At low to mid levels, Kyosuke can be annoying with the airwalk glitch too. Teleported throws and long distance cross cutter ftw. I think he can dizzy with just two bnb’s too.
To beat airwalk, Use the Hideo upwards fireball. Or, iirc, look for his shadow spot on the ground and throw. It should teleport him back down to earth. :lol:

Yes. he can do anything in the air except the qcf+K I think (which would bring him back down). The cross cutters/cross cutter super would appear on the ground even though he’s in the air. Makes for lazy runway.
So I picked this game up again thanks to this thread. I used to play it extremely casually back in the day. I’m surprised how garbagey Ran (my old main) seems. Anything I might not realize about her? Tricks?
I think Saotome Kaneda once said she’s mostly used for her assist. It causes a mini-launch so you can air combo
j.:hp: is good. You can also use the newspapers (qcf+k) as antiair.
Always reload (qcb+k) in the air. The ground ver is too slow. After every 3-4 camera shots, I think you’ll need to. One qcf+p too many, you will get the reload instead of the camera shot (i.e. you’re a sitting duck).
as for kyoko , her jab spam is rediculous as momo’s jab spam . kyoko’s lp has equal range as edge’s and fast . so all they do is just dash jab jab dash jab jab dash jab jab dash c’throw or whatever . if you got hit by her lp lp , then she chain it into hp , hk , qcbx2 k --> ouch !
as for kyosuke . even without the glitch he is already still the beast . all he do is just dash up lp , lk ,hp , hk , f.hk , cross-cutter ,rinse and repeat . or do the jab spam like kyoko or momo . also, kyosuke does stun the opponent if he keeps on comboing , more than 2 super combos already able to stun the opponent .
middle top tiers : kyosuke , kyoko , hayato , roy , kurow , edge ,hideo?
top tiers : yurika , roberto , momo
and same thing like back in the time , the game is not call GGXX . is called GGS ( guilty gear sol ! ) umeniku viipaaaa !!! teaaaH teaaaH teaaah !!
and they complain about sol’ dust loop too because some people are lazy to practice it .
if you are hardcore enough , do his infinite :looney: .
and even his basic BnB with jump hk XX super star kick , lp lp hp , shin-shoryu hurts ! wooot
it’s funny that when i do hideo infinite , i wasn’t doing the same thing as what DJI( or whatever his name) did in his combovideo . mine was slightly later to do the 1st air-lk right after the launch . at the long run , the opponent’s body is like nearer to the ground when i am doing the loop . which is possible for me to do dash-lp , c.hp and link boman’s tag team .
edit : do you notice that hayato’s vertical kick special can be cancelled to scolding slash ?
I think it’s weird timing though, the opponent is too high to do a jump followup, but might be hit with the hadoken when they’re at their peak in the air after the super.

I think Persona, the combo maker, did the best thing you could do with that combo.
how does he get specials SO low to the ground though? I can’t do that at all. :arazz:
oh and after Hideo’s Shin shoryu, they do recover before you hit the ground, but you can throw an upward fireball that they HAVE to block.
I was also doing some testing on Edge’s roberto team up combo, and I found it doesnt work on any women except for Natsu. I also revised the input a bit.
d.LK, d.HP, QCF+HK, Roberto’s team up (Partner B).
I found that it turns you around by itself and pressing fwd will only make it come out slower.
and that Roberto has to be Partner B because of the input needed. If hes in Partner A slot, when you do the input (HP+HK) he’ll always do his back-turned HP instead.
The reason I like Hayato is because of the sound of his Kendo sword hitting the opponent. Man that sounds like it hurts!!!
I also like Daigo, his fighting style is just bad ass and I like how his QCFx2+P super can be comboed into now (in RS, you can only combo into it after his B+HK). He also has cool air combos.
Im not much of a fan of Natsu, but if i were to pick a character from Gorin HS, it would be Shoma. I just like his fighting style as well and the fact that you can now cancel his F+FK into his supers (his QCBx2+P or QCFx2+K at least).
I am not as good in the combo department for this game as persona is though, so I can’t do those fancy air juggle setups with 100% execution (yes i know it takes time to master them).
My team usually consisted of 3 badass characters all the time, so I have these teams always in mind.
I almost never use any characters with healing team-up Techs cuz you dont get as much life back for the cost of the move. I rather have someone that builds meter, I can use that more.
I enjoy my team of Zaki/Natsu/Kyosuke
Trying to still link some good combos with Yurika and her brother kurrow
Momo is just a fun ass character to use.
