGAIN.
If the grounds of which you are protesting is flawed, you’ll get limited national sympathy, and watch how quickly your weak cause is forgotten.
fuck it, I’m rooting for the cops to taze, spray, arrest, gas the fuck out of half of the annoying idiot exaggerators/provocateurs in Ferguson
A bunch of fucking couch potatoes used to playing Call of Duty are going to say cops can just aim at limbs. You people really are stupid as fuck. I don’t even know why I bother coming to this website anymore.
Iceland grieves after police kill a man for the first time in its history

The contrast is quite fascinating. One can see in the states the issue with all this senseless killing has to do with cultural and socioeconomic problems which has robbed us of our basic humanity and has made us numb, not just guns. Here you have Iceland where just this relatively tame and justifiable incident had them in such an emotional state, a stark contrast.
When I heard about the Michael Brown incident it reminded me when I was running in exercise attire on a popular jogging path a few months back, only to have a cop slow down in his cruiser to inspect what I had in my hand- a water bottle.
I would have just smacked that guy’s pressure points, dashed through him and activated my paralyzation jutsu. Why don’t cops train UFC like me and just flying armbar people coming at them with knives? See, if I was a police officer, I’d just roundhouse kick the weapon out of their hand and then cartwheel away before he could attack me back.
As somebody that sits on my couch a lot and watches anime, I can tell you right now that if I was in that position, I’d have just talked down the guy screaming at me and approaching with a knife. “Calm down, sir.” Why didn’t they just say that? Because they’re RACIST and assume black people can’t speak English! Man, FUCK the police!
It’s dumb statements like that which undermine the logical message behind this sorta shit.
I’ve shot a gun before plenty of times, ak47, revolver with 38 special rounds and 357 rounds, 9, etc… and people make it seem like its harder then it is, and it truly isnt. With zero experience i was able to hit small objects pretty far off with everything except the revolver with 357 rounds, where i would miss the target from like 5 feet away. LOOOL. My friend doesnt shoot all the time, enough though, and he can toss random small objects into the air and hit them with precision like 8 out of 10 times.
But yeah, quite frankly, if someone in the street in missouri approaches you with a knife, you can shoot them dead as a regular citizen. If regular citizens do not have to show the kind of restraint we want from cops, its really no shocker that an officer, when faced with that type of imminent danger, will light your ass up with bullets.
I would have preferred an attempt to taze, but considering the dude immediately was essentially taking no for an answer, who couldve been high on some shit and plowed right through a taser, or simply ripped it out like others have done, while also gradually pressing forward, i’m not shocked he got lit up like that.
If they had it available on them, which in some cases they dont. I would have gotten out the truck, told him to drop the knife, no drop, then i’m macing you, then tasing you. Ideally this is what i would prefer to do, but then again, mace isnt going to just affect him, it will affect you too, depending on the device and what not you use, hence why its usage is likely used the least. Ive been in a crowd that has been maced before, i straight up thought i was gonna die, and that shit wasnt even right next to me, it was like 15 feet away or so, and just caked the area. You probably wouldnt try to mace someone with a knife as a cop, because if they simply just back off until it settles, or back off quickly so you miss, then here you are again in the same stand off.
Deadly force is sadly our go to often in cases where we can prevent it, but in the given situation, i cannot say i am infuriated that the man got shot, because i wouldnt be happy if he was able to stab and kill that officer. I dont know that officer from a grain of sand at the beach, so i cannot just wish death on him. They didnt get out of the truck and just immediately shoot him. They told him to put the fucking knife down, he didnt, and not only did he not, he kept getting closer, and quite frankly, that officer let him get super fucking close before shooting him. The dude wasnt just a danger to armed officers, but he was a public danger too. None of those brothas around him were trying to subdue him, pleading for him to put the knife down, and calm down, cause they aint trying to get stabbed up, just like that cop wasnt either.
The video has been posted already, but yeah, i sparred most of my life with my friend growing up, and people would be shocked how quickly someone can close ground and fuck you up even from like 6-8 feet away, and if you have a knife on top of that, shiiiit. If its me with a knife vs someone 8-12 feet away with mace or a taser, and im pumped up full of anger and adrenaline, i like my odds in getting a knife into your body before you can do enough harm to stop me in my tracks.

Ideally I would have like to have seen an attempt to tase, since there were two cops, but i understand why it didnt happen. Lets just say one of them attempted to tase him, he ripped it out, and started charging at the officer full speed. The officer wouldnt even have time to pull out his gun before dude was on him, stabbing him to death (assuming he doesnt have a taser in one hand, and his gun in the other), and then the other cop cannot just simply come up and start shooting dude because he may hit his friend, now you have to wrestle with someone with a knife at that point, and you are likely in more danger then him, as you try to save your friend, and keep yourself from getting randomly sliced by a knife. If the other cop gets lucky, he can shoot him before he gets to the other officer to start attacking him, but he could easily miss, or not hit a vital enough area to stop his charge, and boom problem persist.

I dont care about this person that got shot quite frankly, and i hope he wasnt trying to be some type of fucking martyr.
