I’ve actually had close to this same discussion with friends and family, and the general consensus is that the police force will probably end up more segregated than before, since no black person from Ferguson will want to have anything to do with the police for the next generation, at least. Nothing short of a complete firing of the current police force will change their public view.
There are people from outside of the state that had the intention of disrupting the peaceful protests. I guess they were successful by using disruptive tactics because it looks bad out there right now.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the police had knowledge of these disruptive people hiding among the protesters.
Wow, i’d thought I’d never see the fucking day. It’s obvious non violent protest aren’t going to do anything. Any sympathy that I may have had for law enforcement is now gone.
The entire Ferguson community, city, state, etc. needs to come together and weed out those out of state “protesters” who likely started the mess that happened a few days ago.
Guy (reporter?) posts on twitter that tear gas is banned for war use but legal to use by US police… but doesn’t realize it was not banned for any kind of lethality reasons. (It’s banned due to fear of more lethal chemicals being used in retaliation)
At least do your research before you say stuff like that, as it only makes a shitty situation even worse. People need to be very careful about spreading misinformation in situations like this.
and that same quick search also led to some interesting effects that could be permanent. And since the police are protected by law, this is something that they shouldn’t use due to the possibility of severe or potential permanent effects. There fore it’s use should be in question.
Antonio French knows what’s up with disruptive cults like the RCP. Groups like the RCP don’t give a shit about peace or looting. They have their own agenda and are using some of the people in Ferguson as pawns:
While this is true, there didn’t seem to be anything conclusive, otherwise everyone in US military would be suffering from the effects due to having to go through some intense training with it (in much worse conditions iirc).
Either way, he was spreading misinformation. He later deleted said tweet and followed up by going on about CNN misreporting that the tear gas was just smoke. He also corrected himself about why tear gas was banned in an international treaty.
The only thing that should be questioned in regards to its use is firing it into protesters. Unfortunately the situation out there is pretty fucked due to shitheads rioting/looting to antagonize police, ruining what the peaceful protestors are trying to accomplish.
9/10 the RCP is actually some faction the US government sent in to stir things up. I saw a documentary about a protest somewhere and the government sending in “anarchists” to basically disrupt otherwise peaceful protests so the cops had an excuse to start shooting.
happened in Quebec a few years ago. Cops put people into ALL protests, it’s like the first thing they do. Infiltrate and get info. Then, if necessary, they can provoke shit, and give police a reason to start cracking noggin’s.
